Nice one, thanks! What you want is nearly impossible hehe... A bigger production (like this one) and showing properly the kamis (as they deserve) is very difficult. And it's been like this since the very beginning to a greater or lesser extent. At least they still have the solos section (at least on tour). You only get to see them more on 360 stages like at Budokan 2014 (not on 2021) and Tokyo Dome 2016. Yes, this is from the first Blu-ray (Black Night), so Momoko was announced as an official member at the end of this concert. Being Clear Night her first show as a full fledged BABYMETAL member. Both Blu-rays (and shows) are amazing. Got my copy last week alongside the live album featuring all the new songs from The Other ONE. Very good production and very important moment for them. I recommend everyone to buy it. 😁 🤘🦊

You'll only see elaborate shows like this in Japan at large venues like Saitama Arena, Yokohama, or Tokyo Dome. Better start saving. 😀

Good reaction. You are correct - these were the concerts on 1st April (Black Night) and 2nd April (Clear Night) at PIA MM Arena in Yokohama. Momoko was revealed as the new member at the end of Black Night, at Clear Night they had their new, shiny costumes and Momometal was all mic'd up. The Kami Band were right there behind them, but to either side as the stage was divided into three stages and the girls were on the centre stage (which also lifted up and down) for this song. In these big arena shows in Japan the staging may mean they are not as obvious in the BluRays etc, but they are right there and anybody at the concerts can see and watch them as much as they want. I know you didn't get the best view from where you were when you saw them recently, but if you had been lower down and more central you would have seen the Kami Band are not pushed back any more than they ever were and they do still get their moments in concerts (most recently with the solos before 'Metali' and each of them taking turns to add their own flare during the part in 'Megitsune' where Su talks to the audience).

Happy I got to see this one in Vegas. You are correct, this was the first night. Second night (Clear) they had the new costumes and Momometal was now a full member. The Blu Ray is amazing. I received it the day I came back from the LA show. 🤘🦊🤘

Babymetal has deliver 2 big stage shows outside of Japan, both for album releases: Metal Resistance album release in 2016, performed at Wembley Arena, near/in London in the UK and The Forum near LA in the US in 2019 to support the Metal Galaxy album release.

This was at Babymetal Begins - The Other One: Black Night & Clear Night, which took place on April 1st and 2nd at PIA Arena MM in Yokohama. This video was recorded at Black Night, and Momo was announced as the new member of Babymetal at the end of the show, so it was her last show as Avenger. On the following night at Clear Night, they wore their new outfits and Momo had a mic once she was officially installed as the third member. I was at both nights and it was an incredible experience. The whole first night everyone was filled with anticipation because we were all expecting the announcement after what happened at Babymetal Returns in January, but we didn't know when they would do it. When the announcement came at the end of the show on Black Night, the crowd absolutely roared. After that, the entire show on Clear Night felt like a celebration to welcome Momometal fully into The One, and it was amazing.

I will say that in the concert I went to in Seattle and im assuming a few others during their babylock tour, the kami band had their own solo sections during the concert

Even without the crazy light show, this was awesome live. The Kami Band is amazing, and you're right, I wish they weren't practically invisible most of the time.

Momoko got mike only the very next evening - called Clear Night, easily recognisable with their new bright costumes. Also, Kami Band still plays solos even nowaday, lately before Metali, on earlier tours before Kagerou . But since 2019 they have masks and kept at back, which is seen by many as a downgrade.

I agree with you about Kami Band, they're more anonymous now. Mikio (RIP), Takayoshi, BOH, Leda got me into new bands/music because I discovered them through BABYMETAL. But still...BABYMETAL is about the ladies!

Yes, this is the footage from 'Black Night' on 1 April, the first day of the Yokohama 2 Days Live. I went there on this day. I guess there is more footages of Kami Band than before, but I wish Koba would stop them to put the masks.

I fully agree about the Kami Band. I wish they were on stage with the group. Sure, those stages are cool, but not cooler than having the whole band up there. I'd rather have a plain, flat stage with the band fully visible behind the group than the most flashy stage with the band pushed to the fringes.

Yeah I miss the old Eastern Kami band too, but also I understand with the logistics and tour schedules they can't (or don't want to) keep guys of that caliber sitting around waiting for the next tour and so making them more "plug and play" is easier. But I still think having them out of the spotlight is a loss for fans.

I totally agree with the Kami Band comment. I am truly hoping they are moved forward a bit more in the future, and, the masks gotta go! Also, even for Kami West, it's essentially the same guys, Chris Kelly, CJ Masciantonio, and Anthony Barone on drums. I think Clint Tustin (bass) was switched out for someone else recently, but these guys have been Kami West since 2019, so really, no need for masks? I miss OG days when we saw their facial expressions of Kami East, it was such a better vibe. I bet it would be the same with Kami West. On Momo, yes you are correct, Momo was announced as the official 3rd at the outro/ending of Day 1 Black Night. Day 2, Clear Night, their outfits changed, and Momo is mic'd up. 🤘🦊🤘🦊

I am so with you on the Kami Band-at least the Western Kami Band. Two things: bring these amazing musicians more into view and ditch the f--ing masks. I can't imagine it's a treat looking forward to playing in those night after night. Good solid reaction and yeah, definitely got Japan envy when it comes to the concert performances, sigh.

I saw them in Phoenix and I was very disappointed with the sound mix. The bass was so prominent the building shook. It also drowned out the guitars and the girls’ voices. I would like to see them again in a different venue.

Welcome back to BabyMetal's metalverse 🦊🤘🌐 This song belongs to latest album The Other One but it wasn't part of the 5 singles released prior to the album release, although it becomes one of fans favorite from this album real fast. Maya in Hindu myth is the representation of illusion (which is the theme in this song), so that might be the reference. Here's some official info: MAYA (ILLUSION) _Reality is an illusion. The truth may be a deception._ _It is a feeling as if you wandered in between the Real World and the Virtual World. It may be magic, or it may be an illusion._ The Western Kami Band playing this live at PIA Arena MM (April 1st) certainly gives some aggressive flavor and with MomoMetal now officially as a new member, once again this was performed during Black Night, at the end of this night she was announced as MomoMetal, the night after this (Clear Night) they're wearing the new costume (as well the mic on MomoMetal) you can see at Mirror Mirror, METALIZM official MV and the recently released Divine Attack - Shingeki live version. You were correct, this was the April 1st show at PIA arena and Momo was revealed as the new member the next day on April 2nd. The Kami band was positioned more to the sides behind the two other stages but still very visible. They also still get their moment to shine like the Metali solos during the recent US tour.

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 This song was played 9 times during their North American tour with DETHKLOK. As you pointed out, that is different from this video filmed on Day-1 (April 1) in Yokohama when the performance was done right before the dawn of newly born BABYMETAL. You are right! Momometal was not official member yet and she did not have a mic back then. [FYI : I witnessed this very performed live with West (American) Kami Band at the venue. Japanese fans always appreciate the devoted support by Chris, CJ, Anthony and Clint (before now Ryan). I can't explain how amazing it was with my English vocabulary. 😍] Regarding "Maya", Su said "The lyrics in English 'How would you know ... is all an illusion' is not the kind of expression that BABYMETAL have not had in the past." She added " When it comes to sound, I like a part where my voice seem to fade into fog but it does exist there" [source: magazine PMC vol. 27 page 40] Our queen has grown into a lady with a philosophical viewpoint, I guess.
