These babies are waiting for lunch and practicing the idea of "step up." At each feeding, babies are told, "step up" when I move them in and out of the feeding basket. They learn to associate "step up" with being picked up and with something good - food!

I raised Quakers for a few years. We had all colors. They are the most precious birds when handfed!! A hand tamed Quaker is just a sweetheart.

so cute! i used to have a Quaker... she was THE most loyal pet i ever had. and i've had cats, cats are "okay." but better than a cat is a dog! and i've had lots of dogs, and dogs are okay. but a bird, devoted and hooked on to you is like no other experience i've ever had since when it comes to a pet. they are awesome little creatures :-)

Echo drop if i didn't "like" cats i wouldn't have one tattooed to my arm (lion). but taken in context, cats are really dogs with autism. a "loyal" cat is very rare, so if you have one, congrats. but i've lived a while and seen LOTS of cats and had a few as pets, and my basic assessment of their personality is: they couldn't give two shits about you or me. therefore, after "thinking" about what i have said i believe i'll stick to it and reaffirm that cats are just "ok." :-P

Echo drop i think you're an idiot because you inferred meaning and words from my comment that i DID NOT SAY. i never said i "hated" cats. i have one tattooed to my arm. it's just an OPINION based on knowledge and EXPERIENCE!!!! and in my experience (nearly 50 years) cats are NOT loyal. they are just "ok." a very few are good, and we're talking about a single digit number here, but most cats are just jerks. i want your cat to get run over not because i hate the cat or want anything bad to happen to it specifically, but because of YOU. the cat would be dead and all done hurting, but you would still be alive to feel the pain of losing your beloved (loyal) cat. you would deserve that in my opinion because you cant' read or understand fucking english words. i never said i hated cats, but cat owners? oh yeah, i fucking HATE cat owners. you can say "bye" all you like.. maybe you'll include saying bye to your cat because i still hope it gets run over by a dump truck!!!

These cute parrots are endemic to my country, unfortunately they are regarded as plague, so people mutilate them or kill them :( My granma saved a baby parrot that fell of a tree, over 20 years ago, and gifted him to us. Years later we found out that it was actually a she. She escaped after being with us for over a decade. We still hear her flying above our house screaming her name lol

My best guess is Dave is not hungry yet

I used to breed birds, in my experience chicks want to be fed even if their crops are full. Looking at the vid again, I'm wondering if Dave has just had enough of his brothers and sisters. He looks bored. Perhaps he is imagining the start of a Quake App?

I'm worried about him too. Do you think he's sad? Did he forget what he was doing? Lost his purpose? Are you ever going to know????
