TRUE. Search for Whitney Houston live 1993 medley. Even better and powerful. But the perfomance's ending (the runs in head voice) in 94 at AMAs i think she did better, she add more vocals. Both are outstanding masterpieces

THE VOICE!!! God's given talent was ruined by bad life choices... Love you Whitney !!!
@deshaunx776

Yes to the love for Whitney, but Bullshit on the rest. The only bad choice Whitney made was feeling like she owed anyone anything. Her family, business partners, friends, lovers, fans…everyone took advantage of her loving nature & kindness. Her talent never left and there is plenty of proof. She did change. Her voice was a reflection of the hell she was going through. On each album, her voice itself tells the true story. Imagine if she had her debut album voice during the MLIYL era. Evolution is not a loss of talent. Doing drugs certainly was not a bad choice. She was a 16 year old with anxiety so severe that she sang with her eyes closed. Her brother gave it to her, and several other adults, including famous musicians, encouraged her to use cocaine as a remedy. That was a sound decision. Some people can kick an addiction, some can’t. That isn’t a choice.

What's so ironic about this is this is when the world crowned her the greatest, including the black urban audience, before this album they said she was too white because of the huge pop success she had off the first two albums and also this soundtrack put it all together and now it was ok to be pop as a black artist, they seen where the pop songs took her and she meant that , when she said ur GONNA LOVE , I'm not going.They (industry black radio) tried to bring Mariah in calling her the new version of Whitney that was more RNB but the sales and success of the first 2 and even 3rd album and this soundtrack made her the biggest selling female singer in the world at this time. She also had the most number 1s 10 and she was a movie star, next level! Not Madonna, Mariah or Barbara were selling more then her , she was on top of the world this performance just cemented it!

WTH are you talking about. Houston was never the top selling female artist at any time in her career, she never outsold Madonna (at any point) Marian was the biggest selling female artist of the 90s, Madonna the 80s, Donna Summer the 70s, Every woman you mentioned were in movies. Streisand was the next level movie star with several Oscar Nominations for acting, songwriting and directing. Madonna won a Golden Globe. Houston's first movie the Bodyguard set a record for the most Razzie nominations. Houston getting 2 herself, one ever crowned her the greatest (exactly when did this happen ?). She was booed at the first Soul Train Awards back in 1988 ( I believe) when her nomination was announced, because the awards were created to celebrated the R & B industry. Houston had contract with a major label, with major backing. Not an industry label or an smaller Urban label which the Awards were created to celebrate. The comment about her singing too white was just an excuse for what transpired at the awards. For her next album she used urban producers and writers the album sold significantly less than the previous ones. Your information is not reality based at all......

@@murraysmither7996 Actually during the bodyguard era Whitney was selling the most…. madonnas numbers was clearly inflated because her singles didnt sell…. Whitney was everywhere from 1983 to 2005…. so dont do thatt…. and actually she was booed at the 1989 awards not 88…. pls dont listen to what that movie tells you…. the weird part is your coming to a Whitney vid to hate for what exactly??? if you have a big negative opinion towards her why even click the video???😂

Aww, I’m so happy to see young people give Whitney her flowers ❤❤. She started out with the song called I love you Porgy. It’s a song from the 1935 black opera Porgy and Bess. Porgy and Bess was made into a movie in 1959 with Harry Belafonte and Dorothy Dandridge. (Whitney knew her black music history and gave homage by singing this song). The second song is of course from the Broadway play Dreamgirls. Originally sang by Jennifer Holiday and remade by Jennifer Hudson.

Whitney is "Extra" - She sings with passion, she feels the music, she tells the story, for me thats what makes a great artist :) - Just a bit of info... Whitneys mom was one of Elvis Back Up Girl Singers when he returned to Las Vegas, she was part of his female back up group called The Sweet Inspirations, over time they shared many wonderful stories of their time with Elvis, they adored him like he adored them. Whitney got to meet Elvis when she was younger. The song I have Nothing was written by David Foster (music) and a Lady called Linda Thompson (Lyrics) Linda, was a long time girlfriend of Elvis (after he parted with Priscilla) she was the only other woman who lived with Elvis at Graceland full time. The lyrics to I Have Nothing she wrote based on her relationship with Elvis, just a little bit o trivia for yall.

beating my JJ drum again, Whitney and her daughter Kristina loved Jessie voice, they were excited to be meeting her, Jessie idolised Whitney, she was her inspiration to as she says it "sing loud" unfortunately, Whitney passed away a day before they were due to meet :( Claude Kelly has worked with many many artists, written for many including Whitney, MJ, Jessie. he recently said that of all the artists he has worked with Whitney & Jessie were his favourites, they both gave light and hope with their voices and both encouraged him to sing also... You really need to check out I Have Nothing Jessie J The Singer 2018 and also the lyrics come up which may give an insight into Lindas relationship with Elvis, he was the love of her life... Unfortunately, it didnt work out and they parted just a few months before he passed...

Shes also the mum of Brody and Brandon Jenner - she was married to Bruce Jenner (athelete) with whom she had her 2 sons (a long time before he transisioned) she also wrote the lyrics to - To Where you are (Josh Grogan) those words also based on her love for elvis xx

I don't think Whitney's bad life choices spoiled her talent or career. A voice can only last so long, and she was on the road 11 months of the year.. year after year.. You can't say she didn't give it all she had either.. or that her life was particularly tragic.. more of a rollercoaster. The drugs were just part of the pressure cooker to keep her on a creative high.. night after night. It caught up with her eventually.. no surprises there. But.. and I don't know how she did it.. there was still that last great album, with all her vocal tricks on show again. But she celebrated with another bad life choice, and went on another huge financial pressure cooker tour that, to her own embarrassment, all but destroyed her resurrected but still fragile voice. Not to worry. Nippy, as always, has even in heaven found a way to get back on top back here on Earth.. Her angelic recorded voice can now be heard ringing out at its best all over the planet again. And she lives on in millions of people's hearts. That is some kind of legacy..
