I got my dog after I had been in a wreck and almost died. I am old and have arthritis so I am often in pain. We think she is a terrier chi cross and very active and was about a year old when I rescued her. She doesn't want to be hugged but she stays where she is touching me when I am hurting. She helps me stay calm when I drive and helps me settle down when I'm upset. Petting dogs is a great PTSD treatment.
