This was the opening song of the concert, and it was meant to be a big theatrical production. This concert, which I was lucky enough to be at, was also their triumphant return from their nearly two year hiatus, so it was meant to be a grand celebration for the diehard fans, and it delivered in spades. This song however, is not really representative of what the rest of the show was like. Most of it was a classic Babymetal show, where they did a mix of new and classic songs, with some little twists ans surprises to keep us guessing. That said, Babymetal has always been theatrical, and we often say that Babymetal is as much a stage production as it is a rock concert. Babymetal is in the midst of a bit of an evolution at the moment, with the new album, 'The Other One' being a concept album that has a distinct style and mood (based on what we have heard) that is a bit different from what they have done in the past. They seem to be going to a grander more cinematic kind of sound, and it's not grabbing everyone, but I'm totally onboard for it.

A good, honest reaction. 'Metal Kingdom' is the opening track on the album (being released 24th March) - so of course they used it for the epic theatrical opening number at their concerts two weeks ago. The video was released less than a week after the concerts they filmed it at, so it is understandable why it has the studio audio. We will have to wait for the DVD for the live audio. Jake Muller has provided you with his usual excellent information and recommendations for songs and performances (and videos you can use without being blocked) that may be more the sort of thing you were expecting and that you might enjoy more, so I hope you will follow his advice.

The reason why you're not understanding is because you're witnessing a new BM era, this time returning with a more mature sound and a new BM side we've never seen before, they already sealed Metal Resistance chapters and they grew up and evolving, they're not kids/teens anymore and that's why some of the older kawaii metal style songs isn't in this new era, so far the 5 songs of this album is what is telling us, we're gonna have to wait for full album release next March 24, but they al reinventing this concept and making something to bring back those good all time flavors. Also BM isn't only about music, they're the ultimate visual experience with the whole package like any other group around. Btw since YuiMetal left the group officially in 2018 the only front women and official members of this group are SuMetal and MoaMetal, after that year you'll see backup dancers along with them but none have mic or sing, they only dance, but that may change this year, read more next. This is why BabyMetal have no match among any other Japanese artists, top notch worldwide. Many others are finding Game Of Thrones resemblance on this stage setup, it looks insane. The ten prophets are holding crosiers with "The Other One" logo which is similar to the infinite symbol "OO" and is the title of upcoming 4th album. The girls are carrying some kind of trident similar to the Spear Of Destiny or Lance Of Longinus from Evangelion series, if you know MoaMetal you know you got be careful with her. 🔱 This is the opener of the live show and first song of the album, next is Divine Attack - Shingeki, no live clip yet but we know they dance on this, meanwhile you got official visualizer to enjoy the song. The track conveys imagery of one rising powerfully from the throne of silence, with a suitable fanfare announcing this new beginning._ At the end of January at Makuhari Messe they held two great live shows returning to the stage after almost two years. and by far they meet up my expectations with this epic live performance and top notch production. SuMetal and MoaMetal showing why they're a queen and princess deserving their thrones. The cinematic drone shots are just insane. We were expecting this live proshot version but we'll have to wait next month for live sound. We got so many big news and announcements, a new official member is coming (most likely Momoko Okazaki, the one who has been performing with them all these years and latest live concerts) next live shows in April 1 (Fox Day) when returning once again with another headlining shows at PIA ARENA MM Yokohama. Also they performed with a new BM mirror unit coming from another world of this metalverse, so we're guessing maybe some of the older kawaii metal songs they don't play anymore will be back with this new unit, so stay tuned for more but like always OTFGK. Thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 Your confusion is natural. This is from very recent shows on Jan.28 /29. BM have changed and will be changing more. I witnessed both shows at the venue. You saw one octagonal movable / elevatable stage but actually there were two identical stages for more surprising production. Several drones with camera were flying around all over the venue. Once this opening song by Su and Moa got started, I had goosebumps all over my body. The show was held after the almost 2-year long hiatus after all. Seriously many of audience were moved to tears and/or dropped their jaws when the gigantic fox wall opened and the thrones came out. Yeah! I chanted all through the song. ♪ Oh oh oh o o o ♪. What a happy experience!! After this grave opening, 3 girls performed 12 songs with Momoko, a support dancer. Did you see 3 (not 2) thrones ? The official 3rd girl is going to be unveiled in the next shows in Yokohama on April 1/2. Yes, at last ✌ ps. I managed to get tickets to the shows in April. 😍

I like this song, but I like it for it's role as the opener, setting the stage for the album/concert. In my mind, this song requires the next song to be appreciated. Definitely would like to see what you think of their other material!

Well it was a reopening for Babymetal but on the other hand it was probably the old Babymetal and it was probably only a part for the old unit while in the background everyone started to prepare for the New unit. And I presume Kobametal was in fact interested to drop the price for Su and Moa. For him it was probably a case of legacy change. Go to the background and do what you can do for them but the girls have to take their new roles serious, the next time he might not be in a position to hold the lines for them. His responsibility had to change to Metalverse but at the same time they were still his girls but on the same time they must learn the complete control of this ship. Now they have their complete first year behind them and should start to worry about their next Album.

I can understand your confusion as this is the studio recording with live concert visuals. There is a disconnect because we assume we should hear the crowd especially during the chanting parts.. For Babymetal fans we happily take whatever they give👊🏽⚡️

More of a stage show huh? I suppose you like going to a concert and spending outrageous ticket prices to see a band just stand up there playing the same music that you could sit home in the comfort of your easy chair with headphoness and listen to FOR FREE. BabyMetal is a LIVE experience with music that can also be enjoyed at home but yes their concerts are stage productions. And thankfully so.
