Yes! You can make it with just extra wire or you can make it a separate piece (assuming you know height etc) and take a copper pipe run down for more stability(keep shape so it doesn’t collapse) you’ll want to think about transport and I’d bring extra stems because the part hanging will have a back and you won’t want folks to see the wire. You’ve got this!!

I am not sure if it is quicker if you are fast at making garland❤️💪🏽. But I will say this method does give added volume and structure. Transport is much more cumbersome of course as the garland can be wound up/boxed. Plus the garland in theory could be used to hang at a ceremony then transferred to a table. So both have advantages and disadvantages🥰

My table was 7’ long and I used 10 bunches. So I would at minimum double your order if you want it fluffy and cascading. The stems can break and depending on the variety can be wispy/less dense. Good luck friend! I’m sure it will be gorgeous!

I’m so excited for you! Def make the wire sausage/burrito bigger to give the stems support. Bby breath can get floppy/break so the wire will act as a skeleton/support. And maybe paint the mechanics(wire and board) white to blend with the flowers. I only painted mine black bc my table was black and wanted to be sure if I had any gaps it would not be obvious on a black table. Good luck! You’ve got this💪🏽

Hey there! Bby brth will last out of water for about 6 hours before it starts to droop slightly. Maybe try a test run before the big event with some grocery store Bby brth under conditions at your event- temp and exposure will all affect the flowers🥰. Our table was inside in ac so it lasted really well and looked great the whole event.

Hi friend! After making the armature it only takes about an hour to assemble (insert stems in chicken wire). But if I had to add all the steps: condition flowers, buy materials, build form, paint, assemble: it took about 2 days. Hope that helps. You got this💪🏽

Hi friend! Yes! 10 bunches for a very fluffy look. You can do less if you have more of a skinny need🥰. If you are going to do this vertically you don’t need the board. If it would be free standing vertical get a pipe and stick it in a base (like an umbrella base?) and wrap the chicken wire around that, then insert stems (of anything not just baby breath). If it’s free standing and 7’ tall you would need double the amount of stems since you’d want to cover the back too...if it’s going up on a wall just get a bunch of command hooks and make a chicken wire “sausage” and attach directly onto the hooks. It will be lighter than you think but need lots of support so it doesn’t fall. Hope that helps🤔

Oh, if you want it to go off the table the board on the table portion will help anchor it, just have the chicken wire go over the edge- no need for a board on the overhang

Hey there! The rolled chicken wire acts like a grid for the stems to be inserted and stabilized. They can be easily inserted and removed but it is enough of an armature to keep the stems from falling out

So do a standing arrangement I would use a pipe with a heavy base and wrap the chicken wire around that!

The height of the chicken wire tube/burrito we made was approximately 6/8inches in diameter. The height of the baby breath design really depends on how long you cut the stems. I don’t want to misguide you about how many boxes to buy so I suggest you order a box now and do a test/trial run to see how many stems you need per foot and calculate from there. In my design I used about 10 stems per foot81 feet is a lot. I imagine you’d have to make runners in 5’ sections otherwise I am not sure how you’d travel with everything! You could also skip the chicken wire and just make a garland

Hello friend! So the variety you use is all about personal preference. Some ppl hate the smell of baby breath and stick to certain varieties just for ones that have less odor. Florist friends I know order million star when they need a sturdier stem (they have smaller blooms but tend to have less breakage). Those that order xlence want more volume. I’ve also got florist friends who swear by overtime variety🤷🏽‍♀️. I *think* I used million star for this, but it’s been over a year so I can’t recall!

Hi love! The baby breath could last if you have a floral cooler but I would make it the morning of since it will be photographed for a styled shoot. I wouldn’t want to chance it. It will take maybe an hour to do if the armature is already done🥰

Most large cities/towns will have a wholesaler in town - some sell to the public and charge sales tax. Sams club or Costco though is another option if you have a membership!

You can’t keep them from dying😭. This method has no water source so it will only last about 6-8 hours in room temp. But you can find other methods that have water though and they would last way longer- days! Good luck friend!!!

Oasis would work: it really depends on your vase/vessel and if you have a water source. We rarely use oasis tho bc it’s not eco friendly so if that’s important to you check out sue mccleary videos and IG as she has great foam free designs

Baby breath is often sold by weight so you could assume anywhere from 5-10 stems per bunch: but you can cut the laterals to get more out of your bunch. For example, in the video you can kind of see us cut all the smaller laterals/branches from each main stem. Depending on the look you are going for you will use more or less from each stem🌸

Hi! I got the chicken wire from the hardware store (Lowe’s/Home Depot) in the outdoor garden area. They had it near the fencing in my store🥰

It can be made the night before if kept in a cold/cool room with AC and out of sun and heat. But if you are worried you can always water tube the flowers🥰

Absolutely you can- just be aware it may look thin/sparse and you might see your mechanics (chicken wire). Plus it will be very brittle. But could still look lovely you may just need double the stems🥰

If you want it this fluffy, I would say at least 25 maybe even 30 to be safe (one bunch per foot).

Well hey there! It’s been so long since I made this I’m not 100% sure but I believe I used a 4’x6”x1” from lowes/homedepot. You could use whatever want/need to fit your table. The board merely helped me transport and keep the wire from rolling but you could do it without the board if you need🥰.

Hi! I used 10 bunches or approximately 100 stems. The pricing is a hard question because right now the pandemic (plus fires and hurricanes) is causing prices of product and shipping to be very high...and depending on where you are that might be a good price. And my wholesalers don’t sell baby breath by the stem but by weight so I paid for 10 bunches and the cost was around $70 (I have a commercial resale license) If I had to guess I’d say there were at least 100 stems. So you might be getting a good deal. It sounds like though he will be sending you exactly 240 stems (if that price includes shipping that’s just under $1 a stem). That would be more than enough to make this 7 foot runner I would think😊. Hope that helped

Well as a florist I get wholesale pricing for flowers. I imagine you could make this yourself for around $300 including staple gun, chicken wire, paint, wood and blooms. It all depends on the price of baby breath you can get and how many bunches you end up needing though. So folks like a fuller look. Hope that helps!

Great question! You can certainly make this floral installation with a water source, however some flowers hold up just fine without water for hours. Making this without water helps it to travel, makes it lighter, and easier to place on a table. So that is why for this particular design we did not use water as it was only needed for about 3/4 hours for a party.

@@alanahay6763 yes, I stapled the chicken wire on the sides all the way down. If you have the ability, maybe test one bunch of baby breath out of water for two days and see how it holds up. Personally I would only make mine that far ahead if I had a floral cooler to keep the flowers fresh and slow the process of them wilting. Hope that helps!
