Zalute! The spirit of our ancestors lives. I am grateful for the Baba and his teaching. My last meeting with the flesh was in Winston Salem Kwanzaa a few months before the flesh decided to take sleep. Baba. Chuck Davis lives on. Crying tears of joy for the physical remembrance. The spirit lives on. I Salute You my Baba of love and life.

This video has done it for me today and I will continue with the legacy Baba Chuck Davis has left us. This is energy and the drums so many cannot live with out. Baba is smiling down and saying. Look at my families. Raspect to the artist and Baba spirit lives in through the younger generations. Many will give back to our communities through the teacher, the father, the counselor and a great big humble giant. I miss him so much. I cried and will continue. Because I met a greatness.

Baba Chuck came to Shreveport Louisiana 1983 and my life was changed forever. Mr. Luther Cox Jr. the artistic director of Inter City Row Modern Dance Company (ICR) was the host. I took the master class, I can still here his thundring voice in the dance circle "thats it, thats it , move, let the drum move deep baby, deep, move your soul." I love you Baba Chuck and will miss you.

Thank you for making this video available. I laughed and cried and wept for time passing. Watching the young folks dance Africa reminded me of the love of dance I've always had. But with time and age, the body changes. To all the performers of song, dance and poetry you are an inspiration and a joy. Baba Chuck is proud!

12:35 Women of the calabash. Learning how to listen to African aesthetics. It's not hearing. It's noticing the embodied gestures, feeling the sense of timing and rhythms interlocking, its visual --seeing how they move, and it takes time to appreciate if you are new to it. 19:25 "As a youth, I was shy... I love all I received, until this guy with the colourful suit. Who call fire and brimstone. He is a performer and and clown. The pastor said nothing but truth. So what is his problem with what the pastor said. Because nothing he is saying. Really represent Baba. Chuck Davis visionary. All he did is look bad. What a joke 😂😂😂
