In this Slay the Spire gameplay, Baalorlord does an Ascension 20 run with Silent. First, he gives tips on choosing a path and a starting bonus. Later on, he explains his decision for each card he chooses and why it's important to the build. Towards the end, he gears up for an epic Heart fight you don't want to miss. The thing about baalor that I admire the most is how he is able to analyse the situation so quickly and so accurately. I usually snap pick cards or get so overwhelmed with thinking

I made this observation in another one of his vods...he makes plays I never would've considered, and they are quite often much better than what I came up with after analysis. Probably the biggest thing I learned watching him that made me a better player is to not to get too attached to actually playing any particular card - sometimes it is 100% correct to exhaust Bludgeon rather than trying to play it, for instance.

Me, getting early poison cards: "Where's the dang catalyst? Hello? Catalyst?!" Baalor, getting early poison cards: "And I'll take this Catalyst and this Catalyst and this Catalyst and this Catalyst. Another Catalyst? Eh, sure, why not." And remember, he SKIPPED TWO BURSTS!

I mean, you have to remember he only picks the successful runs to upload to KZfaq. For every run like this there's a bunch of runs that die to gremlin nob on stage 1

That's the gist of it really. Baalor plays so much Spire that it would be very unlikely for runs like this not to happen sometimes. He currently has almost 8000 hours of Spire logged on his steam.

Who needs Burst or Nightmare when you've got -four- FIVE Catalysts in your _base_ deck?

Do you ever try other mods besides the QoL ones you usually run? I have a lot of fun with the Bundle of Food mod, it adds a bunch of fun relics, including some that lead to new boss fights!

Yes he does modded runs every so often, the one I've seen the most is the biomes one with small card tweaks like a double prepared or a 0 cost 4 damage strike called Tiny Strike

yeah the poison was nice but the tori is my mvp. made act 1 so much easier

you still play this game with potion saving that backfires in the end. it nearly ALWAYS costs you more health than it saves. use potions when they are best used, period. it is the way.
