I have had so many cursed levelpack and sequel ideas when playing this, and since the last time I suggested an idea it turned into reality (OLD and NEW pack) I figure I might as well try this :p

1:13 multi-letters like "ba" or "ke" are actually one of my favourite letters in the game for some reason, so i actually want to make an entire levelpack about text like that

4:49 I’ve always wanted a pack where levels physically exist in the same place as their positions on the map, so you can do things like move a level onto where water is on the map and it’ll sink if water on the map is sink, and you can like move levels into each other and just step from one level into another. So of you run Level A into Level B, all objects from Level A retain their properties and all objects from Level B retain their properties, but you can freely move between them.

I actually remember being disappointed in the main game that level is push doesn't do anything useful. Imagine if what a "level" is is broken down into "screen" and "level" or if there was a "meta" word, so that metalevel would be the overworld. Despite Baba Is You being an excellent meta game, it really seems like a missed opportunity to REALLY explore what being meta means.

The ability to visualize the level's Hub would be amazing... but that's more of a question of "how do we do this?"

Hi icely! Didn't comment for a while wasn't feeling well but I still watched the videos, great stuff honestly. For True meta, (spoilers for the meta part of the game stop reading if you haven't got the true ending), I think a portion of people would be VERY annoyed especially based on that level in meta hell where you have to transform a level to flag in order to win the level NEXT to it. I'll be honest looking back at it now it feels very clever but god did I hate that I had to look it up

fun fact: I totally lucked past that level and didn't understand, it felt like an arbitrary behavior to me that "NEAR FLAG" just worked. it was only after when I saw people's discussing and issues with the level that I realized I made the flag and did not know it was relevant to the next level hahahahaha

I'm making a Baba is You level pack called Berus is You, simulating Berusky (a Sokoban game where you have to collect 5 Keys to open the exit in each level, so you can win the level). Currently I've implemented: A key-collecting system (Bug is You, Key on Bug is Power and Empty, Powered Foot is Nudge, Moon

2:19 challenge accepted. Once I'll finish implementing the LETTER property to my levelpack (idk if letters+ already did it that way or not, but it just causes the speciifed object/text to act as multi-letters) I'll add the baserule 'Text_is is letter'

uh letter does something different. it makes all objects parse as first letter. so LEAF acts like L and BABA acts like A

About the TRUE Meta section, there's a gimmick used once in all of the basegame where LEVEL NEAR FLAG IS WIN actually wins the level if, on the map screen, there's a flag near the level you're in. Also, levels in levels. Need i say more? Also also, Chess Battle Advanced.

for the true meta levels maybe something "level feeling [property] is [something]" transforming the level into an object, and then that object turning back into the level+ something that helps emulate the property

i was (shortly) one of the coordinators for a levelpack containing ALL of these (maybe not all [lookin at you true meta {you too cba graphic ideas}])

Counterpoint: Assuming that every word functions similarly to how "ba" or "ab" do, "WALL" would not parse as "ALL", because multiletters require the word to be exactly a set amount of tiles long. This is why "n.4 n.2 n.2 n.2 n.4" didn't count as "not not" in Mathnot Mosaic, since all the fractional nots were just letters in disguise. However, technically, if FALL and either LEFT, UP, or RIGHT were in the same level, putting them together would make directional FALL (and downward FALL at the same time).

this is true but it messes with the best idea for the multiletter pack (which is the potential for "HED GEI SS TOP" to actually parse, even if it wouldn't actually parse ingame) because it'd be so unintuitive to space the sentence like that, but would be an insane mechanic IMO

@@IcelyPuzzles In all honesty, I DO wish that was already a mod. But while we're changing the rules, why not change it so that "W A L L" no longer counts as "A L L", "R O C K E T" no longer counts as "R O C K", etc.? Given the nature of conditions and prefixes, it makes sense for that to have been how it works in the first place.

2:38 if we're following the rules from the multi letters in the ABC area, no it wouldn't. doing AB A B A IS YOU in level 3 doesn't make baba you so why should WALL IS STOP make all stop?

not following those (because the point is that it would be cool to make that interaction work, but the game wasn't originally designed for that to happen, you'd need another object name besides WALL at the start)

what if "is" would be an object and then you'd see the [is is you] rule? i think the object would be an "is" text with eyes another idea: you can change different parts of speech (baba (noun), is (verb), you (property), lonely (prefix), on (infix), space (semi-meta stuff), level (meta stuff), ba (letter (and yes numbers and music symbols count as letters don't question that)), group (groups), error(???s)) into OTHER parts of speech, like if [baba is sink] and [sink is noun] baba would turn into an actual sink

hehehe, the Meta Spring levelpack I did does the sink thing (although not originally my idea) for "IS IS YOU": metatext IS can do it, although wouldn't quite be with eyes

@@IcelyPuzzles my idea for [is is you] is different, as there is a new object called "is", and not metatext (text_is). and for changing parts of speech, it wasn't limited only to noun, verb, etc.
