hoo boy me too! Their little tiny hands are so cute. Their hands are really soft and they feel similar to human hands on the palm. Raccoon hands are close enough two human hands that the raccoons are able to turn on my smartphone and press buttons and all sorts of stuff. If I stick my finger through the cage then they will hold my finger like we're holding hands. 😍😍😍😍😍

lynn loud I rescue animals, rehabilitate them and release them when they are ready. These two moved to the country three years ago. They live by a lake now so they should be well fed on their own. 😀😁

thanks! they fell out of a dead tree when it was cut down by the city. Their mama never came back and the babies cried for hours until after dark, so long the guys said predators were gathering waiting for the men to leave so they collected them and brought them to me. Now the babies live in the wild at a state park near a lake.

I would like Gov. Cuomo to see these videos, why Law Maker's keep it illegal to have raccoons as pets, they only catch rabies if they're out in the wild. They are the greatest pet's

ali renfro do you have a large live animal Humane trap? Sometimes the city has ones that you can borrow if you do not. Raccoons are very smart but they have trouble resisting sweet food and unseasoned meat. You might try grapes or marshmallows in the trap because that is special treat for a raccoon

Ginger J* Orphaned/injured animal rehabilitation ~ I have the trap-but the little critter hasnt been seen in a bit-but the water bowl is always reminiscent of wetting food-and the dog/cat food miixture is always eaten. I have a friend who is a wild life trapper-and he is always succesful with pizza. We shall see...I don't give up so easy.

ali renfro please do try to catch it as soon as possible. If it's something simple like a dislocated shoulder or break then usually we can help but the longer it goes the harder it is especially with something dislocated. I had a raccoon that was surrendered to me after someone caught it in their house. It had been bitten by a dog or coyote and had its back leg infected and dislocated. The guy said he had seen a raccoon limping for a couple of weeks. Essentially the raccoon could not be saved because the muscles and Joints had tightened around the dislocation so much that it would require surgery and there was still no guarantee because the dog bite was so infected they thought it was a large snake bite at first. I cried in the vet cried and the sweet guy who saved the animal and surrendered it to the rescue cried also. We all tried so hard but we did not get to the raccoon in enough time because it was too busy being Wild

@@gingerjanimalrehabilitatio2792 my Wawuk (raccoon name in American Indian) is doing well and thriving-he makes the rounds in the neighborhood and is way too smart to get trapped. He now hangs out on the front lawns like a cat just watching the world go by. Everyone is now calling it my raccoon-and everyone knows he is pretty much harmless and stay clear. As soon as I get close-he bolts-he seems fine-rather healthy now minus the limp. Even my Malinois has become used to him and no longer barks at him. All the little guy needs is a lawn chair and a corona beer. I think I will leave well enough alone and not risk him being put down-he climbs the fences and is eating plenty.

Excuse me for asking, but how long have you been rescuing and rehabilitating wildlife? Sometimes they DO need soap and NO they did not eat or drink it.

+MLG_ MUSTACHE I work with a local Wildlife Center as a volunteer rescuing injured and orphaned wildlife, which we release once they are ready to go back into the wild. :D

+Ginger Johnson Hello!? By chance what state are you in? I literally just left volunteer orientation yesterday for a wildlife organization that does the same thing. Going to be trained on squirrels, cottontail rabbits, and opossums first. 😄

Princess Yaya LOL, the feeling was mutual because they hiss when they are scared. If you see one in your backyard again try feeding it grapes or marshmallows because those are some of their favorite treats. If you make friends with it they love chicken and beef also

they live in a wooded area by a lake on state property so I'm sure they found greats dens and are not around humans often

Beannie Girl LOL, they are different sizes, they have slightly different markings, and in this case the boy likes water more while the girl is more passive. She was a sweet kit whereas he was more wild and wanted to explore everything

Hannah_is_Bananas I am glad I could make you smile. When you get to California then you will encounter raccoons most likely. They're extremely intelligent but they can also be very vicious in the wild. I have two of them right now and the larger one likes to get out of the cage and stand on top and the easiest way for me to get him back in the cage/home is to bribe him by telling Will Ferrell if he goes back into his cage I will get him a treat. He is done this on several occasions and I always make sure to get him a treat after he does an intelligent trick. The other raccoon that I have currently is John C Reilly and he is not as compliant but he is a little younger and as cute as can be.
