I just became a Portuguese citizen. I'm 38 and haven't been to Sao Miguel since I was 16. I'm visiting in the summer to see my family and I plan on retiring there. MUITO SAUDADES!!!

Thanks Noemi for sharing this video and to make the best of your day because I know exactly how frustrating it can be because they don’t have always the right information LOL… well it was very nice to see a new fresh video of my Vila Franca where I was born and I know a lot has changed since my last visit which was in 1998 it was a long time ago 😢well may god bless you on your new journey 🙏❤️👍

Hi Joe, thanks for stopping by! Yes haha, I guess dealing with bureaucracy can be fun, but eventually, that's the case in every country. Vila Franca is an amazing town! And thank you, all the best to you!

I love your videos so much. It's so beautiful in Azores. But your videos make me sad because I really miss being there myself. I left in 1992 and I haven't been back since. Thanks for making the videos though, I'll keep watching and keep trying to make it back there too.

Great channel! I am supposed to visit Sao Miguel later this month. I would like to rent an ATV (quadriciclo). Is this something common in Sao Miguel? If yes, do you know where I can rent one? P.S i am not looking for a tour, I am looking to rent one instead of renting a car.
@noemimikleova2 жыл бұрын
Hello! Thanks for stopping by! I am quite sure it is possible to rent ATVs, I see people driving them around! However, I do not know which company rents them …

Going to Sao Miguel and Flores in September. If I see any Slavs marching along in full cossachok outfit i'll be sure to scream your name.

😂😂😂 … what is a “full cossachok outfit” though?

i have a question about costs and work.. can i ask you i do not know if you have time or if you are creating a video for it
@noemimikleova Жыл бұрын
Hi James. About work - I think it is a HUGE advantage if you speak Portuguese (I mean, even in the tourism sector, or restaurants, etc. it is necessary to speak the language). I don’t know what kind if work do you have in mind though. Then costs, accommodation - depends which part if the island; Ponta Delgada is more expensive then outside the city. But then everything else such as groceries, cost of living, clothing, etc. - I don’t find it more expensive than continental Portugal.

Been following your vlogs since you first arrived in the island. Did you decide to stay in São Miguel? Werent you here just for 1 year to study in the university or something?
@noemimikleova2 жыл бұрын
Yes you are right! I came here for a university exchange program - for one year. Eventually, I transferred universities and decided to finish my degree here.
@ALV0002 жыл бұрын
@@noemimikleova Oh thats cool! That means you're enjoying the islands and our university, I hope. I remember watching your first videos and i was under the impression you didnt really like the islands, like they were too rural for you and maybe with too much poverty. Glad you got to find positive things here. Good luck for the rest of your degree. If you have biology proibably my aunt is your teacher.

Naomi, the Azores looks similar to the Bahamas. Have you been to other islands other than the Azores? Do you have an email?
@noemimikleova2 жыл бұрын
Charles, hi, thanks for stopping by! I have visited (and lived) on some some other islands previously. I lived on a Greek island and also on Sardinia, in Italy. Other than that, I just visited some others for a short period of time!

Nice to visit...but I don't think I'd live there. The idea of earthquakes, volcano erupting, tidal wave, powerful typhoon, lack of proper medical facilities, poor internet, or food being cut off from being delivered due to some world issues...just doesn't convince me. But looks nice for a visit.
