Thanks for pointing out the metaphorical nature of Londo's bug infestation. I can't believe I've never thought about that, I'm so stupid. Seen it so many times and just thought of it as a throwaway bit of comic relief, which seems odd in Londo's case at this stage. Now it makes far more sense.

I think Vir's lack of revulsion towards her is caused by two things, one he still is a product of a culture where marriages are arranged, and secondly it is a last lingering bit of his naievity, he wants to believe everyone will be a good person with the right information and influence. He thinks he can "fix" her.

Vir is the man. He is trapped by his society, as can be seen with his arranged marriage, but even then he is a man of hope, even for his people. He is the Schindler of the story.

The ending, with Vir still acting a bit giddy, is not liked by many. But we have to remember that Vir does not have a say in who he marries. He can't divorce her (if her family goes ahead with it), at least not without getting the emperor's approval (see Londo's divorces in prior season.) So all Vir can do is hope she changes.
