There tends to be instrumental interludes, and some songs performed by Su by herself, or by Moa & Yui. There has been a shift to promoting Moa to also do Solo duties as well in the post Yui era.

I've seen Live performances via KZfaq & everything I see, they always are moving, dancing, high energy, etc. These girls definitely work hard & have high endurance.

@@chi_naza no they mentioned in a interview with a tv reporter after a performance but that reporter said the song was about eating disorders and him just assuming but the girls said it was just about wanting to be given chocolate and chocolate in general basically but take it with a grain of salt that it may not be about women thinking they need to go on a diet

@@aubrey615 Anyone who thinks that there is any depth to this band is sadly mistaken. This is pure corporate profiteering in a genre known to be heavily against such. From themes to composition there is verry little about this that is actual metal...except maybe drop d and machine gun drums.

Well, if I can guess, 2 things come to mind: maybe the only thing you are confused about is why you like it. And the second is that they clearly take being fun incredibly seriously: while their is a lot of talent and hard work and training that went into the catchy & melodic hard hitting music and performance what they've really done is create an amazing live performance/experience. Their live energy is second to almost nobody else. And it's authentic and infectious. I'm just guessing but I've also been a fan since 2016. So it's an educated guess because I've been confused for months before calling myself a fan. 😃 Now before you type a reply maybe look up: Babymetal Metrock 2015 (a Google search will probably point to Dailymotion: Tokyo Metropolitan Rock Festival 2015).

dont be confused,you have discovered the holy grail of ultimate rock. when koba metal put this lot together he was giving a masterclass in the japanese art of doing everything better then everything before it. he took 3 small girls, and teamed them up with some thrash speed metalers, knowing full well that their tiny voices would boo out from in font of that band, he dressed them up cute i what has been called japanese battledress, and turned them loose on the world, safe in the knowledge that we would love them. and we do. im' old too, and a metal head, started way back with sabbath and purple, right up to present day with metallica etc and i still gravitate to babymetal for my music and dance on a daily basis. checkout RIHO SAYASHI too. she is one of the babymetal avengers, and she is trruly beautiful to look at and a lovely singer. its just a shame babymetal management didnt giver a microphone.

If you look at a video like Road of Resistance live in Japan, they look like little rock stars. Full of confidence and many years of training and experience. But in reality it was the third time this song was performed for an audience. It's not just the music which combines genres and cultures. But their performance as well. Their is a combination of the culture of western & Japanese metal, but also J-Pop idol culture,which in part is based on old Japanese traditions. Using ideas where it overlaps or taking the best parts of all. Babymetal by design (for lack of a better word) exists to let the audience to participate. I think this leads to this unique connection. We are all Babymetal or The One. Those on stage and those in the audience.

It's clear he wanted to work with Suzuka after Karen Girl's. This idea of Suzuka at the front with metal music was a crazy idea, but he saw her talent and thought it might work. But Kobametal still had doubts it would work too: "former president of amuse but still has close ties with the company. he talks about how he gave Koba advice to just go out and do what [you] want to do or you might regret it later. If you can be successful with it you will have created something unique to yourself and can build on that to make something even more special in the future." Here is from an interview in 2014: What was the inspiration for creating something so different? “[I was hoping] to incite that strange feeling that makes you go ‘what is this?’” KOBAMETAL explains, going on to give a concrete example; “Like the movie Kill Bill. It seems simple now because they're comfortable, have mastered the choreography because they had their time with it. And since newer/more complex choreographies have been introduced since then so there's more to compare and really see how far they've come with it.
