This is my favorite B-Bender lesson on KZfaq. Thank yo so much! The easiest way to know what chord you are playing in your Twang Box would be to barre the A Shape chord instead of the E Shape. In other words, on the fifth fret, just play the barred D chord.

I appreciate your positive feedback on the lesson and see what you're saying about another way to quickly find the TwangBox for any given key. Much easier than counting down or up from the key you're playing in - thanks!

Exactly! You just play a sus2 chord using the A shape from CAGED, and use the bender to pull into the major chord

I like it, Twaing Bawx. My Bruv lives in Awestin. I shall work on that tomorrow, I'm bushed right now. Thanks y'all. I dont have a B-Bender right now, but the Box I'll try. Thank y'all for the lessons. I wisk i could play like Roger McGuinn, I know it takes time, probably a year, but I'll get there eventually. Cheers Mate.

Great ideas to sound funky in a country context, no got to get my B Bender Tele up & running!! Also the way you explain this is to circumvent any theory, chord CAGED shapes etc, so people can get straight to getting some great licks quickly. I understand the 7th & sus chord stuff, but as your showing you dont need to understand why it works, and this is a fantastic way to play killer licks use those chords, cheers from Melbourne Australia

I recently bought a 40th Anniv Squier TELE ----ON SALE----at Sweetwater, and THEN, bought the Certano G & B Bender, from David Certano in France, and a delight to work with him in that purchase. I just got the bender installed.....unfortunately, took 2 days LESS THAN FIVE weeks, for some ridiculous reason, and finally got the Gtr back yesterday. A lot less intrusive than the major surgery needed with the strap bender. SO I get to bend the G or B strings, or both. Love the sound of a bender, and look forward to now learning how to effectively play and use it. Thanks...I will watch this, as it will be of some help for at least the B string.

Thanks for the great video. I found I can find the positions quicker if I just think of where those notes are on the A string and bar the shape there. Your lesson got me rolling pretty quickly. It also got me thinking about non-bender runs in a different way. Thanks agaon

Question: Can this work...? I'd like to set up a Telecaster with a B-Bender tuned to an open 'G' chord, known as "Spanish Tuning" and popular with Delta blues players and I want to play it with a slide. If I wrap the 'B' string around the pull post backwards so that pulling the strap lever lowers the note rather than raising it a half tone, I could get my minor chords, theoretically... Do you think that could work...??? I don't want to invest time and money into a project like that if It's not going to work. What do you think...?

I know this is a stupid question, but help would be appreciated. What is Short-Throw, Medium Throw, and Long Throw mean. I figured it meant how much pull the lever needs. Is that correct?
@thebenderbunker
@thebenderbunker 9 ай бұрын
Howdy - that's basically it. The amount of pull to fully activate the bender to its max position. The tension/resistance will be the same for all throws but it will just take a bit more pull to get the bender fully extended with a long throw vs. short. Some players like a longer throw to more easily milk a slower bend. I use a med. throw. Hope this helps - Keep it Bent!

Ive been looking at all the different B Bender designs - Ive come to realize the original Clarence design with routed back is still the best... The Rolling benders. Palm benders/ Edge system etc do not capture the sound and Im trying to figure out why but I think its a case of the player having to stop picking to activate the palm bend and then resume picking.. None of the examples are as smooth as and as lush sounding.. The Hip bender comes close
@thebenderbunker

Agreed. I move my pick hand a lot to vary attack and twang and can't see keeping it anchored in one position to activate a bender lever. Shoulder pull is the best option for me personally. Thanks for watching and Keep it Bent!

I've been using one from comfortstrapp.com since I installed the bender and it's worked very well.
