Great video man! The V4 completes this in 1m9s on an x14 core, good to know the performance of the V1200 is up there. It's such a wonderful render!

I think x14 is the main difference, as v1200 core is x12 for now. And maybe some chip ram bottleneck (as v4 chip ram is speedier than standard Amiga). I've a V4 too. But didn't tried the x14 core yet..

I used to wait hours on c4d to make a simple render on a stock 1200. :)

Hours?? With my a500 with just a 4meg ram upgrade and HD with stock CPU took DAYS to render a decent looking scene.

Great video. If Ron Thornton had had a vampire how much time he could have saved! What was the typical rendering time per frame for B5 back in the day do you know?

I'm glad you liked the video! It wasn't meant to be a race against your score. I just I liked your test and wanted to redo it on my a1200. If you write here your exact light config I'll redo the rendering and update the score here, but really this was just made for fun. enjoyed rendering this iconic 3d model..

Ciao Stefano, mi piacerebbe riutilizzare Lightwave sul mio Amiga 1200, ho un 1200 base + fpu apposta per far girare Lightwave, valuterei l’acquisto di una vampire 1200 ma vorrei sapere se si riesce a promuovere Lightwave su schermi RTG della vampire 1200 con programmi tipo modepro o similari.

Se usi l'ultima versione di Lightwave (la 5 mi pare) riesci ad avere sia il layout che il modeler su RTG. Il layout editor va promosso col ModePro. L'object editor non va promosso, ma puó cmq essere configurato x aprirsi su uno schermo rtg. Le versioni precedenti possono avere dei problemi col ModePro perché più legate agli standard televisivi Ntsc ed alla scheda Video Toaster
