To resolve dns. You can simply make an entry on host file. In system32\etc folder. Private end point ip. Sqlminame

If it is from one machine we can however if you want resolution from multiple machines then it is not viable solution.

Hello there, i get to gour video when i searching something on google.I must its a informative simplified video great stuff... I need to know something whuch you picked up in a video but didn't discuss in detail due to time constriant may be. How do you connect azure services in azure ecosystem to MI private end point. As with AZ services you hardly any control on azure spin up machines so it is different to ones personal laptop per say? To put this in perspective how does Az Devops hosted agent connect to MI private end point? Once again thanks for your video. Cheers

i just want to know this.. can we connect Azure SQL mi from ADF (same vnet) using private host name without creating a private endpoint since it's in same vnet...answer me asap

Hi Vamsi, can we connect from our local laptop to Azure SQL(Not MI) using Point to site VPN?

It should work. But remember the concept of vnet is not there for Azure SQL where as in case of Mi we do have Vnet and inbound and outbound rules as well.

If i need to connect from an Azure resource to MI in another vnet, can i just add it to inbound rules of NSG for the MI vnet

If the resources are in different Vnets then just adding the NSG rules will not suffice. We need to have connectivity between them using peering or VNET Gateways
