I took care of a few cows after my friend and their owner passed away I got so emotionally attached to them that cried when the family came and got them but I love the highlands they are so pretty love The hairy cows LOL

Great vids Tom, I used to visit a working farm for holidays in Silloth Cumbria around 20 years ago and the farmer used let me shadow him about doing his daily tasks, even took me to Carlisle auction best holidays ever, so much respect for you guys it's hard hard work and them calfs knocking you about, there strong animals, great channel you got here, gonna bring me nephew to your shop in summer and hopefully see your highlands.

Have you ever had anything strange happening with the animals? For example finding a dead cow with no blood or signs of predation. But there is no blood on the animal and some body parts missing.

a tip for halter training: once you get a halter on the animals tie the halter to an inner tube then tie the tube to a tree or strong post, then just watch them eventually they will learn not to fight the halter and it will make your life much easier. have had lots of luck using this method to train steers

I worked on a farm where we hung (I think), holly in some sheds to prevent ringworm - maybe it's that? I also heard some folks hang ivy in their sheds to do the same thing but I aint sure if either works..? Hopefully Tom will explain at some point..
