LUCKILY though, if your baby does suffer from colic, then it is really "only" just matter of weeks until it ends. We know that this does not help you right now, however, at least, you can see that there is an end somewhere... Also, did you try the treatment that we show in this video? I am her grandmother 😍, actually my granddaughter doesn't cry Outta pain or any other kind of uneasiness. She cries only for milk, she is going to be four months on April 2nd. But her spitting up is intermittent. By this I mean to say, once after the feed as soon as she is given the chance to burp, then while she does the kicking and exercise like movements and at other times 🙁🙏

The only difficulty is to identify the root of the problem: gas in the system, reflux, other gastrointestinal issues, emotional issues or issues related to the diet or the mother's diet. But if addressing reflux has helped your baby, that's fantastic! Then at least, you know where it is coming from!! 😊 That said, personally, we believe that the single most important thing to help a baby with colic are massage treatments. It is difficult to do this on a newborn (which we assume your baby is). However, you can do it!! Also, if it's getting too much for you, there are also ways to get support! Your midwife should be able to help you (by connecting you with the right people). But there are also support groups and places where you can get psychological support! Hi there Bethany! ❤️ We are very sorry to hear that your baby goes through such a painful period... ❤️ There really seems to be a lot of gas in your baby. Yes, we often observe that very windy babies get distressed during or after the massage. And it certainly has to do with moving wind. The problem is that wind cannot be released as easily as poop (for example, in case of constipation) because there may be things in the intestines which obstruct that release (such as poop). This can cause discomfort in the baby's tummy. What you can try is this: apply circular movements around your baby's belly button (in a clockwise direction because this is how the waste in the colon is moving). Try to feel if there is a spot somewhere along the baby's colon which feels firm! If you do, try to gently work on this area with tiny circular movements and see if that firm spot disappears. This can often be enough for your baby to pass wind more easily. Moreover, it should then be less painful for your baby when you apply the massage treatment. If this does not help, we can only recommend one thing: Shonishin. It's a pediatric baby massage treatment (actually, it is a form of Japanese pediatric acupuncture - but without needles). And it's a combination of classic baby massage and the stimulation of acupressure points. This is what we mostly apply to help babies because it is the most powerful treatment for babies that we are aware of.. This will neither calm your baby, nor will you be in a relaxed state when you do it. As a result, you are going to be stressed - your baby will feel that stress - and you will make things worse. So, this treatment is not intended to calm a screaming baby. The idea is to activate baby's parasympathetic system to keep baby relaxed and to balance baby's digestive system. When parents with colic babies come to the clinic, we always try to help the baby with a massage treatment. In many cases, the massage that we show in this video can help relieve the pain.
