_Hedoban hedoban!_ _Ban ban ban ban_ 🦊🤘🛐 Much appreciated for following your BM journey with this suggestion, i always recommend the Gans Tomas or "abr metal" version instead of this one with some audio issues in certain parts and the long unnecessary outro but still is better than any live compilation around. This song was part of the Babyklok Tour in the US and later at the Europe & UK Tour already finished, everyone love this song and were having a blast with the girls headbanging real hard in the middle section instead of the usual bowing down on their knees or having fun with the cryo smoke gun. Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! is one of BM fans favorite and got special meaning too. Song is about a 15 years old girl celebrating her birthday going to her first live concert, probably metal, while having melancholy for leaving her childhood behind. Isn't about any of our girls but they embraced this song like it was made for them, you'll find many special versions of this, even when they celebrate their 20th Birthday. 15 is an important coming of age for Japanese girls, 20 is another important date. This was at Legend 1997 (that's the title of this live concert referring to SuMetal birthyear) in 2013 celebrating SuMetal 16th Birthday, and the whole concert was special, if you want to know the rest of the songs finishing this, those are: - "Akatsuki" Unfinished Version, a beautiful SuMetal solo version with only a piano behind, the original song is a power/speed metal balad - "Babymetal Death", be ready for this insane ending, Legend 1997 was an special live concert, and along with Legend 1999 celebrating Yui and MoaMetal birthday are tied together to represent the commitment of these girls with this group, a new rebirth, so it's been 10 years ago and last week was the 10th anniversary of that concert along with SuMetal's birthday, not 6 years like you saw. The live concert and also this song got plenty of tributes to the greatest metal bands, like Metallica and X-Japan, specially Yoshiki, the gong at the end is one of those, you'll find more and plenty of this to add to their lore. The statue behind is SuMetal resemblance and is a tribute to Metallica's Lady Justice. The official MV is also creepy for some fans, I guess the organ gave that effect, you'll also see the neckbrace there for the first time which is a tribute to Yoshiki from X-Japan. Another thing that you don't see so much here in their live performance is, when YuiMetal and MoaMetal are having fun with cryo or smoke gun, the choreography on this part is with them down on their knees and doing the "dogeza hedoban" which is like bowing down back and forth summoning the metal spirit represented by the neckbrace while SuMetal is standing with the mic rise up and her relentless death stare, that's another moment we called -NotACult- The Kami Band here are insane set of elite musicians who were send to help with the metal sound, "kami" means roughly "god", they're wearing burial white robes and corpse face paint to represent those spiritual entities. They rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarrists). They are: - Míkio Fujioka, god of guitar, a beloved member, sadly he passed away in 2018. (R.I.P.), he's the one doing that sick solo. - Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording some albums tracks. - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but her fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP. You can see at the end (when SuMetal is crawling upstairs) his head got written "Happy Birthday". - Hideki Aoyama,, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is very famous in Japan music scene. During recent World Tour they got another complete different set of musicians, we called them Western Kami Band, they've been playing with them since 2019, so the Kami Band musicians aren't official members and the girls are the only front women of this group. Next suggestion: - Road Of Resistance live in Japan official MV. Have a nice weekend and hope to see you next year with more BM songs. Kitsune up!🦊🤘🔥

Great reaction, thanks! "Headbanger" or more properly "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" or "ヘドバンギャー! !" (Hedobangyā!!) is one of their earlier hits and it's about a girl who attends to her first metal concert on the night of her 15th birthday and that causes a great impact on her. That is the age of the end of the compulsory school in Japan so young people have to make some relevant decisions at that point. So this is actually about coming on age and leaving the childhood behind with a hint of nostalgia. This performance is impressive and not only because of the girls and the Kami Band skills and precision (it's actually their thing) but also because of the crowd interaction. They are black belt in crowd control and that makes their live performances really amazing. This particular crowd was exceptional and believe me, they got that night all what they deserved. 😁 I second the suggestions for "Road of Resistance" (Live in Japan), and then you can go back to this concert and see how they ended Su-metal's 16th birthday party (you can take it): "BABYMETAL Death" (Legend 1997 with CC, without spoilers): kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jKtjZ9CD1c-agZ8.html 🤣 Until next time! 🤘🦊

You can find the whole concert as a playlist here: kzfaq.info/sun/PLdBAj9hZ91wCao72oSqTMLrGpIDOqzR2Q This concert is somewhat unique, it pays homage to multiple bands (metallica, queen, x-japan to name a few) and is structured as a rock opera; telling the story of Su-Metal (lead singer) sacrificing herself as a JPop singer to become a metal goddess. The first song in the set opens with an extended operatic intro, then symbolically telling the story to come as Su-Metal accepts a neckbrace (x-japan homage) before starting the show with a house/pop version of Headbanger (the one you saw was the 12th song in the set, a metal version). The concert transitions from pop to metal song by song, until the one you saw, then there is a lament version of Akatsuki at 13th song (another song you saw the more metal version of), then Death 14th. They normally lead with Death, as what they are really saying is "desu" which means roughly "my name is, or I am" so its really just introducing themselves, but they pronounce it purposely slightly off so it also sounds like death. On special occasions, usually one of the singer's birthdays, they break out a more special version of the song.

Excellent choice sir! Headbanger is a quintessential "classic" Babymetal song. Dec 2013, Su's 16th Birthday, she's the "Legend", born in 1997. For the Kami Band: 1). Started playing live for Babymetal for portions of concerts in 2012. 2). The first 9 songs of this concert played to tracked music with a fake band in skeleton costumes. Babymetal couldn't afford a full band before, as they just got big in Japan. Kami Band came on for the 5-song encore at this concert. 3). Starting in 2014, Kami Band plays for all Babymetal shows, fully replacing the fake band. 4). Core members: BOH (Bass), Leda Cygnus, Takayoshi Ohmura, and Mikio Fujioka (guitars, switching out from time to time), and Hideki Ayoma on drums. There are a few other members that rotated in and out at times. 5). Since 2019, they incorporated Kami West, to assist with the US leg of touring. Later, they became Babymetal's main backing band. These were the guys you saw in the previous 3 reactions. 6). Kami West members: Anthony Barone (drums, previously Shadow of Intent), Clint Tustin (Bass), Chris Kelly (Guitar), CJ Masciantonio (Guitar). The latter 3 were all members of the band Galactic Empire. Other suggestions: *For the Heavy:* Rond of Nightmare (Budokan, 2014). BABYMETAL DEATH (Legend 1997). *For the "WTF":* Catch Me If You Can (Budokan, 2014). iine! (Official MV). Tales of the Destinies (Tokyo Dome, 2016). **This one probably will get blocked, so slap on some filters/logs, etc. *For the Epic:* Road of Resistance (Official, live, 2015). Ijime, Dame, Zettai (Download UK, 2016). Monochrome (Pia Arena MM, 2023). The ONE (Legend S, 2017). **This one probably will get blocked, so slap on some filters/logs, etc. The ONE (Official, Live, 2015). Equally epic as the above, but should be KZfaq-safe. *For Su's beautiful vocals:* Akatsuki (Budokan, 2014). Monochrome (First Take channel - piano version). Amore (Wembley, 2016). **This one probably will get blocked, so slap on some filters/logs, etc. 🤘🦊

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🤘 Even though Su has a beautiful soprano voice, I love that she sings a lot of this one in a lower register. That always sounds great. 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!' was one of their early hits. Even though the song is about a fifteen year old girl attending her first heavy concert, Su was only fourteen when the single and video were released. At that age she was on stage, rather than taking the train to see concerts like the girl in the song. : ) There's a fair amount of wordplay in the song, like "ichigo" meaning "fifteen" (1+5), "strawberry", and "once in a lifetime", but overall it's about the ephemeral nature of youth. "It'll never come back again and it's so short (a) period. I etch in my heart this special night of my fifteen."

Great reaction. Your questions have been answered already, I think I can add some more info. 'Headbanger' is about a girl going to her first concert on her 15th birthday, but 15 is significant in Japan as compulsory education also ends, so the girls is realising life will never be the same. She is etching this special night into her heart so she will never forget. There are other versions of 'Headbanger' from special occasions as well. The Legend 1997 concert actually started with a dance remix version ('Headbanger - Night of 15 Re-Mix') after a theatrical bit to the tune of Schubert's 'Ave Maria' where the statue (they only used that for this one concert) played a part ... and the finale has been mentioned ('BABYMETAL Death' live at Legend 1997) where it again played part of the concert's theme of death and rebirth and the transition of Suzuka Nakamoto from JPop Idol to becoming the Metal Goddess Su-metal. At concerts on or near their own 15th birthdays in 2014 Yui (in Paris) and Moa (in Cologne) took over lead vocals for 'Headbanger' half way through when Su handed them the mic and stand - she took their place in the choreo. Only fancam videos exist for those performances. In 2019 at the Legend M concert celebrating Moametal's 20th birthday (20 is the official age of majority in Japan) Moa once again took over lead vocals after Su handed her the mic and stand - and the lyrics were changed to "...this special night of my 20th...". Well worth another reaction if you can find it - generally referred to as 'Moabanger'.

I like Momo and I like everything she has brought to BABYMETAL. If a performance features Momo, I will request it over another. These versions of the songs are also the quintessential version of the songs from both both a performance, and audio quality. You got all the facts right and that it was to celebrate Su's 16th birthday (the bass player has "Happy Birthday written on his head")= and Yui and Moa had previously had a Legend 1999 concert for their 14th birthdays. It also marks finally the transition of Babymetal from a sub-group of Sakura Gakuin performing to pre-recorded backing tracks to a separate metal act incorporating the Kami Band and able to fill large arenas. They actually started the show with an ironically mimed dubstep/Broadway version of Headbanger called "Night of 15 Mix". Check it out to see BM not taking themselves too seriously, which is pretty rare. From this show they would go on to tour Europe in 2014 and have international success at 2014 UK Sonisphere. Headbanger is a bittersweet coming of age tale of a 15 year old girl taking the subway to a concert and getting lost in the experience and the mosh pit. She realizes that such moments of freedom will be fewer as she becomes an adult and she vows to remember the night. The other two girls, Moa and Yui, have taken the lead on the song to celebrate their own birthdays. My recommendations for the next reaction is "Tales of the Destinies at the Tokyo Dome".

@@ADistortedPerception The Kami Band is a small rotating roster of musicians. In the early days they were all Japanese and were brought in so that BM could become a truly live act. They first appeared in late 2012, even before BM had officially been spun off from Sakura Gakuin. They were gradually worked more and more into BM performances and were fully incorporated in early 2014 for the Budokan concerts and the European tour. BM now has a "Western Kami" band for concerts outside of Japan as well as the "original" Japanese Kami Band. The band members now wear masks rather than corpse paint which is a source of debate and frustration for many fans as it makes the Kamis rather anonymous, which was probably intended by BM's management.

Good reaction. Welcome again to the crazy universe of BabyMetal. BabyMetal is an atypical heavy metal group, because they are idols. In Japan, idols are often paired with pop music (Jpop), and Babymetal was actually a subgroup of a larger idol group called Sakura Gakuin. Sakura was made up of girls between 10 and 15 years old dedicated to Jpop. When SuMetal (the singer) started she was 12 years old and MoaMetal/YuiMetal (the backup singers) were only 10 years old. Sakura represented the Japanese high school and the girls were distributed in clubs (traditional Japanese extracurricular activities such as cooking, swimming, basketball, sewing, etc.). One of the producers, a lover of heavy metal, saw that Su's singing could perfectly be used in metal and asked permission from the Mother House (Amuse) to create the heavy music club, proposing an experiment in fusion between metal and the pop. Nobody, as they themselves have confessed, had much hope for its outcome, but they gave it the green light and thus BabyMetal, Sakura Gakuin's heavy music club, was born. The first songs were intended for girls between 10 and 15 years old, who were Sakura's target audience. However, their quality and the fusion between pop and metal attracted attention beyond this audience and they began to frequent their metal concerts... a shocking audience of children and metalheads. And it worked, it worked so well that they began to support groups like Metallica, Red Hot, BMTH or Lady Gaga, I seem to remember, on their tours in Japan. And the Red Hot singer commented that he was impressed to realize that part of the public came to see them, not them. And so the base of BabyMetal fans grew. Sakura was a group in which, upon turning 15, the members had to leave (to pursue their careers elsewhere) and the producer (KobaMetal) requested permission again to create BabyMetal as an independent group. Success was already beginning to become a reality in Asia, so they authorized it, although Moa and Yui (they were still 13 years old) would also continue to be part of other Sakura clubs (I don't know when the poor girls studied, but they did). In 2014 a milestone would arrive in the group's history. They were already an established metal group in Asia that sold out concerts, but they had not yet made the leap to the West. In that year his song "Gimme Chocolate" rose to fame on KZfaq (currently 182M views) and attracted the attention of the producers of the Sonisphere festival. KobaMetal had doubts about taking the step, since their musical proposal (Kawaii Metal or Cute Metal, a genre of which they are considered creators) might not be accepted in the West and the metalheads who went to the Sonisphere had a reputation for saying goodbye to very bad manners to the artists they didn't like (even with bottles full of urine), but they were offered to go to one of the secondary stages (about 5000 spectators) and they ended up accepting. But the success of BabyMetal on KZfaq and the fact that all the concerts they were going to give in Europe were sold out in a few days, convinced the producers to take them to the main stage, where they would share with groups like Metallica, for example. How many girls (they were between 16 and 14 years old at that time) were "terrified" before going out, and they didn't know what scared them more: that they wouldn't understand their music and they would have to run away or that when they went out on stage it would be empty. . But the story was very different, not only was it not empty, but more than 50,000 metalheads, an estimated 95% of whom had never heard of them, finished their fifth and last song chanting "another one, another one." And that's how they achieved popularity in the West as well. They currently have 4 albums on the market: -Babymetal (2013): Their first album and the most childish of all, since they were between 15-13 years old when it came out and had energetic, positive music that left a smile on their faces. Headbanger is from this album. -Metal Resistence (2016): an album that, without losing the essence of the first, shows more mature music, going from childhood to adolescence. Songs like Karate were a large part of his presentation in the West. -Metal Galaxy (2018): a turning point in its style. Without abandoning their energy, they turned their attention to new forms of metal fusion (hip-hop, dance music, Hindu music or European folklore, among others), projecting a much more mature music in keeping with their age, which was already around 21 years old. of Su and the 18 of Moa (unfortunately Yui left the group due to health problems). And now in 2023 they have just released their new album "The Other One", which is, again, totally different from what they have done until now (one of the hallmarks of BabyMetal is that their songs are usually very different some from others (although they are all positive adrenaline releases). Currently BabyMetal is considered the most important Heavy Metal group in Japan (I'm not saying the best, that's for everyone to decide) and the most influential in history in the West (it has reached levels that no other Japanese heavy group has reached before). ). The journey through the Babymetal galaxy may be long, but it is certainly entertaining and with a few songs it drags you with a smile into the fox hole.

Also, You may want to consider reacting to an entire BABYMETAL concert. I suggest the one you just saw a piece of, "Legend 1997 Apocalypse", and/or "Budokan Black Night" (2014).
