In this Slay the Spire gameplay, Baalorlord does an Ascension 20 run with Ironclad. First, he gives tips on choosing a path and a starting bonus. Later on, he explains his decision for each card he chooses and why it's important to the build. Towards the end, he gears up for an epic Heart fight you don't want to miss. I use a few mods for Slay the Spire. All of them are Quality-of-Life improvements and do not have any effect on the gameplay. Here are all of the mods I have active:
Slay the Relics Exporter, used for the live stream: steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...
Relic Stats, to keep track of how many times the relic effects happened: steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...
UI Sliders, to reposition the Discard and Exhaust piles, so that they are not hidden behind the camera: steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...
Run History Plus, giving us more info in the Run Summary screen about the run: steamcommunity.com/sharedfile...
Map Marks, for path highlighting - here, typically, Green means an easy, intended path, and Orange or Red means a harder path that I might take if I get good rewards: github.com/casey-c/mapmarks

I tried a Searing Blow run today inspired by this video. It was going really well, but then I got Dead Branch and Corruption about half way through, and after stubbornly upgrading Searing Blow a couple more times I eventually had to admit to myself that the focus of the deck had shifted. Another time!

Searing blow is how I got the speed climber achievement. Searing blow, necronomicon, and a dollys mirror. It was truly bananas

I've had one. They indeed take a lot of skill to pull off (Esp at a20). Baalor is on another level.

@@neilmalhotra5724 I had one that worked as well, didn't get quite as many upgrades as Baalor, but I got a Dolly's mirror in a shop right before the act 3 boss, and you better believe I doubled my over 100 damage 2 cost 😂

I can't even count how much I died to the darklings with a searing blow deck. I keep deleting cards until I have the searing blow as the only attack and always forget about them

That has to be just about the best searing blow run possible. So many upgrades, so many shennanigans courtesy of exhaust. Still mad you didn't take a rage though, feels like it could have filled the gaps between blows with block. Then again never been brave enough to take searing so what do I know.

My first win against the heart with Iron clad was a searing blow deck. Got to copy it a couple of time once it was doing over 70 damage

Perfected kind of implies it has been made perfect, which doesn't really fit with what searing blow does since it keeps getting better and better as you keep upgrading it - it's never perfected because it could always be upgraded further.

I am definitely one of those people who just completely ignored searing blow. Believe me though, I will not be ignoring it from now on. In fact, I now just want to spam ironclad till I find an early one because of this vid 😂
