@@TheBb6prelude not necessarily. Once you’re in a certain power range a longer gear ratio will benefit you more than a shorter one.

Very nice comparison. I'm going with the b16 for my b20v. Main purpose is to get the best track times possible.

Thanks, from my opinion both trans seem to do the same amount of work as in powerwise. Just that the gsr has a longer duration of gears. I have yet to test this at the track so we will see!

I think the wider ratios of the GSR trans better suits the wider powerband of B18Cs, LSVs and B20Vs. That's just me though. I also prefer the 02-04 type s gearing to the 05-06

B17 trans (92-93 GSR) with a LS 5th gear swap and LSD. That's where I'm headed.

Gsr is best only need 4 gears to get down the track b16 transmission you got to raise rev limiter on 4th gear if you don't you will have to grab 5th gear the last 100 feet before the finish line which is not good

Meh. I don’t drive swap hondas for mpg. I had a b16 with a 4.92 final drive and would gap many cars just leaving it in 5th gear for 4K rpms on the hwy. f2b hatch.

I have a b16 non lsd transmission with my b20, I also have a jdm integra type r transmission that I pulled as the syncros where fucked. Gonna rebuild that transmission and put it in as the gears is even tighter than the b16 and the type r has a lsd. I'll be doing close to 5k rpm on the highway with they type r tho haha wish me luck with fuel economy

You have a BAD exhaust leak. Get it fixed I had a problem not as bad an I always STUNK like a tail pipe lmao it's not your dip stick! The exhaust is not supposed to come into the car! Very surprised everyone on here just thinks it's the norm. I've had 5 B series from b16b- to b18c5.

B Series I would definitely go with a LSD b16 transmission with all b16 gears with the exception of a GSR or LS 5th gear
