When they last toured the US, the Swedish metal band Avatar opened for them. The lead singer says Babymetal is not what he thinks of a band, rather they are more like Cirque du Soleil. They are a highly professional & disciplined team. The band Galactic Empire, opened for Babymetal in Tokyo. Their lead guitarist, Chris Kelly, said of Babymetal: "The BABYMETAL crew has been, hands down, the most amazing, hospitable and accommodating crew we have ever worked with, and their live show is something truly incredible. The talent and work ethic of everyone involved is, in my experience, absolutely unparalleled. Every band, every crew, every show should aspire to match their level of greatness." And that is why the whole demented idea works, because it is implemented to perfection.

Indeed their shows are closer to musicals than concerts, everything, singing, dancing, playing has to fit perfectly in their fine tuned clockworks. I totally love it! 🤘🦊⚡

I had the same thought, and apparently, even Sumetal feels like its more akin to a musical, and her taking on the persona on stage is part of that, almost like a musical act. I just love that she is introspective about that.

Thank you Maidiac 有難う💛。 I am a big BABYMETAL fan and a newbie fan of Band-Maid. I actually bought a Blue-ray disc "Online Oku-ji (Feb.11, 2021). What I am dreaming of is to see 2 BMs on the same stage, hopefully at Budokan. (Or 3 BMs including Band-Maiko, although it seems to me that Maiko does not want to coexist with Maid. 😄 ).

Great reaction and yes, it's a production and if you don't think, just feel, it makes more sense. The show was called "Legend 1997" but the show was in Dec. 2013 the say after the lead singer's (SU-Metal) 16th birthday. They do use backing tracks for the low vocals, growls, etc. This show was about 90 minutes and this song was the 3rd from the last.

Nice & thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。FYI, Kami Band (in the girls' back) and your favorite Band-Maid have been getting along for years. Can you believe that this is the 12th song after 11 exhausting performance? (and still 2 more) In this video, you heard the crowd shout some words at 06:11. The words are "ki-e-ro 消えろ!" meaning "get out of here!". This shout in Japanese comes out wherever they go on this planet and whenever Su-Metal directs her mic towards audiences. 17,500 American audiences did the same thing at the Forum, LA on Oct. 11, 2019. Now in 2021, eight years after this, BM played this song in all of 10 BABYMETAL BUDOKAN Concerts with Su's matured voice and Moa's more agitating moves. I witnessed it 9 times and was enchanted to headbang 9 times ヽ(^o^)丿

This is one of the true strengths of Babymetal. They make it very clear what you are supposed to do and when you are supposed to do it in order to participate. This creates a truly synergistic energy that feeds the girls and the band and they give it right back and then some. I have unfortunately discovered them late and have never had the privilege of seeing them live, but when the energy can be felt the way it is through a video, you know a live experience has got to transcendental.

There are a bunch of reasons a person can conjure up to dislike Babymetal. They're little girls (early on anyway), It's sort of manufactured, they don't write their own songs, they don't play their own instruments, they (mostly) don't sing in English, They are a gimmick, they sing in high pitched voices, ... I'm sure I forgot one or two. All of which are at least somewhat true. The thing is though, none of it matters because their music and stage show is fantastic. I don't give a rats a** if a band follows all the unwritten rules or not, I just want to be entertained. And Babymetal entertains the hell out of me. :) I'm glad to hear you are watching it for what it is. That really is the best way to enjoy them.

Su-Metal has writing credits on Devine Attack-Shingeki now. Moa you might be surprised does play guitar & has since the 4th grade. Su-Metal plays piano which she did during their Bukadan 10th anniversary concert. Amuze needs to start promoting their full talents better. :)
@jeffschreifels8651

@@quantummatrix5722 it is true that Su wrote at least part, if not all the words to Divine Attack. Moa does play some guitar but even she says she hasn't kept up with it. Most people feel she is miming the guitar when she plays. I've never played one so I have no opinion one way or the other except to say most people say she isn't playing it. Same with Su on the piano. Likely pretending to play it. Absolutely none of that matters to me. They are singers and dancers. No one complains that musicians in other bands can't do choreographed dancing while playing the guitar. Why should anyone complain that Moa isn't playing the guitar while she is dancing??! 😆

Great reaction. I'm glad you've given them another shot - they really are all about the live shows and interacting with the crowd. That is one of the main things about them, they respect and love their audience and appreciate they have paid to be entertained, so they never give anything less than 100% in every song at every show whether that is in an arena with all the bells, whistles, fireworks and effects or one of the smaller venues they play on their world tours where it is the stage, the lighting and them. In return the audience becomes a part of the show, they have their own lines to sing or shout, they know (or they are shown and led by the two younger girls Yuimetal and Moametal) when they should all jump or whatever and it all adds to the whole experience. The Kami Band in this one were the late and very great Mikio Fujioka (RIP) and Leda Cygnus on guitars, BOH on bass and Hideki Aoyama on drums. The growling vocals are on a backing track (assisted by the crowd). 'Headbanger' is about a girl going to her first metal concert on her 15th birthday - but it is more than that. 15 is when compulsory education ends in Japan, so it is when they have to make their first big life decision - carry on to further education, start a career, something else ... so the girl in the song is realising life will never be the same, she will no longer be considered as a child and those first 15 years have gone by so fast. So she is etching this special night into her heart so she will never forget. Su-metal was only 14 when they recorded the song, so it is not biographical, but she could certainly relate (and by then she was already playing metal concerts, not just attending one for the first time). Legend 1997 was the show that celebrated her 16th birthday (the day before in December 2013) - she was born in 1997. The gong pays homage to X Japan - they do pay tributes in ways during their performances or in a couple of their songs to those bands who came before them and who they look up to.

i forgot to tell you in my last comment here, the handled fog cannon thing was an idea from the girls to implemented on the show, they did this here looking so cute but later on at Big Fox Festival they look more badass. There's plenty of more things added to the show, songs or dance choreo by them, even the "fox sign" it was created by them, accidentally but it was them, so anyone saying they're just robots following instructions, they just don't know. KobaMetal love this girls like their daughters, even the girls called him "dad", there's a toxic belief trend that the producer only exploit the girls in the wrong way and that's not true. Also, i know you probably will never watch their roots at Sakura Gakuin, that's deep in the foxhole, but they've been taught to being creative and express their ideas while learning to be idols full of skills and their goal to be superladies, the show have a school theme (is not a real school but it works like one), that's why the girls are involved in many more details, of course we got a team here doing more things and Koba is the one supervising all of this. Just like you said, this is a whole show, you either take it or leave it. I like to say, like many others, BM is a complete experience. \m/

Glad you're coming around and able to just enjoy their performance, they are built for live performances/shows - it's what the girls have been doing for a long, long time (even before Babymetal). There are also a lot of fans who love the girls first (and the music second - this is speaking about the Japanese idol culture), I really believe Babymetal have brought more non-metal fans to metal in the last decade than any other artists, they certainly have ignited some interest in the metal genre with their new brand of metal. There is a good video guide, Everything You Need to Know About Babymetal by CrypticMisery, that nicely summarize the history and lore regarding Babymetal, worth a look if you want to know more about them (and the Kami band). Music is there to help expand our horizon - and best of luck with learning Japanese, がんばって!

For me it was the music first, Su-metal's vocals included. But I was lucky in hearing Megitsune first (from the official MV). I was actually a bit put off by how young they were. I expected them to be just a flash in the pan until I saw the official Road of Resistance - Live in Japan. I knew then they had staying power. A few months later and Karate official MV was released. I was blown away and asked that fateful question: "How did this happen?" So now I know the names of all the members of the first 5 nendos of Sakura Gakuin. Watched every Karen Girl's video, know what ASH is, watched a documentary about Mikiko, and even a few episodes of "It's Prius World!" Absolutely adore my (unofficially) adopted Japanese grand nieces from Babymetal.

cool you finally reach this one \m/ _"Hedoban hedoban hedoban hedoban! Ban ban ban ban"_ Oh man, i really loved to see that smile on your face and for right reasons :) Glad you enjoyed this, Babymetal galaxy journey is just gettin started! \m/ I'm totally with you with the japanese task, not an easy task thou. _"Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!"_ is an all time BM favorite, song is about 15 year old girl special birthday going to her first metal concert while leaving her childhood behind, is a melancholic enka japanese style song mixed with industrial metal like you'd never heard before. This song is one of the earliest Babymetal songs and it was released when the lead singer got only 14 years old so it's not biographical song, but the song grows throughtout the time even on the girls while understanding many things on lyrics such the "special discount ticket" japanese people get during certain special day that allow them to travel long distance in public transportation paying only one time so they can go the concert they like. The concept in this live performance is about "Death and Rebirth", and there's plenty reference if you watch the whole concert you'll see this, but instead of that why don't you try "Babymetal Death"? i kinda feel you're totally ready for that song, just please remember that this is "notacult" ;) This live concert "Legend 1997" was during SuMetal 16th birhday, the year is a reference to SuMetal birthyear, so she is 16 and the other girls 14. Songs are even more heavier during live performances with crowd interaction like you saw on this one, and with the blaster sound of "Kami Band" behind even more powerful, they're a set of elite musicians blasting every song they played, they're really a game-changers. Those growling are always backtrack sound, and no one is credited for that, but those are included into the songs with the fair amount of doses. Kami Band members are legends, one of them sadly passed away, R.I.P. Mikio Fujioka, he was the guitarist doing the solo part here. Leda Cygnus - the other guitarist and legendary Kami Band member. BOH - bass player and badass leader. Hideki Aoyama - on drums, he came from family of legendary drumers All of them are active members, except for Mikio of course, his pupil Takayoshi Ohmura who used to work with Marty Friedman (former Megadeth) is another active member, btw they recently did a YT vid talking and showing some skills, sorry i can't share that to you, YT don't want me to do that :( You also have Kari Band songs and live shows, i really hope someone share those "gifts" to you, there's a YT channel list "Kami Band member off stage" if you want to check that out. Babymetal got plenty of lore and stories behind most of their songs, but sometimes is just about fun and lyrics are not so important but the sound and music will never let you down as well as their insane amount of energy they put every live performance, in this case lyrics are meaningful, that's why is one of the most beloved by fans and you hardly see this song not being played during live performances. SuMetal can make anything including that kawaii scream even more better, MoaMetal is the only one who can compete with her kawaii scream. Come back whenever you can with more BabyMetal songs. Till next time \m/ _LIVINGLEGENDS_ _10BABYMETALYEARS_

They can really put on a show like no other. The music itself had to grow on me personally, because let's be honest, it's VERY unique. They won't be my favourite band, but I can definitely enjoy a lot of their music. Plus, like I said, their shows and crowd participation are off the charts, that's where they shine the most in my opinion. I think you would really enjoy Babymetals live performance "Rondo of Nightmare" with the "Mischiefs of God" intro, it features an intro of the musicians in the band and they're fkin amazing. Seriously talented musicians. Plus the song has a completely different tone, as it's about a nightmare you can't escape from.

People can talk about how the girls don't make the music which is true. But that vocal melody that you like was composed by Su. She does all the vocal melodies. Yeah they use tracks. Which in my opinion is perfectly fine because they're a pop metal fusion group. They do some pop music stuff. I think they do it well. All the stuff that is important to be live and makes it sound better are live. Su is always live but sometimes she is singing along with herself on a backing track. They do varying amounts of 'cheating' depending on the show. This is all no secret.

Baby Metal was one of the reasons why I ended up up to my neck in Japanese rock music. What a show, isn't it? There they are taken very professionally down to the smallest detail. The band behind the girls (Kami Band) varies in composition, but they are always top-notch musicians. This is the group I like the most, the one from 2014. One of their guitarists passed away in 2017. Mikio Fujioka, in memoriam. Together with Maeta (drums) and BOH (bass) he formed the Kari Band, an amazing jazz-metal fusion band. If you are interested, I recommend their song Samurai Groove. Satoshi Oka, Mikio's former student, plays on guitar. Thank you! . Great job as always.

Hey! I woke up long enough to write something! Confession, Babymetal was a gulty pleasure of mine from the first time i saw them...lol I was like, "WTH is this?!"... Although it took abit to get used to the "girl idol" thing, sine I had no idea at the time what that was... Someone told me once that alot fo what the other two girls are doing is giving cues to the audience, yelling, jumping, fist pumping I guess...cheerleading...gotta be fun to be in that audience...The whole show becomes an experience... And then later to find out that there is a sort of underlying story line/mythology to all of it... Knowing all that I get to ignore the backing tarcks and whatnot and just participate...and the Kami band....top notch.. I guess the producer guy insisted on it... I kind of watch it now like it's alive anime thing...something like that...it's different that's for sure..I love it...lol Great review!...:)

BABYMETAL are unquestionably a 'manufactured' band, but the level of effort and precision that is put into that manufacturing is unmatched. Every aspect of their shows is calibrated and timed to the mili-second and they nail it every single time. There were a lot of copy-cat bands that popped up in Japan thinking it would be easy to replicate the gimmick, but in the end, the gimmick is just the beginning. It's the hard work, determination, and talent that they pour into the gimmick that makes the whole thing magic.

I wasn't fond of them initially myself (started watching them when Ijime, Dame Zettai was first released) but htye kind of grew on me. At the time a live performance was them doing a stage show to a pre-recorded track including vocals. Their 'Legend' concerts are something to see (especially the one in the Tokyo Dome in front of 50k people) but anyone going to their regular shows expecting the same are in for a disappointment. I do like their music, especially the last CD as song styles are all over the place. My only complaint is the amount of time between CD releases.

That was a great reaction Ryan and welcome in the BM discord ! :) I think one thing that's cool to keep in mind is that BABYMETAL has a lot of songs (especially in the earlier years/songs) that try to be relatable for a part of the population that isn't typically into metal. Their approach is one of tolerance and openness. What's great about BM is when you hear stories of dads and moms taking their kids to a BABYMETAL concert and just enjoy the show with no afterthought. BM is for everyone. Take this song, headbanger for instance, the lyrics are about a 15 year old girl going to a rock/metal concert for the first time. They also have a song about teenagers falling in love for the first time and discovering how weird and confusing those new feelings can be. They also have a song describing kids thanking their parents for their hard work and for giving them life and love through often unseen sacrifices. I think that part is overlooked. They have further widened the gates for everyone into metal. Young kids have BM songs they can relate to aswell as songs their grand parents could relate to. I'm truly glad BABYMETAL exists.

I was just watching that Road of Resistance reaction and saw you were curious on how all this happened, I'll explain the story of the formation of the band because it's pretty interesting. *Key Kobayashi* (Kobametal) was a guy who worked selling pastries at concerts and festivals, he met some people in the industry and joined a medium japanese label, Amuse. Amuse is not a big brand, they just had a big hit with Babymetal. Aside from Babymetal they only own Perfume, Southern All Stars and One OK Rock. So yeah, on this story. Koba became a small producer in Amuse and he had always been a a big fan of metal that had been around enjoying the underground scene in Tokyo for years. He always had this idea in his head of merging idols with metal to bring a refreshing wind to the scene. At the same time in 2008 there was an anime national hit from a children band produced by Amuse, *Over the Future* from Karen Girls. It was formed by three 9/10 year old little ladies, one of them, *Suzuka Nakamoto* (Su-metal). He saw the girl and thought her piercing voice would be perfect for his project, so he convinced Amuse to put Su on his care after Karen Girls disbanded when the anime finished. They started to work together and at the end of 2010 Amuse started a new project, *Sakura Gakuin.* Sakura Gakuin was an idol band that simulated a high school for idols where they trained the young girls to become actresses, models, singers. Inside the group, aside from the main school class, they had some afterclass special activities clubs. The cooking club made a little sub-unit called Minipati formed by three girls, the baton club made a little sub-unit called Twinklestars, and the Heavy Music Club made a little sub-unit called *Babymetal.* No one believed in this madman project at that time (that's why he's managed to have his own brand inside Amuse to manage everything Babymetal related), but he had managed to kickstart his project. To accompany Su, he got the two tiniest girls in the program, *Moa* and *Yui,* that were meant to dance around her like little angels. The little joke started to gain interest among the Sakura Gakuin fans and a year and a half after the program kickstarted Babymetal did its first solo concert in the little Rock May Kan venue (early 2012), a very grassroots small venue for heavy metal little bands in Tokyo. Months later they filled Zepp Diver City and in late 2013 they were playing in Makuhari Messe for 12.000 people, in the concert where they went definitively independent from Sakura Gakuin. It is this concert from the Headbanger you just watched. 2014 was the year of the boom of Gimme Chocolate and their first European tour. In 2016 they were performing at Wembley Arena and filling the Tokyo Dome for an audience of 110.000 people in two days. Sorry for the wall of text.

Good stuff, Ryan! I know it is hard to let go of the way you think of some things and try a different view. Babymetal is all about the show. You don't go watch them, you are part of the show yourself. Yuimetal and Moametal are your guides. I can't wait to be in a show whenever they get back to Texas! Great reaction. Thank you for continuing to give BABYMETAL a chance. During my BABYMETAL journey, it took me a few videos and a couple years before I became the huge fan that I am now. Currently you are starting with their older videos when they were still in their teens and are mostly about things appropriate for their age...for example, this song is about a 15 year old girl going to her first metal concert. Now that they are in their early 20's, their latest album, Metal Galaxy, is a bit less "kawaii" vocally, and covers some mature themes...but still have that BABYMETAL energy. I hope you get to listen to those songs too, especially the 3 songs unofficially named the Trilogy of Lights, "Starlight", "Shine", and "Arkadia". I highly recommend that you listen to them in that order and back to back in one sitting if possible, to experience them properly.🤘🦊🤘

As for the lyrics of BABYMETAL, English has increased in them since their third album, but I think they are originally sticking to Japanese. And when Su- sings, her Japanese pronunciation is excellent. That's one of the reasons why I love BM. In the past and now, Japanese Rock vocalists often sang Japanese like English because of their admiration for the West, or they tried to be cool, but their English pronunciation made native speakers laugh, or they sang with a strange curly tongue. But because it was Rock music, it was allowed. I couldn't accept that, but Su- was completely different. Please learn Japanese, your secret goal. I have also studied English through your BABYMETAL reaction videos. Thank you from Japan.

I am forever grateful to Babymetal for opening my eyes to Japanese metal/ rock music. The Metal Resistance Tour was a magical year for me and the ending at Tokyo Dome was mind-blowing. Since Yui left and Mikio passed away, sadly, the magic subsided for me.If they where ever have a show near me , I would still walk through fire to see them live. Through them I discovered Band-Maid, Lovebites, Nemophila, and a few others and it has re-ignited my interest in music. I have this DVD btw.

Yeah, the screams are backing track, it's studio recorded. Their are 2 things fans would love to see added for live shows: live screaming/growling and keyboardist. At certain shows Babymetal has had a live violin and piano though. 5:00 this is actually correct, the girls on the side Yuimetal and Moametal, next to the dancing and singing their 'official title' in Babymetal is 'scream and dance', scream in this case means: 'energize/encourage the audience', like a yell to have the audience join into movements. It's actually based on old Japanese traditions. Babymetal combines the modern version from pop and those from metal/rock. 6:14 notice them jumping and the audience joining them. That they have choreography helps here, those who have seen Babymetal live before and known the song thus know when to jump along. :-) The gong smash is actually a reference to X-Japan, the drummer/song-writer/pianist of X-Japan was/is always very exhausted at the end of the show and they would regularly end their show with a gong smash by him. 'all' Babymetal does is combine all the kinds of cultures, etc. into one unusual mix. But in the best way possible. The lead singer of Avatar compared Babymetal to Cirque Du Soleil. Avatar opened for Babymetal on a US-tour.

I would love to hear more Babymetal music reactions. I have gotten into Babymetal about 2 months ago during the summer. I remember seeing Gimmie Chocolate many years earlier but with clips. I found it and thought was good. Then, I went down that fox hole and did more research. I was amazed what I saw and read. I am not huge metal fan but this band did open me more open to metal. I always thought metal was pretty scary and seen music videos where things did not always matchup with the songs and were little to no lyrics. I love listening to watch artsists lyrics. I rate my songs like this. If the song has deep good lyrics, good beats, has good instrumentals, good energy, good flow, if the rap is understandable, has any good electro/techno in it, brings something maybe new or interesting, and catchyness. Babymetal is very diverse in their music and I would say pushed metal music genres to new limits especially with certain genres didn't know worked well. I will explain more another message later since got to do something at the moment, but Babymetal community is very nice and loves to help. I will help with I learned when I get the chance and ignore all the toxic or hatters, that is how amazing stuff can be runned.

_"were little to no lyrics"_ That's because you've never encountered the right metal for you, but I'm sure it exists somewhere and you will find it eventually ;-) For example, in regards to the lyrics, Cradle Of Filth comes to mind. A lot of their songs have multiple pages of lyrics, taking inspiration from English (and sometimes even French) literature and poetry. But their music is in the black and death metal spectrum, which is an acquired taste. So even with their deep and meaningful lyrics, it might not be for you.

Let's open your eyes bit by bit by every BabyMetal reaction in the short future time till you widely open :) Take it slow and just like what the BabyMetal lead singer (Su-Metal)says, "don't think, FEEL!" Not every composer can bring their music as good as they wanted to. Not every good musician/instrument player can make a good music. Not every band can bring their music live as good as their studio version. Why not bring all the best of the best to make some good/godly production level performances? And what even greater, BabyMetal include the crowds in their shows and BabyMetal always best enjoyed LIVE, not many band can do this, mostly they can bring the live version as good as their studio version. Welcome back to BabyMetal, Headbanger live is a real banger song, you've seen Su-Metal's solo Akatsuki, and this time you got them full team. To appreciate more with the Kami band skills you can react to another Su-Metal's solo: Rondo of nightmare with mischief of gods intro live Budokan Black night 2014. Or for more crazier crowd interaction, react to Road of Resistance Japan Live. Thank you for this, keep the good work and keep them coming, cheers.

Great reaction. One of their best early performances, for sure. This one works pretty well as a Babymetal calling card; it shows off everything that matters about them really well. I'm glad you listened to the advice in more reasonable comments and just enjoyed the show for what it is. For my part, I think the reason people often take a dim view of "manufactured" musical acts is that they almost always lack sincerity in their performances. Even if it's just the result of very skillful acting, I don't think this is a criticism that applies to Babymetal.

I agree that Babymetal are very theatrical and crowd participation is off the charts. Their big concerts are full on productions with Yui and Moa conducting the crowd interactions, Su being imperious and the Kami Band ripping it up. They are mid-way between a concert and a Broadway show. This concert is Legend 1997 and is a celebration of the lead singer Su-metal as she was born in 1997. She is only just 16 and Yui and Moa are 14 years old, today they are 23 and 21. Headbanger is a bittersweet coming of age story about a 15 year old school girl going to a concert and braving the mosh pit, while knowing the freedom of the moment won't last long. It's used to celebrate BM birthdays and both Yui and Moa have taken the lead in it for their birthdays. The song probably resonated with Su because this concert was the day after her 16th birthday and she had also recently graduated from school and the idol group "Sakura Gakuin", Yui and Moa were both still members, and started working full time with Babymetal. In Legend 1997 the energy of "Headbanger" is followed by the emotion of "Unfinished Akatsuki" and the insanity of "Babymetal DEATH" and together they tell a story about growing up and accepting sacrifice and change. "Babymetal DEATH" can be shocking to some Western people as it uses Christian iconography, but the Japanese are a lot less dogmatic when it comes to religion. Check out those two other songs and you might also like "Road of Resistance".

Legend 1997 Apocalypse concert is a celebration of Suzuka Nakamoto (Su- Metal) 16th Birthday 🎉 or Seitansai. Headbanger (Babymetal song):- "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" (ヘドバンギャー!!, Hedobangyā!!) is a single by the Japanese heavy metal band Babymetal. Released in Japan on July 4, 2012 in promotion for the album Sakura Gakuin 2012 Nendo: My Generation, the single serves as the third single from the debut album Babymetal. It is also the band's first solo audio release to be released commercially. •Single: Babymetal. •Album: Babymetal and Sakura Gakuin 2012. •Nendo: My Generation. •Language: Japanese. •Released: July 4, 2012. •Genre: Power Metal, Heavy Metal. •Length: 14:44. •Label: Juonbu. •Songwriter: Edometal, Nakametal, Narasaki. •Producer: Kobametal. •Narametal: (arrangement). Babymetal singles chronology:- "Babymetal / Kiba of Akiba": (2012) "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!": (2012) "Ijime, Dame, Zettai": (2013) Background and release:- Unlike previous tracks released by the band, which had her vocal recorded in segments within the songs, Nakamoto had her lines recorded in a single take several times. She had been told to sing and find a story within the music. By the time she had comprehended the story behind the lyrics, she grew capable of singing the entire song naturally. When Mizuno and Kikuchi listened to her shouting "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" for the first time, they felt as if they had seen another cool side of her, surprised by the vocal power. Additionally, the single introduced the members to the whispering style of singing, with the A-side's "Kiero!" (Disappear!) and the B-side's "Uki Uki Midnight". Kobametal was inspired to use it to contrast traditional death growls. "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" was announced as a single on April 27, 2012, with a release date set for July 7, 2012. The single was released in two versions: a standard edition, available via CD and digital formats, and a physical limited Hedo-ban ("Head edition"), which contains a CD and a "neck corset" (actually a cervical collar) for headbanging training.[5] Both editions of the single feature the songs "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" and "Uki Uki ★ Midnight" (ウ・キ・ウ・キ★ミッドナイト, "Exhilarating Midnight"), along with instrumental versions (labeled as "Air Vocal ver."). The standard version contains an enhanced CD with a bonus music video of "Babymetal Death", which can only be played on a computer. The artwork of the standard edition depicts a lyric in the song, specifically when the girl is headbanging with the corset, with the crimson-colored moon in the background, as well as the band name appearing at the top. The limited edition artwork depicts a temple scripture of the "Corset of Legend" with the song title spelled out in the middle. Before the physical international release of the song, its title was written ambiguously as either "Head Bangya!!" or "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!", the latter of which is officially used in the international re-release of Babymetal and all future releases. The music video uploaded to the band's KZfaq channel initially had the former name, though it was switched to the latter in 2015; the version uploaded by Toy's Factory consistently retained the official title. Tekina Remix:- During the live performances Legend "D" Su-metal Seitansai at Akasaka Blitz on December 20, 2012, and Legend "1997" Su-metal Seitansai at Makuhari Messe on December 21, 2012, a remix titled "Night of 15 mix." was performed, containing more elements of electronic music. The former took place on Suzuka Nakamoto's actual fifteenth birthday, while the latter was the opening song for the concert. Remixed by DJ'Tekina//Something, the song was later released as part of Social Reform promotional editions of the single "Ijime, Dame, Zettai", and later appeared on DJ'Tekina//Something's remix album Kawa-EDM (2016), re-subtitled as "Tekina Remix". One of the great things about them is they are an experiment in genre mixing. . .so the songs differ a great deal in influence and content. What they always deliver is energy, positivity and quality!!!!!! KamiBandu!!!!!! Many songs have the heavy Kawai influence (cutesy) . .But they have more mature metal as well - Syncopation! Amazing arrangement. If you can find the Saltima performance (slighty heavier mix than Budokon which is good too) of Rondo of Nightmare, I think you will enjoy that (band has solo's in the intro). . .solo of lead singer. More mature content of being caught in a recurring Nightmare. If you want to hear Kamiband go progressive- they have a two part opus tribute to Dream Theater kinda thing that has 40 time signature changes and has only been performed once live. It's called Tales of the Destinies. Thank you for giving them another shot Ryan. Generally it takes three songs to really start to figure them out. . .so hope you will try one more. Also, YOU WILL LOVE WAGAKKI BAND! Imagine a Rock band with traditional Japanese folk instruments and Taiko drumming. Try their cover of "Bring me to Life" with Amy Lee on guest vocal. Babymetal to me are better live or via dvd, blu-ray concert than just listening. Like classic metal its a show and entertainment rolled up it one package. Don't forget band maid and Miku harking back to her maid cafe days, with Miku's magic spell time well worth reacting to. Also you have to remember babymetal girls at times were 15 and 16 years old. One black babymetal song was written by Yui and Moa. Su herself wants to be a singer song writer so they will get there.

I'm glad you found the off switch for your inner songwriter ;). You're also one of the first KZfaqrs I noticed mentioning her enunciation. She's an exceptional vocalist, but I think that's the point that makes her really stick out. Besides her ability to convey the feelings of songs without the need to understand what she's singing (especially with the more serious songs). The growling/screaming and everything you can't see on stage, like keyboard/piano or synth, is all backing track. I don't really care if it's done that way, but I'm not the biggest fan of it when it comes to groups that perform with a backing band (I think it's ok if it's a tight knit band who doesn't have a keyboardist/screamer, whatever). I personally think they could just put an additional guy with a keyboard on stage, they're anonymous (officially) anyways. I don't like to compare groups, especially if they're completely different in style, music and attitude, but I actually prefer the way BiSH for example is doing it, they only perform with band at their bigger shows, but then they go all out, up to having an entire orchestra on stage. The crowd interaction, while it's amazing, is nothing unique in Japan. I don't know how it is with Babymetal, but fan clubs of more standard Idol groups even hold gatherings to rehearse crowd choreography and shouts to accompany what happens on stage, it's kind of their way of singing along. Japanese Idol (and music in general) fans are on another level when it comes to dedication for their favorite group. That's maybe also a reason why they often only follow one group, kind of like we westerners do with sports teams, regardless of if there's 20 other groups with similar music and styles.

Really enjoyed your reaction. Babymetal is not for everyone. Even as a diehard fan, I very rarely listen to their CDs. I prefer the spectacle of the live shows. Babymetal is a live experience. I have 5 of their live performances, on DVD. The musicianship, choreography, vocals, is not something that can truly, be captured on CD. They are a performance group, of very talented people. I hope you will continue your journey and look forward to seeing further vids. Kitsunes up! 🤘🦊🤘

The sound is so good because the producer contracted the best sound guy in the world to setup their system and almost went bankrupt. He doesn't cut corners on anything and will the deliver the highest quality possible. Yeah, keyboards, growls and some other effects are on the back track which means they have to play in prefect time, all the time, every time. It is not all super mechanical, the war cry Moa the dancer gave before shooting her fog gun we her improv, he is the best crowd interactor of the group and will deviate from the script the most.

Yeah, Nightwish, Band-Maid use backing tracks too. You have to when things are that complex, but it does keep you locked in a mode. I don't think I could do it honestly. I'm a blues guy at heart....I can barely stand using a click track to record!
@turbozed
@turbozed 2 жыл бұрын
@@RyanMear The click track is a necessity for the choreo. So they are definitely 'locked in' like you say. Otherwise the whole package wouldn't work. One way to look at it is as metal-infused musical theater. There are a few songs that you can check out where the Kami band plays solos before a song, and where they improv a bit (even if they have to stay on time). These songs are Rondo of Nightmare, YAVA, Awadama Fever, Kagerou, and Catch Me if You Can.

@@RyanMear Yeah, I think of it as metal theater. It requires lots of production and coordination like putting on a play. Shakespeare never was on stage and the actors never wrote the plays and his plays would suck if everyone just wondered aimlessly around the stage. I listen to Punk Rock for the raw stuff.

Every passionate fanbase has its share of black sheep who are just taking it too far. But I believe that in total the BABYMETAL fans are relatively well behaved and understanding. Many of them are the kind of people I'd pour my heart out to without ever having met them. Su once said "no thinking, just feeling", and I think that's the correct way to approach BABYMETAL. Just let yourself get infected with the energy. I'm glad we saw a few smiles. I just remembered a compilation of scenes showing some interaction between the girls and the instrumentalists. Perhaps that helps to alleviate that feeling of separation between them that you mentioned in your last video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a7iPY8ec3ZvYp58.html
