Raw and parboiled paddy requires particularly gentle handling in order to prevent breakage. The three-stage drying process employed by Bühler is extremely fast and nevertheless gentle to the product. It reduces moisture content from approx. 35 % to about 12 %. Different temperature settings and „rest periods“ in so-called tempering bins increase throughput capacity without any damage to the product.
In 2015 Bühler installed its so far biggest paddy drying process at Siam Parboiled Company Limited in Ang Thong, Thailand.
One drying line for raw paddy (3 Eco Dry + 2 continuous tempering bins, capacity 47 t/h drying raw paddy from 30% moisture to 14% moisture). One drying line for parboiled paddy (3 Eco Dry + 2 continuous tempering bins, capacity 56 t/h, drying parboiled paddy from 36% to 14% moisture).
