Absolutely one of my faves! Make sure you watch the 2014 Sonisphere version for Yui time. It is awesome as well as a big moment in their history. Also, in the MV, that was Babybones Band acting like they were playing. Babybones wears the skeleton costumes. Great reaction!

Great double reaction. IDZ is right up among my own favourite songs - and it was the second song they ever played live, so one of the earliest things they did ... the lyrics are deep and meaningful (something they were accused of never having by the people who called them "bubblegum pop"). It dates back to long before the Kami Band became a thing. You will never see the Kami Band in official videos unless they were filmed at live concerts. The guys in the skeleton suits in the MV were known as Babybones - you may see them in some early concerts (they were there for show, they didn't actually play the instruments). Yes of course Yui and Moa were playing the guitars in the video😇🤫 ... every bit as much as Babybones were playing theirs.☠🎸🎸☠ The hairy guy in the MV was representing the spirit of metal. He was being bullied, having his hair cut and guitar smashed by the mainstream pop and hip hip guys (as was pretty much the case figuratively in Japan around that time) until he saw the "Stand up Metal" message painted on the rock ... and was revealed as a Babybone guitarist at the end. They use IDZ mainly for encores now - they played it on the last date of the US tour and again on the last date of the European tour last year. The choreo is pretty much the same as always - maybe Moa and Momoko don't sprint quite as hard and fast at the start as Yui and Moa did early on. Also yes that was Su stepping in to break up the fight and threatening to kick them both in the head if they didn't stop bullying each other. There are so many good early performances of IDZ, the most famous being at Sonisphere 2014 in the UK, their first time in the UK and their first major event outside of Japan with over 50k potentially hostile UK metalheads to impress.

Choreography slightly changed over the years: they toned it a bit down! You can notice it in Ijime, Dame, Zettai (IDZ in short) and headbanger, where the girls jump a bit less, run a bit less.

I was very lucky, since the first BABYMETAL concert I was able to go to was in December in Madrid, the last one of the tour. They performed Ijime, Dame Zettai as an extra at the end. My favorite song so far I get emotional every time.

And just a note, anytime you see the musicians behind Babymetal dressed in Skeleton outfits during Live shows (and in their early MV's)..that's not a real band, but rather "Babybones", actors pretending to play as Babymetal sang to a backing track..they could not always afford a real band..especially early on in their career. One of my all time favourite Babymetal songs. I've been lucky enough to see it live six times, including the PIA performance. IDZ is usually played as a finale, often during the encore, as was the case at PIA. They went through a number of outfit variations during 2013, so you see a lot of different outfits in the videos from that period. Yes, this is the Kami Band of the West playing at PIA; they played the entire 2023 world tour. The only show that the Kami Band of the East have played since Babymetal returned from the hiatus was Babymetal Returns in January 2023. If you want to watch another versions of IDZ with Yui, watch the performance at Sonisphere 2014. It is one of the most important performances of their career because it was their first metal festival outside Asia and they were performing in front of the notoriously tough UK crowd that didn't really know much of anything about them, but they managed to win them over in 30 minutes. It was one of the pivotal moments in them getting recognition and respect in the western metal scene.

First, the musicians are not the East Coast Kami band. They are called Babybones. They were used early on when Babymetal did not have enough money to pay for a back up band (aka East/West Kami band) and they do not actually play the instruments. A backing track was used. Also, yes, Yui and Moa were faking the guitars however, Moa does actually know how to play guitar.

Awesome reaction! This was their 3rd or 4th song, but 1st "official" debut single as Babymetal after splitting from Sakura Gakuin. I love the music video, as it shows the "idol industry" beating up the "metal head", and Babymetal eventually protecting him and making him part of the pack. Very representative of the "Metal Resistance" theme, which is to infiltrate the idol industry and bring metal music to the world. There's another epic version of IDZ, which is from Sonisphere UK 2014, of course, with Yui. This was the first major international show outside of Japan, and Babymetal won over ~65K confused UK metal heads who never heard of them before. This show legitimized Babymetal at a major metal festival worldwide. Note on Kami Band: Kami East started backing Babymetal in 2012 for encores only and was never part of studio or music videos. Starting in 2014, they backed Babymetal fully for all their live shows. For some reason, the part in the choreography where Su interrupts the fighting girls and then makes them get together while they are doing pirouettes always makes me emotional (sorry for the bad description). Another thing that always strikes me: What other band is there that gives you so much joy just by running from edge to edge of the stage after the song and smiling?
