I attempt to create a diaper cake for my son and daughter in law's baby shower. i have seen many tutorials and see different ways to make them so i thought i'd give it a try since i really wanted one of these cake decors for the party and it is a gift as well for the expecting parents. i really enjoyed doing this and i hope you enjoy it too.

I make diaper cakes at times and wreaths planters motorcycles trikes etc. etc. etc. But i would have made another row(4th) making the diapers come to and cover the edge of the board(plus gives recipient more diapers to use). Also instead of the paper towel in the middle i use either a hooded towel or blanket or i really like putting the plastic baby bottle banks that usually also has gifts inside it. (Can find them in pink blue orange yellow and green). Definitely use a rubberband. Lots quicker. Love putting all kinds of stuff all over it and wrap in cellophane with a huge bow at top and a small stuffed animal too with a balloon or 2 on top of that. Yours looks pretty.

I used to make Diaper Cakes also. My tip is to wrap the entire Diaper Cake with Tulle and secure it at the top with a Big Bow. Looks so surreal and beautiful as a Centerpiece on the Table at the Baby Shower.

What a lovely gift Tricia and you put so much love into these baby creations that it shines through. I'd love to have seen this some years ago when my grandchildren were on the way but maybe I could do them for my great grandchildren when they start coming along in years to come. The design you created is so beautiful, full but not fussy. I think it would make a fantastic nursery decoration, it would be something I personally would treasure. This was the best baby diaper cake I have ever seen. You did a fabulous job in the love and care you put into making your design. You took your time and went step by step with each section. I loved it and I will watch it again before doing one for my daughters baby’s shower. Thank you.

What a unique cake---I LOVE IT!!!! You did a beautiful job. These are such fun to do. No one likes to take them apart and use the diapers because they are one of a kind and are a decoration. My kids have kept all the ones they have been given---they can't tear them up--LOL I don't see your daughter in law doing it either. She is lucky to have you.

Your diaper cake is beautiful. Love the flowers, and the ribbon you used. They are going to just love it. I too made a diaper cake and diaper wreath for my grandson. I used cardboard for my base. Instead of flowers I just made a bow to set on top, and a old blue lace ribbon that was my mother's. Nothing to fancy. It was my first try. I love to watch your video's and learn to do my own. Thank's for shareing your creations. And congratulations.

I WOULD USE both RUBBER BANDS and RIBBON. STABILITY IS EVERYTHING!

I use size 2 diapers just because I find that most get so many smaller size diapers gifted to them so they have some for them to grow into❤️this is cute!

Love the Diaper Cake , but yes you should really do more florals MOTHER'S DAY , FATHER'S DAY , GRADUATION , and DIY Vase Ideals I love those one of my favorite things to make this year was the Candleholder/Vase 2 uses in one thing and its perfect for centerpieces , weddings anything you may need a candle or a vase for . I loved doing it and my cousin keeps trying to take my 6 piece set i created. Even though i showed her how to do it , she liked mine cause i have crystal hangers i made on my double purpose pieces that can be used on either the bowl or cylinder style. lol

I vaguely remember Tricia working at either Michaels or Craft Etc when we had them..Maybe she’ll see this and answer. Tricia, you should of just tied the ribbon on it with the rubber band attached and after it was tied take the rubber band off. It came out beautiful......your son and d-I-l are going to love it. Are they watching these videos??????? Mary

i just realized i did not answer your question at the end there. they do watch my videos but they have not watched lately especially my son. they both teach and are very busy with papers and such and my son is preparing for a major change in his title. my daughter in law has seen the first couple of videos.. she always has to find time and binge watches to catch up.. i did tell her not to let my son see the apron one..lol but i knew there would be chance of them seeing them. i am not concerned with it because we have tons of gifts ready as a surprise. it's funny because they both send me pics of things they are considering buying and want my opinion or blessing as my son puts it and much of what they show me is things i have bookmarked. i find we have the exact or near exact taste in style and colors. this could get long so i'll stop here..haha.

Tell them not to buy much till after shower, never know what they'll receive. Can buy what they didn't get later. You can go as long as you want. I like it. Mary

If you put the rubber band around diapers to secure it, then put the ribbon on and remove the band, so much easier and quicker

I usually wrap my diaper cakes and wreaths with cellophane and tie at the top and put a big bow and 1 or 2 stuffed animals tied to it and makes it easy to carry.

You did an amazing job on the diaper cake. I have made several my favorite was a 4 wheeler I made for my daughter’s Mossy Oak camouflage Baby Shower. Wish you had a Facebook group page so we can share pictures and chat. By the way my twin grand daughters are both home now after one of them being in the NICU 😁

Suggestion, when you said a turn table would be nice here. How about using the turn table in the microwave. Mine comes out. Just a thought. Thank you for sharing.
