Babymetal is obviously first and foremost about the girls... But it's wonderful that fans have taken the whole band into their hearts, they really love everyone in stage. Losing Mikio is a really sad thing.

Awesome man, RIP Mikio indeed. What's awesome about this band is that every song is completely different, and tackles all different sub genres of metal. Some are poppy, with a Metalcore/Djenty backing, others are Power Metal shred-fests, even some Death & Thrash metal on certain tracks, among other styles. Probably their most mind boggling song is called 'Tales of The Destinies', a Prog metal song that Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater, praised the hell out of on Twitter. As far as live shows? There's hardly anyone that can come close to matching their energy. I've seen close to 300 shows in my life so far, and Babymetal are EASILY top 5 for me, in terms of adrenaline, endless energy and tightness. It can't be explained, you just gotta experience it and explore them more. Highly suggest you check out the song 'Rondo of Nightmare', which is a darker themed song, and has amazing solos from all the band members, as an intro to the track. Perfect for a metalhead to check out, if they're trying to understand BM and get into them more. Here's a link to that song: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h96JdMZ63tGWc6M.html

Oh I know them a fair amount. I have both albums. Caught them live once at Heavy MTL at their early set. Checked out a bunch of interviews and a handful of live videos. They definitely have that live energy you mentioned. I added both songs as even though I have both albums, some songs are still foreign to me.

Terrific choice of venues, Dude! Really amazing. Highlights Mikio sensei's fret and neck work and tapping. I've also always adored that choreo where Yui and Moa are throwing Kitsunes and they're cranking their ponytails for MORE POWER!

RIP Mikio. There are a lot of people that ignore the Kami band and only look at the girls, for me BABYMETAL are 7 people on stage , the girls and the band. Hope that you react to more BABYMETAL in the future. Although you know their songs possibly you may not have seen some of these videos. I recommend Syncopation, Tales of the Destinies/The One, Rondo Of Nightmare this one has a great intro solo by the Kami Band and Mikio does IMO one of his best solos Ijime, Dame, Zettai kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Y-CCZcJ0qJ-8mKM.html iine dai.ly/k64nLE8yQ9cNaWmxnvD Road of Resistance - Live in Japan kzfaq.info/get/bejne/sLp1jLh3zLLalY0.html Akatsuki dai.ly/x54140r Megitsune dai.ly/k5MsJyFFe4MWxXmwZeH Tales of the Destinies/The One dai.ly/k3RPg6BgGgUgl6mioIq Death dai.ly/k1AWGhhiJplRYRmGNQD Awadama Fever dai.ly/x5fcvx9 Sis Anger dai.ly/k3yy5OWSJAUjnbmM4FM Uki Uki Midnight dai.ly/k1Q05WLiYhmOZfncjdm Rondo Of Nightmare dai.ly/khWXJ76ie0eZBopcbya Meta Taro dai.ly/k2Bdzi7sjPFJW1pQpIl Amore dai.ly/x53xdei No Rain, no Rainbow dai.ly/k3kCAiWnn9wC9jmvDcr Yava vid.me/c5H9v Syncopation dai.ly/k71T3to47PwQrEmLYX4 Catch Me If You Can dai.ly/x5eka2k GJ dai.ly/x542mmn Onedari Daisakusen dai.ly/k4rtcJCBIUHVxUmM53V

I also consider the Kami Band to be an integral part of BabyMetal, and it seems that more and more people are seeing it that way as well. The girls and the band, they all seem to be quite humble about it. No spotlight envy going on there. They're all supporting each others' success. :)

They will continue and I am sure they will find a great talented guitarist to replace him and continue the musical journey! :)
@0okamino6 жыл бұрын
Mikio initially filled Leda's spot (as Leda couldn't keep playing with BabyMetal on a consistent basis), so I don't doubt that they will find another guitarist. Of course, nobody will be quite like Mikio. He's a tough act to follow, but let's welcome whoever it is with open arms, remembering that Mikio had also come in as "the new guy in the band." :)
@Zionsol7776 жыл бұрын
0okamino I wouldn't mind seeing them replace him with a really strong influential Rhythm guitarist to introduce even a harder core sound Two The Band lead guitarist of the have is incredible so in a way it is a little redundant to have two of them Plus Mikio will be really hard to find an identical replacement for

So sad and such a shock to lose Mikio out of nowhere. Will be hard to ever get over it completely. He was definitely the best guitarist in the Kami Band. And honestly, though he's best known around the world for playing in BM, it kinda undermines what a great guitarist he was. He had a real feel for playing, and though he could play super fast stuff like thrash metal etc. he also played in a jazz prog band which goes to show his talents. Honestly might've been one of the best guitarists ever, and of course also a great person as every fan and musician who ever met him has been saying about him in the last few days. He should've been a far bigger deal around the world than he got to be. I'm sure the other Kamis will carry on his legacy with honour though. He was clearly super close to them all and I hear Takayoshi Ohmura even inherited Mikio's guitar. So how familiar are you with Babymetal exactly? Are you gonna react to more of them at some point? That'd be cool. I was gonna suggest them to you at some point in the future. You'll probably need to mute many of their videos though cause they're super strict about copyright.
@x666xIronMaiden6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your insight man! Loved reading it! Are they strict on their live videos as well? I know some bands on care about album versions.
@x666xIronMaiden6 жыл бұрын
As for how well I know them. I have both albums. Caught them live once at Heavy MTL at their early set. Checked out a bunch of interviews and a handful of live videos. That is about it.
@KalloSkull6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, they're super strict about basically 90% of the live videos and official music videos. Likely just the simple album versions too. Probably best to just mute everything from them, ESPECIALLY everything that comes from their official KZfaq channel. You might be fine with live show videos that were shot, uploaded and are thus owned by the festivals themselves, but even then don't take my word for it. Best off just doing what I've seen pretty much every other reactor do with BM, and leave a link to the video in the description and do a count down so the viewers can sync the sound up. :)

They are truly an ensemble group.. amazing together.. all of them! The girls are brave and strong..
@StarryStarryNocturne6 жыл бұрын
I think both Kamiband and the three girls Su, Moa and Yui make BABYMETAL what it is, they make each other. Without the girls, there's just exceptionally played Metal we've heard many times before - not to mention, none of the BABYMETAL songs we all love exist as they were all written for BABYMETAL by the mastermind of the concept Kobametal and his group of talented studio team of musicians, and of course, Song 4/Yon no Uta was actually written by two of the girls. And though Kamiband as Kariband is quite an animated, expressive group of musicians, the energy goes up at least 5 times with the girls out there. :) I've seen BABYMETAL (I include Kamiband in the name) has driven crowds into wild frenzies Kariband wishes they could. :P What Kamiband gives in return to the girls I think needs no elaboration. :)
@DonDaniellllll5 жыл бұрын
I really do not look to the view of ''babymetal and kamiband'' anymore. They are in my eyes now only one band, one group. Really, kamiband is not a support band anymore, THEY ARE BABYMETAL!! that's so cool.

Anyone with a musical ear will know that the Kami band is on a stellar level. They are on the high level of Old Man's Child and Dissection when it comes to raw talent. The loss of Mikio Fujioka is heartbreaking and I personally will miss his unique style forever. We love you my little dude ❤️.

thanx for doing BM, Download festival Karate was my suggestion, ... long ago, haha ;-) I'd made many suggestions (metal and other) and thought you might have cancelled all of them or forgotten... this is the first of mine except for one by Kawagutchi.... Didn't know about he guitar player, this is tragic. 36 is no age at all. Sad ... I agree the band is awesome, they can keep up technically with any prog band or whoever. I also like the drummer (was a drummer myself), he's the hell of a beast, really.

First of all, RIP Fujioka-san. It's really sad to hear of his passing... His family must be very distraught. The band too. He was a very good guitarist, though. I really likes that song! Didn't know it, but it's very badass! I really like the goooood heavy sound of the band and the addition of the clear and soft voices of the girls. It's an interesting mix. I find that Japanese bands are very creative in the way they make their songs. They seem to experiment more with their sounds than westerners, for whatever reason. Staying with Japanese bands, could you react to this song by Onmyouza: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jdmjiKuqsrmnZKs.html&ab_channel=TabernadosCorvos They've been together since 1999, apparently, and they integrate traditional Japanese instruments and sound in their music. I have a suggestion of another band: Myrath. They're a metal band from Tunisia, so they integrate oriental sounds in their songs. I really like Tales of the Sand, but any song is good for me. Thank you!
@x666xIronMaiden6 жыл бұрын
I think your right on how open they are to experimentation. It's definitely a whole different scene compared to North America. Added both your requests and went with Tales for Myrath. :)

Hi, would you do a reaction video to the german metal band Rage? It's such a underrated band and they have produced such good music through out some 30 years. They are my favourite band and I would suggest any sonf from their 1993 album "The Missing Link" like "Firestorm", maybe. Or some other album they released in the 90's (my prefered period). There's so much good material to choose from their entire discography as they have released 20 something albums. Thank you and I love your reactions, so genuine!
