I own both the b&t and scorpion and while I agree with most of what you said, in reality, once you factor in street price and the price of the respective braces, the price of the b&t is substantially more expensive

I’m glad you guys called out the scorpion crowd. I hated mine. I put maybe 150 rounds into it and I just absolutely couldn’t take it. While I disagree with you guys from time to time, this was one of the most spot on reviews you guys have ever put out.

What I was told by B&t is that they tested the ghm9 up to something like 10k rounds. To ensure it held up to their durability standards. The APC9 was put through a far more rigorous testing regiment. Something like 50k rounds to ensure it met their standard. Basically they reinforced or redesigned anything that gave them issues. The idea being that civilians would rather have a fun gun at a cheaper price because they rarely hit 10k rounds in a single weapon quickly. While the APC9 was meant for military and law enforcement. Meaning that you could run the weapon through 60 years of service (like the mp5) with minimal issue. All that being said, I am recovering this from something they told me at shotshow like 6ish years ago so please forgive any errors. I believe they also took most if not all of the parts in the APC to failure so they could recommend replacement intervals. I think the round count alluded to was 100k+. The hollow point issue was because they can't or don't use hollow points in Europe for some reason. They never tested them because they didn't think to. I also remember being told that they took a minute to fix the issue because they had trouble getting enough hollow points to properly test the weapon. Again because of restrictions or something to that effect.

Jake you are close, it stands for advanced police carbine, there entire line up is for the Swiss police SWAT units, they do have military contracts as well but mostly for police units around Europe

Currently, I can find one of these for around 1200. What’s nice is I won’t have to really replace anything just more add to it and already has a place to mount the sling so for the time being I will wait till I can afford a brace.

Very nice video, thanks. Imo this compact version of the ghm9 makes the most sense if you are looking for a small light package. I'd even recommend sticking to the folding stock cause it's cheap and lightweight and gets the job done. In close combat situations a holographic sight like the Holosun 510c makes picking up targets perfect. The modularity to change handguards and barrels is a great option to have. The priece is right on this one. I got it myself in the described configuration 👌

I have both an APC9 and GHM9. The difference in recoil is marginal, not enough to justify the price difference IMO. I love both but I def feel like the APC9 is more expensive just because people want whats used in the Army. I think the APC9 looks better than the full length GHM9 but the "K" version changes that IMO. The scorpion on the other hand isnt a bad firearm, but I owned it for about 2 weeks before deciding to suck it up and get the top of the line after realizing how cheap it feels.

Ghm9 maybe a pick up I like it. My favorite is still my mpx k in the sub category.

Probably the best review I've watched to date on the GHM. Have plans to pick up a K version soon. Just wish there were more brace options that I didn't have to sell a kidney for. May just end up going the SBR route, but didn't see many stock options and of course there's the 922r compliance B.S.

I had a chance to shoot both before deciding to get the ACP9K. I was lucky enough to have the $ for it so just went for it and the wife was out of town. I will say that my main deciding factor was non vs reciprocating charging handles. I know lame but it is what it is, anyways I am getting a GHM now, why? MODULARITY! You can add tons of stuff and not have to prioritize due to space. Thank you for comparing both showing the pluses and the minor if any negatives. Love your channel.

I literally just started getting into B&T today cause I stumbled upon The Collector showing off his B&T KH9 and it looked so amazing! I haven’t liked B&T for so long but this past week My taste in guns is changing so much now I’m looking at buying B&T SPC9 SD and a NightHawk BDS9😅

The ghm9 gen 2 with its cost and taking Glock mags that was the seller for me. I will say you need the expensive B&t brace but it’s worth the money over the other cheaper options. I put a linear comp on mine and love the look. I also like the ability to put another AR grip on it which I did. Makes it feel more high end. I also love the ability to put the charging handle on whatever side you want. It’s super easy to do. You can tell the gun is made well. The apc with the Glock lower and add that brace is just too much. The ghm9 is just perfect. I got mine for 1500 from my local shop. Can’t beat it. Also I’ve ordered things from B&t online super fast shipping. Awesome review.

I came for the crispy visuals, but I stayed for the crispy dog visuals.

While the Scorpion indeed feels cheap especially before upgrades, it’s so fun to shoot and the reliability tends to be nothing short of incredible. I went well over 1k rounds suppressed before cleaning and never had a malfunction. I cleaned it but did it out of boredom more than anything.

I'd like to know how Dan made his safety selector easier to manipulate? I have a GHM9-C as well, and the safety is super stiff. Thats the one thing I dont like about it.

Great video - you guys are a lot of fun - and you didn't even shoot anything! Still, it made me subscribe and like. From a manufacturing point of view (and I do have experience) my opinion is the difference in cost comes down to a Mil-spec manufacture versus a consumer spec. The GHM has the greater flexibility in build because it is consumer based spec - they can do more things to accommodate a larger market that demands it without impinging on a gov contract.. The APC9, (my guess), is built on the same line and to the same spec as the SCW9 for the US Army, just like the SP5 is built on the same line to the same spec as the MP5. In general, that means higher spec materials, tolerances, inline QC, and elevated rejection rates, as well as the Teflon finish you mention (not easily discerned differences). The differences will really only show after decades of use and there is no way that consumers run any gun harder than the military will (unless they just sit crated in boxes for 50 years waiting to be surplussed). It's probably easily solved by just asking B&T.

Anyone privy to how they fit the modbutton switch+mount on there? I just got my hands on one and the light mount arm impinges off the square shoulder of the handguard...

I just picked up a GHM9 Gen2 Compact W/ Sig Lower for $1000... cheapest CZ Scorpion Micro is $1050. For the same price I rather have a better Swiss made firearm that uses a metal frame instead of an all polymer build like the Scorpion. With the GHM9s hydraulic buffer, it shoots softer than the Scorpion too. The Scorpions have had some documented issues with out of battery detonations and defective firing pin blocks as well. The biggest downside of the GHM9s is the obvious brand-name price gouging of the telescopic braces.... $200+ for a Scorpion.... $600+ for a B&T. A3 Tactical has a GHM9 direct fit folding skeleton brace starting at $200 though. I had a Scorpion Micro and I liked it... though the GHM9s are just a better made firearm in my opinion, especially getting one for the same price as a Scorpion. Kudos to the Scorpions for their non-reciprocating charging handle and their well made cheap mags, though I have Sig P320 mags and now that Sig has a 30 round 9mm P320 steel stick mag... makes this an even better buy for me. Now, in a theoretical SHTF situation, and I need to “forage” for magazines, I am much more likely to find Glock or Sig magazines than CZ magazines for sure. At the end of the day, for the same price, it comes to "which one is more durable, reliable, and that I would trust my life with?" Answer for me: GHM9

Does this mean I need to slow it down somehow, will using the full length help possibly? It ran fine without the can. I will have to try 115gr target thru it next. Awesome vid

You guys are not wrong about the scorpion, I shot my buddies SBRd one and I couldn’t believe how much recoil it had (it wasn’t harsh but for a 9mm, it’s harsh) plus the cost of upgrading it, your literally paying another $1k in parts lol. At the time I had a stern 9mm conversion upper and it shot way smoother and had absolutely no recoil lol. Insane to me!

Keep on going back-and-forth on his gun it seems like a great investment for something high-quality and where the problems have been fixed. The only thing I’m still curious about is I heard that the magazines are very fragile hence I was going to try and find one with a Glock or an sig lower. I bought my Scorpion EVO Pistol from Prepper Gun Shop November of 2017. It is the FDE version and it came with the scorpion folding stock with fde cerakote and Gearhead Works FDE mod 1 Tailhook. They also included 2 extra 35 round Manticore mags and a case. All of that for $899.99. I added the HB Industries mini AK safety selectors that cost me an additional $50.00. It has been rock solid. I will have to try and get my hands on a B&T and try it out. For the price I paid for the Scorpion I don’t think the B&T would impress me enough to pay that much more.

I love the aftermarket trigger, which I would do, but I was told that B& t recommends against it I was thinking for a home defense weapon. I should probably leave the trigger alone.

absolutely no clue how he was able to install a modbutton on this. The angle of the mount on mine is off and is impeded by the receiver hence impossible to attach.
