Just so you know, and speaking for the public system, any teacher who describes what they do as babysitting isn't a very good teacher. There is significantly more to it than that.
@elyshataylor2762

Exactly. She might be talking to the wrong teachers because every teacher I’ve known, myself included, is stretched to the limit with the amount of work that goes into teaching. High school teaching in particular is VERY demanding and hands-on. her comment on this seems really insulting and I’m sad that she thinks I just ‘babysit’ 🫤 I agree with Sarah on 99% of things but this was just really disappointing

As a young-ish mama of 4 who is still grieving the fact that I can’t have more kids hearing a young mama talk about being done, not wanting more and enjoying the older ages so much is SO reassuring. Thank you for being so open and honest. A video all about homeschool, curriculum you loved/hated, types of learners your kids are, homeschool older kids and younger ones at the same time, etc. would be sooo helpful!

@@meippoliti this is amazing!! Thank you! We’ve been doing “teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons” and using Math with Confidence Kindergarten for my almost 5 year old and she loves both! Thank you so much for saying you’re not a baby person. I have felt guilty for years for not loving every stage of infancy and toddlerhood and seeing someone with multiple kids own that they’re not a “baby stage” person is so validating. You are so amazing to watch as a mother and homemaker; I appreciate you

It makes me sad that teachers you've talked to shared that they are mostly baby sitting. The profession of teaching is much, much more than that.
@Ageerum
@Ageerum 4 ай бұрын
It SHOULD be more than that but teachers all over the western world are so stretched with the amount of children in each class and all the other pressures on them that it seems that it’s hard to do more than babysitting. I had so many friends that were teaching and every single one has left within 10 years. I would love to send my kids to school, but this is the thing that would make me reconsider!

I don’t think that it’s meant as saying the teachers are lazy or not working, but with very young students especially that a lot of the time gets passed with where there isn’t actual schoolwork/learning being done. Which is to be expected with a room full of students and school full of classrooms. So it does kinda end up being similar to “babysitting” at times. Like consider the breaks, snack times, lunch, recess, even waiting in lines etc. those are necessary, but with homeschooling, you are able to get through the curriculum quickly and efficiently. Then there is more time for parent/sibling interaction and possibly doing field trips and valuable real life experiences. No disrespect to school teachers. I think most of them are truly doing their best inside the school system and it’s not an easy thing to do.
@francesholmes9486

@@linila1 I was homeschooled (also did co-ops) through 8th grade and then when to a private high school. Both were good experiences, but we definitely wasted a lot of time in high school classrooms due to poor curriculum/unprepared teachers… not every class, but definitely more than I expected. I do plan to homeschool my children when the time comes.

Phew. I stopped watching you when you left KZfaq because Instagram just isn’t my thing. This is the first video I’ve watched since you’ve been back. And it’s definitely different. It feels very rushed. Straight to the point, busy. I loved your old videos where it felt like you weren’t just trying to get through a list of things to say/do in a video. I do recognize that you have several more kids now and that being rushed and busy is simply life for you right now. My prayer for you is that you’re able to find some time to slow down here and there and take a breath. As a new mom myself, this can be extremely hard to do. But it’s so important for us to take care of ourselves too.❤️

I agree that kids are so much fun at about 3 or 4. Teen years are my favorite (I have two teens and a baby, been married nearly 20 years). I love having pops of color in my home here and there. As a minimalist, most expect me to have a fully white home, but I always have colorful curtains or plants or my handmade quilts. It was fun to listen to you talk while you were making your food. I don't think I have heard of "Memorial Press" was it you said? Must be a newer one! That's cool you were a homeschooled kid, as was your husband. That makes it easier to relate to them in that mode then too. What type of dance did you want to pursue as a kid? You must be "allergic" to clutter like me.

I absolutely love you. I enjoy your channel, and enjoy seeing the light of Jesus shine through you. You encourage me so much, during a very dark time in my life recently. Binge watching your videos helped me so much, so thank you.

I had no idea your old house was a mobile home. That’s neat. I just thought it was a small house.

How long did you breastfeed your son for? I am going on almost 6 months with my son but I am debating on quitting. I feel as if though my time is done and yeah almost feel at peace with the decision. Breastfeeding is HARD !

Genuine question, where are your kids when you're filming a chat like this?? I love these videos as it feels like chatting to a friend but I kept expecting you to be interrupted like I am with my real friends haha!

I've loved everything thing in this video. Frankly I just want to put my head on your shoulder and cry. I feel so overwhelmed my homemaking and homeschooling my Littles. Thank you for being you and reminding me that God's Grace is there for us.
