4 months old Emily gets her ears pierced. She screamed but was happy again just a few minutes after it was all done.
And let me just clear some things up for everyone who thinks this is "abuse" or "wrong" or that it "should be the childs choice", this is my daughter, not yours. If I would have waited until she was even say 9 month old when she was able to shake her head yes or no, I bet if I asked her if she wanted her ears pierced, I'm about 100% sure she would of nodded her head yes. So to that, there is no right or wrong age to get your ears pierced. I make all decisions for my children until they are 18 years of age.
Thank you all for your concerns, but my children are loved, fed, clothed, cared for, they have everything they could ever want. They are in no way abused at all.
In America we do thing a little different love it or hate it, thats how it is here. So please if you don't have anything nice to say, then please don't watch the video.

She is grown, she is 10 now, and she is very happy to have them done. She has seen this video several times and glad I did them when she was a baby, because she don't remember it.

Culture is something made up by man - varies around the world - the Chinese used to break the little girls toes, and bind the toes back - which stunted their normal growth. - very painful ever after. Causing pain to anyone any age is cruel - call it culture if you like - still not nice!

Why not wait until the child is 10-12 yrs old....make it a special event, go out to lunch...ASK HER if she wants it!!!! I am glad my mother did not decide for body!!! MY wishes!!!! I got mine when I was 13 yrs and it is a beautiful memory of a special day. ....That I could not wait for with much excitement !!!! YOU cheated your daughter and yourself !!!!

@@tommosword8933 no, actualy it's act of kindness. In many cultures (latin America or Európe for example) is common for every girl to have pierced ears. And it is the best to do it when a girl is around 3-6 month old. The baby in video is ok after few seconds and she will not remember it. My mom did the same and I'm grateful to her.

Look up an article in wikipedia about earrings (and a paper it referrs to: "Contact hypersensitivity and allergic contact dermatitis among school children and teenagers with eczema"). All earrings contain a little bit of nickel (no matter what base metal they are made of), and kids get allergic, because of that nickel that is in earrings (a lot of the so called food allergies can be caused by those earrings done when they were babies due to nickel present in them). So although it seems that doing piercing for babies would save them from remembering the pain of doing that when they are older, that allergy problem makes it a non recommended procedure. To avoid that allergy problem someone would probably have to buy as chemically pure metal for earrings as possible, like gold, test it for nickel, if any is found give it for a chemist to purify it. Test it again, if it is nickel free, then make a custom made earrings from it. That's certainly a lot of effort and expenditures, but if you want to save your baby from earring caused allergies that is the only way (apart from not doing piercing to babies and kids at all).

This is done to stroke the mother's vanity. It has nothing to do with the child. The mother's vanity needs to "decorate" her child.

You didn’t hurt my feelings. It’s not too early at all. It’s actually better to do it as a baby so they don’t remember getting it done. My 9 year old says of I wouldn’t have got it done when she was. A baby then she would be too scared to do it at 9. But she would want it done at the same time. So she is glad to have them and not remember it.

@@CrystalVlogss Why do you have to get your kids ears pierced at all? Why not wait until they’re teenagers? You are forcing your wants onto someone who cannot make a choice for themselves. And…. Just because it’s common in whatever country you live, or a so called ‘tradition’, doesn’t make it ‘right’. What strikes me the most is the pain caused to babies. Whether they forget or not… pain is pain :-(

And while you're talking about your right to defend yourself from "haters", your baby also has the right to choose whether she wants her ears pierced or not. But no, you made that decision FOR her. And just because you gave birth to her doesnt mean you are her master!!! We dont OWN our children. We raise them to, hopefully, grow into decent human beings. Sweet baby. This lady doesn’t really know how to do them. My daughter had them done in 2000 and two women did one ear each at exact same time. Two different times is primitive.

@@CrystalVlogss Yup, it’s painful. I still remember having mine done and I was 6. I don’t have any daughters but if I am blessed with any in the future I hope to get them done around 4-6 months old. I don’t want them to wait like I had to and have to remember it all.

Omg ! All the ear piercers in the world are about to leave their jobs! We must hurry and get our sweet,innocent, giggling and happy baby to pierce her ears before it is too late. We know the baby would be in agony and pain, but tradition and beauty is more important than the happiness of the baby. This thing can wait till adolescent age

As long as they have had their first round of vaccines they are old enough to get ears pierced. Some cultures do it in the hospital, I have all my girls ears done at 4 month because they aren't able to mess with them, and cause infection, after 3 minutes at most they don't even know they are there anymore. Both my girls are now 11 and 7 years old, and they are so happy to have them done young, because they have told me they would want them done, but would be too nervous for the "pain" which now they do not even remember since they were young.

I had my ears pierced later in life and I am glad my mother did not have me do it when I was a baby. Then I can make the choice of my own when I wanted to have it done. It was actually painful.What bothers me is that the baby does not know what is coming(shock) and does not understand why their is pain(confusion). It's what you want not what the baby wants. Wait til she decides since it hurts.

For the life of me I dont get it, why do such small kids need earrings. No, seriously. Let them grow a little and make that decision by themselves. Less traumatic and, at least, there is a desire to get them pierced. It's THEIR decision, not parents'.
