The first episode in our BABOK Untangled series. A series of 9 webinars in which we will talk you through the BABOK and explain the different key concepts, perspectives, knowledge areas and competencies that are important for performing business analysis.
In this episode we discuss chapter 1 and chapter 2 of the BABOK, explaining what Business Analysis is and what some of the key concepts are for performing business analysis. With every chapter, we will discuss best practices and examples to add more context to the different theoretical explanations.

Wow, Really well done. I started watching this as a precursor for my BA course coming up, and at first it took me some time to get involved with the webinar, but that lies squarely on my shoulders as studying has fallen out of favor over the last several years. So turning on my studying braincells took a moment. But both the structure and the pacing was excellent, as well as both your knowledge of the subject matter! I thoroughly enjoyed it and looking forward to the follow up for me to process! And even though I can hear you are Dutch, your vocab is excellent and you formulate very concise yet seemingly of the cuff. Well done! Slide deck was top notch as well BTW. 10/10

I enjoyed repeating the business needs initiating the generation of business requirements, stakeholders requirements, solution requirements and transition requirements in a cyclic manner, and in parallel the requirements vs designs in analogy to needs vs solutions. the introduction of IGOE model used in all BABOK KA tasks is the foundation. Thanks for the sharing.

I really liked the content and as I am in an early stage of doing business analysis job this series of videos are excellent source of knowledge, totally to the topic and very well in terms of the accent of speakers, the content and .... my question is if there is a chance to participate in the next webinars if you'll plan to have them in future? Thank you very much for this tutorial. I would like to raise a question on BABOK knowledge areas. what are the BABOK knowledge areas and their corresponding tasks are associated with the following Business analysis challenges? The challenges are Changing Requirements, Low quality of specified requirements, lack of skills of management/analysts, Lack of proper documentation, communication and coordination problems, undefined process and undefined role, Lack of skills of stakeholders.

Hi Dipu, You are spot on with your questions, that knowledge area we didn't cover yet and has everything to do with "Requirements Life Cycle Management" which will be covered in chapter 5 of the BABOK and will be our next episode! Things we will discuss that touch your questions are "Requirements Traceability and Assess Requirement Changes". So stay tuned for our next episode which will be released in May 2022.

We did not make a specific episode on techniques because we actually integrated the techniques into the various knowledge area episodes. Are there any techniques you are specifically interested in? We are thinking of creating a specific technique series. Did you pass the exam?

Thank you so much for this. I have attended and paid for many tutoring lectures but none explained the basis and concepts of Business Analysis from scratch as well as you guys do. 'Untangled', you absolutely nailed that.

Wow! That is truly amazing feedback. Unfortunately there is many paid content out there that is very poor quality. We are now working on a paid version of our own that covers 21 hours of content. We will post it here if it goes live.
