I hated the episodes where Riley kept blaming Danny. She had no right, for years she ignored his feelings towards her, everything he's ever done to keep her happy while she was chasing Ben. Wasn't fair, Riley was mad because Danny never confided that fling to her. That's what her main problem was. She had a distaste towards Sam.

I think the fact that Danny slept with Sam is the real reason she can't let it go. Riley has and still does hate Sam because she was the most popular girl in school and got all the attention from all the boys then and now. She has always been jealous of her popularity. If it had been anyone other girl, I think she might have forgiven him.

This is how I imagined the conversation if Danny brought up the past: Riley: Because every time I look at you, I picture you and Sam together. Danny : You know Riley, that’s how I used to picture you with Jack, Fitch, Philip, Ross and even my brother. You forget that you knew that I was in love with you for 2 years. And yet, you didn’t once say anything, just parading and dating different guys while fully knowing my heart was to you. (jury gasp) Riley: But Danny- Danny: No buts. “Lied about it for 7 years?” I didn’t lie about sleeping with Sam for 7 years because you didn’t ask me 7 years ago. You asked me if I had feelings for Sam and yes I withheld the truth that we once slept together, that’s on me but you also hurt me too. You even tried to driving off any girl I tried to move on with. Milena, Amy, Georgie, Robyn even Ashley. (silence between all) Danny: I never got mad at you for who you dated. I was happy for you. I can't help but feel that Riley is just being downright unfair. She is acting as if Danny cheated on her with Sam just recently even though Danny had slept with Sam way back in High School. I find it more unfair as she wasn't even in love with or even knew Danny's feelings for her, she was head over heels in love with Ben at the time. I know she's hurt that Danny didn't tell her plus the other things he said was just idiotic, wrong and stupid, but still I hav to agree with Ben, Riley needs to learn to just let it go.

Riley kept saying the problem was that Danny lied to her. But i don’t think it was : the problem is that he specifically slept with Sam, a girl who awoke Riley’s inferiority complex. But she didn’t admit it because that would have been wrong of her and she knew it, so she pretended it was the lie that bothered her. But to be honest, Riley was really wrong here because : 1. Danny is right, he didn’t lie because she didn’t ask if they slept together but if he once had feelings for Sam, and he said no because that was only sex for a hormonal teenager, nothing more ! 2. It was 7 years ago ! At a time when she wasn’t even in love with him, didn’t even notice how much he loved her, damn it ! So what, he should have stopped himself from going out with any girl that might displease her in the future even though she was so in love with his brother 3. If he can be okay with her once dating her brother, she should be okay with him having a fling with a girl she disliked 4. Damn it, he used to be in love with her even when she was considered as unattractive, even though he was at an age when physical appearance matters very much for young men, and even though he was so popular he could have any hotter girl (I know : that’s harsh but that’s realistic) 5. I have a lot to say about this episode so get your bathroom breaks in now. The episode "Trial By Liar" both infuriates and delights me. Let's get the good stuffy out the way first. Ben acting as the voice of reason within this dilemma shows a sign of growth and maturity in his character. He usually thinks level headed when discussing Emma's welfare and the stability of her home life but when he sees his best friend and his brother at opposite ends, he goes out his way to strengthen the relationship between the two. Bonnie also gets some bonus points for standing by her son and pointing out how Danny loved Riley unconditionally since childhood and believed that they were going to make it to the end. Danny is not guilty of anything. At the time that he slept with Sam, he was a teenager and Riley was all mooney eyed over Ben and she didn't notice nor reciprocate Danny's feelings. He always behaved like a gentleman whenever she was dating other guys because he cared about her being happy and believed it was the right thing to do. Now for the bad parts... Strap yourself in real tight, because it will be one hell of a rough ride. Believe me when I say this. Riley Perrin becomes the most selfish character in the history of television, perhaps even the cosmos. I absolutely loathe this woman with every molecule in my body and I wanted to strangle her everytime she uttered one syllable in the episode. Why is she obsessing over this high school BS when in reality, nobody gives a damn about the drama back in high school because they are too busy dealing with their own BS. ( Like paying taxes, avoid diseases and scammers etc) We can clearly see that she is unwilling to listen to Danny as she has this pathological obsession to be right, which explains why she bribed 10 random women to make this incredibly selfish, entitled, immature, fake "feminist" trial to heal her bruised ego and pride. She puts all the blame on Danny who is willing to talk it out with her while she does nothing but harpy shrieks of a cold hearted she-demon of how her feelings are hurt and it's all his fault. But no, she's got it all backwards. Look Riley, you're not the victim here. In fact, you're selfish, entitled, a bored rich white blonde privileged American girl, dare I say obnoxious. So this story Arc was when I really just stopped liking Riley. She knew Danny liked her even when she was at her worst point, always kept her secrets to himself, was always supportive of her relationship, even with her brother. In previous seasons, she was still selfish and a bit of an ass, but at least she saw things from an objective view and did care. But in this story arc, she was so stupid and so emotional, she bullied both of the brothers and always acted like the victim, then when they try to move on, she keeps briniging up the past, even though she was really the only one holding on. THIS was the season where I just hated Riley.
