Wow, color shifting acrylic might be my new favorite paint to work with! I am SO happy with how this pour turned out and love how the colour shift and metallics look together.
There are so many cool cells and lacing patterns that it made, along with a hint of silver/purple colour depending on where you look at it! I love working with a dark base with my metallics, I think that it helps every other colour pop just a little more.
I also wanted to make sure that the canvas had a lot of colour to it and helped to create some really nice contrast. Have you ever used colour shifting acrylic, and if so, what did you think of it?

Hi Tony, new sub here. I've seen a few of your videos and am really enjoying them. I love those folk art colour shifts too. I think I have almost every one. Your colour choice is great. Another favourite colour shift is the turquoise blue one. What are you swiping with, Australian floetrol? I am working on swipes myself right now. I too am a metallic freak. I really have to force myself to throw in a nonmetallic in with my mix for contrast, because it's the sparkly ones that always catch my eye. I also have a couple colourshift TLPs as well. Great composition on your painting! Canadian fan here too, West Coast!!

Hi Joey! Another Canadian, yes! Thanks so much I appreciate it, and in this pour I’m using floetrol, Amsterdam and a few drops of penetrol which is an additive. I just made a new pour a couple of nights ago with 🇦🇺 floetrol (in my community posts) and I can’t wait to make some more with it soon!

Nice, there's no such thing as liking Metallics too much. Lol!! I like to use at least one metallic or pearl in every pour I do, they just give an extra something to the painting . Love these colors, Folk Art has some pretty nice paints !! Have you tried the Amsterdam Pearl Paints yet ? They look super nice on dark bases. Great video. 😊

I love the color shift. The teal/blue shift my fav. Blue/violet second choice. Silver flash and white flash pretty fab as well! Love your art❣️

This is so beautiful I am literally going home right now to try to re-create this! In the white paint what did you mix in it to make the cells/ lace effect

Thanks Whitney, that’s really nice of you! My cell activator is 1/3 Amsterdam and 2/3 North American floetrol with three drops of penetrol (another additive) which makes the cells. It isn’t quite Aussie floetrol, but it does the job.

I used dragon flash color change as a back ground color for an "under the sea" painting and it has a yellow sheen to it which i didnt want for a sea creature painting....

Can you share what your pouring medium is? What to try this technique and have used paint and american Floetrol.

Hi Linda! I use artists loft pouring medium and I add about 1oz of North American floetrol to it as well. It’s about 3 parts medium to 1 part paint, then the floetrol afterward. I haven’t had a chance to try Aussie floetrol yet though.
