His makeup artist karen faye testified in the aeg wrongful death trial that 2 hrs before this concert she went to his room to get him ready and a doctor said he just gave him meds and he would be asleep 8 hrs. She had to drag him out of bed and walk him around the room for an hour. He was barely coherent, but the second he got onstage he snapped out of it immediately. Firstly, those kind of doctors are criminals and second it shows his incredible talent and purpose that he came alive when he hit the stage

This was so iconic because MJ haven't done a concert in the US since 1988-1989 during the Bad Tour or History Tour 1997. Also very much significant for the Jacksons, since all of the 6 brothers haven't performed together since 1984 from the Victory Tour. This was part of a concert celebrating 30 years of Michael’s solo career and he reunited with his brothers for the first time in 17 years to do a set of classic Jacksons/Jackson 5 hits.This performance was at Madison Square Garden in New York City the night before the 9/11 attacks. In fact, Michael was supposed to be at the World Trades Center for an appointment the morning of the attacks but his mom kept him up on the phone the whole night and he overslept.
