Great reaction, thanks! I'm glad you noticed but you didn't know what was happening. Don't worry, the people there at the venue also had no clue and the general confusion was priceless. 🤣 It still sounds cute because Su-metal tends to imitate her younger self in these kind of early fun songs (even Moa commented that she's very good at that). Also, the other singer is Miko Todaka who was 16 years old at the time. They don't usually play it live except for some "special" shows like this. I got it at Legend-MM (twice) and it was an extremely fun experience. 😁 🤘🦊

Great reaction ... you could tell something was off, was it a mirror, was it the big screen? As you've been told below, everybody who was there were asking the same things and adding was it a hologram, did BABYMETAL teleport across the arena onto a second stage? I suspect this particular performance was requested especially for the confusion it causes. You did better than most by noticing something didn't seem quite right. I think I've only seen one reactor actually work out what was happening, the vast majority don't notice anything at all. You've had all the explanations already, you don't need me repeating it all.🦊

I was at Makuhari for this performance and we had no idea what was going on when the three new girls appeared. I initially thought it was some sort of hologram effect, but then I saw that they were wearing different outfits with red skirts reminiscent of the classic red tutus, so I worked out that they were real and it was obvious when I heard Miko sing. There were two stage platforms and they moved the second one into position with the three other girls on it while it was dark and everyone's attention was on Babymetal. After the show, fans worked out that that the three new girls were Miko Todaka, Sakia Kimura, and Kokona Kato, who are all Amuse talents. Miko and Sakia are Sakura Gakuin alumni and Kokona is from Amuse Camp. They reappeared again at PIA Arena to perform Karate with Babymetal, but they still weren't announced as anything. It wasn't until a few months later that they were finally announced as a new Amuse group created by Kobametal called "Metalverse" as a sort of little sister group to Babymetal. Since then, they have done a couple of solo live shows in Tokyo and released two singles, "Crazy J" and "Naked Princess", which you can find on their youtube channel, and they performed as the opening act at FOX_FEST, so I got to see them live there for the first time. They don't play Doki Doki live very often anymore unfortunately; it hasn't been a regular part of their setlist since 2017. They played it twice at Makuhari in 2023, and then they played it twice at Legend MM this year, so it's a song that they only pull out for special occasions these days.

🍑 ⚡ 💕 / 💓 ⏰ Miko Todaka (Su’s Clone) and Sakia Kimura (Momoko’s Clone) are Sakura Gakuin graduates. Kokona Kato (Moa’s clone) was with Ciao Girls, another Amuse, Inc. project. She won the Grand Prix at the Ciao Girl 2020☆Audition, out of 5,000 applicants. If Sakura Gakuin had continued, she was considered to be a likely candidate.

First of all, this is the new Metalverse project with a new set of three girls here but they already debut on their own along with two more dancers at Summer Sonic Festival last year and later at Spotify O-East (so 5 in total) with their own show, right now they're back to the trio formation. You can also see three of them performing live at Budokan 2021 when they were even younger and wearing masks performing along with MoaMetal two Black Babymetal songs, there were four baby-foxes in total back then. By that time, they're: Miko Todaka (16), SuMetal's mirror, former SG alumni, she's from Hiroshima just like Suzuka and also she was at Actor School Hiroshima, she's super talented. Sakia Kimura (14), MoaMetal's mirror, former SG alumni. Kokona Kato (14), she's part of Amuse Kids division and Ciao Girl's just like MoaMetal was before entered SG, she was pointed out to enter SG but sadly she couldn't because it was disbanded in 2021, she's very charismatic and she got 13 when doing this performance, her birthday is around the same date MoaMetal bday which btw next week is MoaMetal's birthday so don't forget about it. Fans were really surprised with this when performing live, there was a lore intro but no one was ready just like you, no sure what are you trying to say with the mirror but in a sense this was a mirror subgroup if that is what you're trying to say in case you noticed about the three different girls on stage. They did several live shows and got some new songs, they also got official MV of two songs if you wanna check that out. Last time performing was at FOX_FEST Festival and they got Asterism playing as a special guests backing band. A lot of fans (probably some more coming from SG, fukeis) were excited with this new project so these girls got already a fanbase willing to support, we'll see if more BM fans support this. I personally like some songs with the heavy touch, others are just different and cool but in the surface you can clearly see some SG vibes with the BM battle dress, oh talking about it, they got a new green/turquoise color unlike this performance. Thanks again from Japan 有難う。I witnessed this very performance at the venue last year and dropped my jaw like YOU DID today. After a somber narration with Marvel style, the bubbly and playful intro of Doki Doki Morning that has stark contrast with the prior sinister message started. Then ... I could not understand what was going on when another set of seemingly pseudo-BABYMETAL appeared in duel position against authentic BABYMETAL . I did not know who they were but came to know that they were amazing performers immediately after they started to sing and dance. What a surprising story Team BABYMETAL had produced to entertain the audience !! (After the show, fans promptly figured out who the mysterious girls were ) This song is about a school girl who overslept in the morning and got up quickly and dressed in haste asking repeatedly "what time is it now?. "Doki Doki" signifies sound of fast heartbeat. Su, Moa and Momoko are matured and no longer school girls, but they revived this song in 2021 shows at Budokan mimicking their own childhood voices and lovable moves. I loved it. But this 2023 version with 6 girls made my heartbeat 300 bpm Doki Doki And the another set of girls called Metalverse is now having their own concerts since this.

Reactions to this video are fun because you knew something wasn't quite right but it looked like you couldn't quite put your finger on what it was. There was no mirror. There were 2 Babymetals. Nice reaction as always. This is one of those videos where it's fun to see the confusion on the reactor's face. Not a screen, not a mirror... it was MetalVerse guesting. Just before they appear the spotlight goes off on BabyMetal and switches to the 2nd stage with MetalVerse. I sometimes wonder how Su and Moa feel about performing this without Yui, no disrespect to Momo, but as their first song from when they were so young it must bring back memories. Nice to see them still performing older fan favourites which not all groups do.

you did pass the test though ;) some reactors don't even register there are 6 girls there instead of 3, and that tells me they're not really paying attention to the video. But then we already know you already actually love Babymetal so I think this was just to surprise you ;) Usually those are the type of reactors that say 'ehh lesss go!' every 30 seconds whether anything is happening or not, have thumbnails with them clutching their heads and mouth wide open, and use 'bro' and 'guys' as punctuation. Babymetal do this again in another song at another concert later.
