Hard Knock Tv's Nick Huff Barili sits down with B Real of the legendary group Cypress Hill for in-depth interview. The interview begins with B Real talking about his childhood growing up in a Mexican and Cuban household in LA, riding around on BMX bikes as a child, being pulled into gang life and leaving the street life to join Cypress Hill. As the interview continues, B Real and Nick talk about Latino's contributions to the four elements of Hip Hop and how a lot of times people forget that Latino's have been part of the culture since the beginning. DJ Charlie Chase of the Cold Crush, Devastating Tito of The Fearless Four, Prince Markie Dee of Fat Boys, Rock Steady Crew, and Graffiti artist like Lee Quiñones are all examples of Latino's who played a major role in Hip Hop at its birth. Often times Hip Hop radio stations will hire Latino djs as on air personalities but won't play Hip Hop music created by Latinos. Why are there not more Latino rappers in main stream Hip Hop? B-Real points out that Cardi B has become a superstar but not many Latino artists are getting love in mainstream Hip Hop. With Cardi's success, hopefully artists like Snow tha Product and Revrie will get their shine too.
