Second track I made for the game! This very much set the mood for the rest of the soundtrack, and shows a fairly big improvement in terms of complexity compared to the title theme. One of my favourites for sure!
Baba Is You is a puzzle game where the rules you have to follow are present as blocks you can interact with. By manipulating them, you can change how the game works, repurpose things you find in the levels and cause surprising interactions!

It's got that slightly nostalgic vibe to it, and it makes my heart clench in a very sweet way, like I'm reminded of some very good memories from the time before I remember I'm sure it's in the mode the note progression follows. I wonder what it is.

For me it’s the summer of 2019, spent many days going over to my older cousin’s house where he introduced me to a ton of new video games on PC (Baba included) that I’d never seen before since I’d grown up almost exclusively with Nintendo systems. Absolutely changed the course of my experience in gaming as a whole.

I think of this soundtrack often. Such a unique sound despite the simple instruments used. This game is not old and I've actually never played it myself, but the soundtrack just instills a sense of nostalgia for me. Maybe it's because the overall vibes of the OST remind me of the retro parts on the track "Cat" from the Minecraft soundtrack.

Weird question that may be totally misguided, does this sound similar to the ESA soundtrack because noby influenced you, or did you have a particular direction in mind when you were advising noby?

The former, if anything. I didn't specifically think of the ESA soundtrack when making this, mostly just trying to get together something that sounded good to my own ears (I'm quite new to composing), but it might be that what Noby did with ESA's soundtrack affected what kind of sounds I'd consider neat-sounding :)

@@Hempulix I'm actually really impressed that you could compose this soundtrack without being musically trained (or at least trained in composition), I guess game development sponsors an entrepreneurial spirit across the board! I've been throwing the ESA soundtrack on at work sometimes for the past couple years and I'm happy I have a new batch of songs that fit the same role with a new vibe. Also, thank you for the games of course. Baba blew my mind repeatedly, I can't imagine basing an entire game on a completely original mechanic, thats not something that is done often or well. And, me being a simple man who likes guns and grappling hooks, ESA was one of the most memorable gaming experiences I've had in the past 4 years. Sometimes a game comes along that feels like it was crafted specifically for you, ESA was one of those games.
