The HUGE smile you had on your face throughout the whole thing .... that is how everybody should look when they watch and listen to BABYMETAL. I think somebody else once said that even when she isn't singing Su is always doing something interesting and performing. So this is a little bit different to the 'unfinished' version ... and they are both so good.

Su sings her heart out on this song. She was 16 here, what an amazing talent Standing alone revolving around with all the pyrotechnics feet away, what poise. Amazing

Luniversed, did you notice the passion Su gave to this song? There is an english cc version of this video out there, now that you seen this you should checked it out, to me makes Su's performance here standout more knowing basically what she is singing...

⚡ / 🔴 🌙 Guitarists that night were Leda Cygnus and Takayoshi Ohmura. As usual BOH was on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. Thank the Fox God that their producer Koba thought of pairing Su's voice with metal music. I've said it before, but Su doesn't need to fear any of the pyrotechnics because she is fire herself. That solo (and Rondo of Nightmare from the same concert) are what sold me on BABYMETAL. Before that I liked them, and thought the whole idea was a lot of fun, but seeing Su in full Metal Queen mode turned me into a diehard fan. An interesting thing about 'Akatsuki'. It's written by combining the characters for "Red" and "Moon". Which helps explain the red moon imagery BABYMETAL uses in many of their concerts. On the track listing the character "Kurenai" (often translated as a deep red or crimson) is used instead of "Red", probably as a tribute to the X-Japan song.

What bothers me a little bit is that great songs like Akatsuki or No Rain No Rainbow are very similar to X-Japan songs, I know Koba is fan of them, but in some moments it sounds almost like a copy :/ don't get me wrong, I love Babymetal, it's just kind of strange to hear those similarities.
@rickwagner-

@Oscar Vitela I think they are intended as tributes. BABYMETAL have never let their inspiration from X-Japan be a secret. And far from being upset, Yoshiki has expressed an interest in collaborating with BABYMETAL in the future.
@oscar8565
@oscar8565 4 жыл бұрын
@@rickwagner- yes, I know, a collaboration would be great. Listen to No Rain No Rainbow and then listen to Endless Rain by X-Japan, that's what I mean when I say in some moments it sounds like a copy. That's not happen with Tales of the Destinies, it's feels more like a tribute to Dream Theater... Or maybe that's just me haha

"Shining in the depths of your eyes the moon is about to cry. Red tears overflow and dye the night sky. In the silence the two damaged blades stand face to face. Our loneliness and our uneasiness slash even our hearts. Going over thousands of nights some love shall survive. So until my body perishes, until my life disappears, I shall keep on cherishing this love." Awesome reaction Jerome! Yeah, the Kami solos of Leda and Ohmura in this version are fantastic. The unfinished version makes me cry, but the instrumentals in this version pumps me up, until they die down and Su is singing on her own and then I want to cry again....

That big grin 😁 on your face pretty much says it. Great reaction. You pretty much captured Babymetal live at their best with that "conflict" of the kamiband stole the show and that Su-metal stole the show. Nice shout-out to lennyg47! 👍

My favorite BABYMETAL song and one of her best performances, she put so much passion here, especially toward the end her voice grows so powerful, so over her limit it's amazing! Indeed her style here perfectly fits the song's lyrics.

Thank you for this! No translation can replace a lifetime growing up in a culture. All these fine women know this, and put enormous effort into conveying meaning through movement. I'm mainly a 'listener', and you've just helped me learn to watch to understand. Probably the climax of Akatsuki is the moment fifteen seconds after 5:12 when she holds out her right pinky finger. This signifies "kizuna" in which soul mates are forever bonded by an invisible (red) thread tied to their pinky fingers. Notice also while performing so powerfully, she was having enormous trouble with her left earpiece - you rarely see her mic in her right hand! And just before delivering this critical moment, her mic is in her right hand while she is messing with her left earpiece, then she switches the mic back to free her right hand, delivering the moment beautifully as she extends her right pinky finger with perfect grace and expression.

My favorite song of babymetal of all time. This song never gets old man, and there's a lot of emotions in it too. Also to add to the musical element, the riffs in this song are spectacular. It captured the solemness of Suzuka's voice and the aggressive vibe of the instruments perfectly. The lyrics also is very deep and that's why this is my favorite song of babymetal. Can i also say its hella underrated too?

Babymetal is a once in a lifetime phenomenon. The only thing that came close to it was when I was about 16, laying a whole summer in the swimming pool listening to The Stones, The Beatles and so many great bands that followed them on my little transistor radio. They were pumping out hit song after hit song like the creativity knew no bounds, in a wonderful competition. It was a magical time, and i thought that revolution in music would never happen again. Well, It didn't. But this band gave me back the same joy and originality I felt back then, the same feeling that anything is possible. Together with Bandmaid they are a true gift to the world: no star allures, no display of egotism, and no cheap oversexed crap. Just professionalism and FUN.The world looks bright again, lol.

This song is another tribute to X-Japan song "Kurenai",..in Kanji Akatsuki(“紅月”) means Red Moon n has a reading Kurenai(“紅”) & Kurenai also means Crimson Moon,.. the intro, chorus, duel guitar solo, bass beat & drum tempo very similiar to X-Japan song "Kurenai" & "Silent Jealousy",... X-Japan is a living legend who's have influencing many band/musicians & even in Japanese music Industry everything is divided by the words "Before X" & "After X",.. if you have a time & want to react to their song, i suggest,.: ) X - Kurenai kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z8imhaiVnsC1hoU.html ) X - Silent Jealousy kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nZ2plsWlupnWmmg.html both song is from the show "X on the Verge of Destruction Live in Tokyo Dome 1992"

Also, while the kanji used are red (aka) and moon (tsuki), there's the kanji 暁, read as akatsuki, meaning dawn. It's cleverly titled, being an X-Japan reference, and giving them a lot of room for interesting imagery within even just the wordplay of the title. :)
