Lets dive in to the new version of Azure Update Manager! Please make sure to read the description for the chapters and key information about this video and others. ⚠ P L E A S E N O T E ⚠ 🔎 If you are looking for content on a particular topic search the channel. If I have something it will be there! 🕰 I don't discuss future content nor take requests for future content so please don't ask 😇 🤔 Due to the channel growth and number of people wanting help I no longer can answer or even read questions and they will just stay in the moderation queue never to be seen so please post questions to other sites like Reddit, Microsoft Community Hub etc. 👂 Translate the captions to your native language via the auto-translate feature in settings! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rJuSaJZetc2pnX0.html for a demo of using this feature. Just started moving to this recently from the V1 model, you’ve filled in a few gaps of understanding. This will help with my continued improvements of how I am running it. As always, thanks John.

Great video. I'll be starting to migrate from the v1 version to this now v2 version. I've not ARC enabled the servers yet, so I'm looking forward to diving into that.

Great content as usual. I wish I paid attention to the offset before creating 10 different maintenance schedules for 3rd monday, 4th tuesday etc. I just didn't realise that the 3rd monday won't necessarily be the monday after patch tuesday 😅😅

Thanks John! I just implemented this for my clients. I’m struggling with unsupported VMs for CIS hardened images as well as Azure migrated VMs not being able to schedule updates

Does anyone know if you can use Azure Update manager to update Vms on different tenants? It works with multiple subscriptions but I cannot see how you can update all VMs on different tenants across your organisation.

The only thing holding us back is the pre and post scripts. We have servers that are off that we turn on to patch and turn off. We also have others that need services stopped before patching. Lots of unique situations in our enterprise footprint. Like any other enterprise. Great to hear it is now GA (one prerequisite for us) and that the script option is coming.

I use scripts/runbooks in exactly the same way. Hopefully this will come along soon but, in the meantime, one should be able to use the same runbooks just with schedules attached rather than being automatically triggered by UM

Don’t NEED it. You can. WSUS, WU, MU or any of the Linux package managers can act as repositories.
