In this week’s episode of Transition Talks, I spoke with Tom Luongo from Gold, Goats 'n Guns.
Tom Luongo is a Former Research Chemist, Amateur Dairy Goat Farmer, Anarcho-Libertarian and Obstreperous Austrian Economist. He told me that we there will be an Energy Crisis, and that we’re in an era of Cheap Uranium. Later, I also interviewed 1 Uranium Stock.
More specifically, we discussed the geopolitical impact on global energy markets, Europe's economic challenges, and the rising oil consumption.
We have also explored future oil price trends, uranium prices, and the potential of energy commodities.
Tom Luongo’s website: tomluongo.me/
After the market overview, I interviewed a uranium exploration company that goes by the name Nuclear Fuels. Michael Collins, CEO of Nuclear Fuels (CSE: NF) joined me for an in-depth conversation on how the company's exploration effrots are going.

He's partially right about Russia selling fossil fuels to other buyers and them reselling to us. That's mostly oil. They sell oil to India, Turkey and they process it and resell the processed oil, so there also Russia gains less than they did before. Gas is a completely different matter, since Russia absolutely has no infrastructure to transport it to other buyers. Some is substituted to LNG, but they didn't have the infrastructure (still don't) to export all of it. If you look at the volume, the amount that they export has decreased by 2/3rds. Of course this leads to increased energy prices, especially in Europe, but not really to increased revenue for Russia. Overall, it is just very hard to take someone serious who says Europe is going to fall to communism. That's either someone who doesn't understand Europe or willfully misrepresenting communism. His bias clearly affects his judgement too in other matters, like the Ukraine / Russia crisis, ecology, ... it's a pity, since he's an intelligent person who would be a lot more credible if he was more open to nuance and intellectual honesty. That said, i think it's healthy to give people with diverse viewpoints a voice.

Okay, Japanese don't complain but they have other strategies. For example, they once signed long term coal contracts with Canadian companies at favorable prices for them. When prices turned against them, they walked away from those contracts, leaving the Canadians holding the bag.

Why do so many people do that dumb shit where part of the talk is cut and pasted before the intro? It adds literally nothing and only serves to encourage people to fast forward which I can't imagine is great for engagement metrics?

I disagree, but only partly. My goal with it is to provide a quick overview of the main talking points in the video. It takes some time to figure out which snippets to put up front, but it's been helpful to many viewers over the years. However, you're right on most other channels. Most just copy what others are doing and put something random upfront without any real purpose.

@@ResourceTalks Yeh I get it, just not a fan of it personally. Rather just get on with the video because by the time I click on a vid I've already made up my mind I'm watching it - unless the guest turns out to be a moron or something of course. Russia provided cheap energy to Europe for geopoliticial aims, this is widely known. Their aim is exactly what he wants, acquiescence to Russia and Chinese geopolitical aims in exchange for peace. Really a Neville Chamberlain move.

It's a very complicated explanation compared to simply trading with your close neighbor. Germany ran a small trade deficit with Russia leading up to the present situation. Raw materials imported from Russia. Finished goods exported to Russia. Similar to the nature of the trade deficit that many countries have with China (but smaller).

@@ResourceTalks , seriously you are asking that question? It starts with the Putin is bad …but. Positive comments on Orban? Two authoritarians who have led their countries to low growth, low dynamic economies. Both repress any opposition. Any person who wants to be taken seriously on the you tube circuit needs to be honest enough to admit when the other side of their preferences have done things right and where their preferences have been totally fails. Tom does neither on any interviews. Sounds great, makes good points. But he fails when it comes to credibility.
