Baby Swimming Underwater 21 Months

This baby swimming video looks at what Lulu is doing underwater at 21 months. You'll notice she has mastered great breath control so is spending a lot more time underwater. As a result we are using goggles to help protect her eyes and make the learning experience fun and enjoyable. We are visiting an aquatic center for a play swim not a formal swimming lesson. Remember these play opportunities help develop and progress baby's swimming skills. Regular exposre is the key for learning to swim. Taking baby swimming at your local public aquatic and leisure centre is a fun and exciting time. Very often public swimming pools have a variety of swimming areas with great shallow water play areas, water fountains, aquatic playgrounds and fountains that young children will enjoy. Children will delight in the bubbles and water splashes as long as they feel safe and secure. If your child shows any signs of discomfort make sure that you give them space and don't force them into the water. Sometimes the noise and atmosphere of a large public swimming pool can be overwhelming for children. Like anything knew it's a good idea to let them become acclimatized to to new environment. You may have to visit the aquatic center a few times before your child is totally relaxed and confident. Always teach baby in a happy and relaxed environment and respond to their cues. When going to the swimming pool with your baby always ensure that you dress them appropriately. If your child is not yet toilet trained they will need a swimming nappy. There are so many social, emotional and physical benefits from learning to swim. I know some families struggle to access swimming lessons. But children will learn a lot through regular play and exploration. But active adult supervision is essential.

Isn't this a lovely pool for exploration and play. Lulu is really gaining confidence with her goggles. We still do a portion of the lesson without goggles so that she maintains her confidence without them.

I absolutely marvel at this fabulous little girl and her brilliant teacher. I'm elderly and never learned to swim. I tried a few times but never got over the fear because I kept sinking. I missed out on a lot of fun outdoor activities because of it. My parents couldn't swim either so I guess that's were the original problem started.

Lulu has really picked up so well and at this tender age she knows to hold her breath and go underwater and that too so confidently! Amazing job by her trainer Aunt👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽❤❤

Yes 😊 This is such a lovely pool. People are lucky if they can access aquatic center's like this. Children learn a lot from play and exploration under adult supervision.
