Wanted to upload a video that showed my first wash with sisterlocks on 2.5 inches of hair! This is my first ever wash you guys! Hope you enjoy :)

I think you did a great job!👍🏾 I’m appreciative for the visual. I was thinking about doing the stocking cap too. My hair is short as well so seeing this video helps me to know how to shampoo my Sister locks when I get them established in September. Thank you 😊

Good job washing and banding! I'm currently growing out my hair to get sisterlocs. Glad to know they can be started on 2 inches of hair. Excited now! Just gotta find a sisterlock consultant in Louisville, KY!

It can be done on 1.5 inches of hair actually, which is really short, but possible! Check out the sistetlock website for approved trainees and consultants. Then go to IG and type in all the hashtags for sisterlocks and check out google! You may surprise yourself at what you find :) (ex. #sisterlockconsultantskentucy or #kentuckyhairstylist) Also check out the sisterlocks facebook groups, I am sure someone has already asked the same questions :) Hope this helps! My hair is 2inchs I drove 2 hours to get sisterlocks only for the consulate to tell me she couldn't do my hair because it was too short.

I'm a newbie too.... Have you tried using barrettes when washing.... It's something that I do.

Wheww its been a little minute since I posted a video! I have my 1 year update coming soon, no barrettes only rubber bands :)

Did you put the shampoo on your hair while you have the stocking cap on? I think I saw you rinse it with the cap on but didn’t see or hear you say anything about the shampoo part.

Yes I do both actually! I put the shampoo on my roots and then place the stocking cap on and rinse it out. Then I take a small amount of shampoo while the stocking cap is on and press the shampoo into the braids and rinse again with the stocking cap on 😊

@Endeamathis Sometimes I do and sometimes I do not! Now if it’s a new bottle of shampoo I do not add but if it’s the last little bit and I know with a tiny bit of water I can make it last through a wash lol 😂 I will most certainly add water!!! I want to have the full concentration on my scalp because it’s so easy for their to be buildup since my scalp is more exposed to the environment. This Florida weather is no joke! Especially in the summer months!
