A tough tour but captain Mohammad Azharuddin stood up in the fourth Test of the 1991-1992 series against Australia hitting 106 in the second innings. It wasn't enough to secure the victory though with Australia dismissing the Indians just 38 runs short of the 372 target.

This was a beautiful knock under the most extreme pressure almost led to a miracle win . Azhar is wonderful to watch when in full flight.

ah, Azhar - pure class and one of the most selfless cricketers. The amount of times he gotten out in the 80's & 90's in the ODI's throwing his wicket trying to accelerate is stuff of legends. memories...

If India had won this game it would have been the greatest of all innings. His form remained fluctuating in remaining tests and the tri series later. India was almost on the verge of winning this test but a heartbreak in the end.

Azharuddin 141 against pakistan at eden garden 1987 feb 11 videos highlights need all cricket loving people request. FEBRUARY 11 GOVERNMENT HOLIDAY FOR INDIA so i watched azharuddin 51 runs. Very sharp memory indeed.. I was in 5th class. Still remembered the great euphoria was there over this series in the January of '87. Soon after the series the Sharjah Cup was organised in April (last Indian team's tournament before the Reliance World Cup) Pure nostalgic.
