This is live complication and music from this video is from their concert at Tokyo Dome at 2016 (there are no scenes from this concert in this video) when Moa and Yui sing background together. Nice reaction. Syncopation is one of my favorite and thank you for this.

Great song and only performed once outside Japan at Brixton Academy in London. One of my favourite songs and when intro started i could not belive it was going to be performed the audience went nuts 😁🤘🦊🤘

⚡ 💀 💕 / 🎶 💕 They have been very clear in interviews that BABYMETAL will be moving forward with Su and Moa at its core. They are the only ones promoted and marketed as BABYMETAL. If it bugs you, it bugs you, but I don't think adding a fake microphone for the supporting dancers would have been a good solution. I'm sorry that it affected your score though. This compilation video featured two of the three rotating dancers known as "avengers" that BABYMETAL had in their 2019 to 2021 performances. Out of respect for Moa, who has been with the group from the start, the "avengers" do not have a singing role. Also, it might be a little strange to have a different sound, depending on which girl was performing with BABYMETAL. That helps set Moa apart. This also means that Yui has not been directly "replaced", something her fans appreciate. This setup also provides them with options in the case of sickness, injury, etc. They have had a similar arrangement with the Kami Band for many years. The last thing the BABYMETAL team, or Amuse, Inc. wanted was a repeat of 2018 where Yui's status was uncertain, and this helps avoid that. It did let them return to the triangle formation that much of the choreography is built around, something many fans wanted.

You are hearing Yui's voice I believe as well since this was a compilation. Other's have explained in more detail. 🤘🦊🤘

I understand why they don’t give the third girl a mic and I understand how you don’t like hearing multiple backup singers when only one is singing. I’ve heard a few live performances when there is no backing track and it’s only Moa’s live vocals. It sounds so odd not hearing two sets of vocals.

Btw the moment you paused it was MoaMetal with the mic (which is an official BM member) and then switch on avenger Kano Fujihira (which is not) without a mic, that's the confusion. And no, the girls don't introduced each Kami Band member on any show, they got a role persona inside the BM lore since the beginning and the introduction was clear for everyone, they're just the god of guitars, god of bass and god of drums. Syncopation was the track exclusively for Japanese album while From Dusk Till Dawn was released for International version of Metal Resistance, although later on they performed this song outside of Japan because is a banger with more rock sound rather than metal. Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 Enthusiastic UK fans, at least two guys, will show up soon and boast that they witnessed this song performed live at a venue, because it has been performed only once in London to date (outside of Japan). "Syncopation" reminds me, an aged Japanese, of good old songs to which I listened several decades ago at home sitting in front of a TV set. BABYMETAL, however, gave a new power to this type of song. That is one of the magics they have. In the last year's 10 BABYMETAL BUDOKAN concerts, I witnessed this song beautifully performed twice at the venue. When the intro started, my heartbeat went faster.

This is why compilation videos should be avoided. You are hearing 2 voices in the background vocals because the audio used in this video is from a performance with Moa and Yui. Yui being the other member of Babymetal that used to provide backup vocals. Live performances of this song as they are now only has Moa as backup vocals. So yeah, the no mic thing is annoying to a point, less annoying if you are watching the same performance with the correct audio associated with it. You don't need to react to it but search up Babymetal - Syncopation (Fox Festival 2017 Live) Eng Sub and watch that. I could be wrong but I am pretty sure the audio comes from that show.

Good reaction, but as other commenters have pointed out, you watched a compilation video that may have audio taken from a show with Yui singing along with Moa not used in the video itself. Compilation videos can be tricky beasts. The mic thing is getting old now, the Avengers are there to dance, Su and Moa are the members of BABYMETAL and they sing (and for all we know it may have even been their decision that the Avengers should not get mics - I get the impression Koba will happily take the heat either way). Nothing you, me or anybody else thinks will change that and giving the Avengers dummy mics would be pointless - and yes you can sometimes see them singing along and enjoying the songs, you just can't hear them. Rick Wagner has said everything else I may have thought to say - and like MartinMetal I was one of the very fortunate people at Brixton, London in 2019 to have experienced the one time they performed this song outside of Japan. 😊

You hear two voices because this is a compilation with audio from a different show where Yui was still in the band. On actual live performances now days, you only hear Moa. I know what you're saying though, and realistically they should let whomever the Avenger is at live shows sing. They are certainly talented enough to do it, and it would allow them to revisit older songs that aren't possible to really do with a single backup singer, like Catch Me If You Can.

Babymetal frequently uses backing tracks. If you haven't noticed that yet I am surprised. There are a number of songs where some of Su's vocals are on backing track (Megitsune) and she harmonizes with herself sometimes. The third woman is a dancer, that is it, she does not sing.

I agree w/ you. The Avengers are all good singers. They can never replace Yui but, at least, let them perform. Riho was an Ace herself. Moa has a mic because she’s an original member. She’ll always have a mic.

The manager Koba works in mysterious ways. I have no idea why they refused the "Avengers' (that's what they called the rotating relacements) mics. It is indeed kinda a self-own.

Theory about the Avenger's and the missing mic: Koba (producer) doesn't want to add the mic to the Avengers because it would mean they are permanently replacing Yui. And the fanbase is fanatical to the extreme. So there would be massive blowback. Which is a headache Koba doesn't really want. So he compromised.

I agree it's sad to see one girl not having a mic but there were three girls in rotation and you have to have three different track mixes for each if not singing.

Moa has a mic and sings. The other dancer was temporarily and her contract I imagine did not include singing. I think it came down to $$/royalties. I bet even having a fake mic would entitle that performer to more $$ when in fact she did not sing on the album

All of BabyMetal's Avengers are great singers and great dancers. All KAMI musicians are top-notch musicians. 🦊

Oooohh don't get me started on "real" vs "not" with BABYMETAL. It comes down to this, BABYMETAL are performance art, not a band, not an idol group, but a show. I happen to love a lot of what they have done but some of their management's decisions are almost designed to piss the fans off and that sucks for Su and Moa who are both talented young ladies. It seemed like everything was going fine before Yui left and then the illusion started to fade and the truth started to show through the cracks. The truth isn't bad, per se, it just isn't what a lot of music fans really want. That said, I've seen them live twice and would go again, it's a fantastic show, tbh. The band rotate, it's not always even Kami band so they don't introduce them or really do any MC stuff in the shows. Su will invite you to mosh though. 😁

So you have to down-vote ALL their live performances since 2018. The mic thing (or better, not getting the avengers a mic) was Koba's decision. We have discussed this topic for years but this is how it is. The additional harmonies were added on post production for the DVD/BD purpose. This is a recurrent topic as well and it's pretty obvious. It's not fair that these details affect your score. The song is a 9.6 (at least) 😁

They have songs with solo intros. Try catch me if you can or rondo of nightmare. Both have awesome solo sections.

I don‘t think anybody understands why the Avengers don‘t sing, especially considering that all of them are professional singers. In some performances we can hear Moa do the backing vocals on her own (e.g. in Karate), and I think it takes away from the experience a little. One of the backing singers‘ jobs is to lead the audience through the „chanting“ parts, but with only one voice those are much less recognizable as such. That being said, it obviously still works reasonably well, the crowd is still hyped. I don‘t think giving them a mic would change much unless they really sang. The mic as a purely visual feature doesn‘t strike me as very essential.

Why the avengers didn't have a mic? Because when Yui left the group, she takes her mic with her and stinky Amuse couldn't afford to buy another one for avengers.

😆I get it! With that said from what I (in my opinion) perceive is the voice of Moa with the headset mic actually singing with another voice of Moa added in backtrack to multiply the sound. But it is really Moa singing plus one added Moa backtrack. Whew!!! Any girl being able to be just a part of the BabyMetal on stage LIVE experience is probably a big deal for any of the three Avengers so if they don’t mind? Always enjoy your BabyMetal reactions, keep them coming.😉

She is not part of Babymetal so why would she have a mic she is a backup dancer Babymetal is Su-metal and Moametal but your going to downgrade the video with your score because they didn't fake it with the third girl having a fake microphone that's ridiculous that's ludicrous and yes on some of the songs Babymetal do the backing track does have layered vocals and what band doesn't use vocals on a backing track just to create a fuller sound that shouldn't matter because Su and Moa are still singing live

The Fox god has not given the Avengers voice but Moa's voice is present in most songs except Su's solo stuff

Babymetal unlike most Japanese groups never introduces anyone, not even the girls, not on stage. And Su and Moa are the ones who do not accept the Avenger as an equal, not management. Momoko, the Avenger here, in school said her ambition was to be a backup dancer for a major artist so she did alright.

Yeah, the mic thing, I think the Avengers dont sing because of contract/pay/marketing. Sometimes, it sounds weird when Moa does it alone but there are supposed to be 2 voices. Moa singing her part with a Moa on the backing track might be better for some of the songs.

Well you've just to understand that the 3rd girl isn't part of the group and only a hired dancer.

I 100% wish they would choose someone to fill in Yui's old spot and give her a mic. There is no excuse not to and I think it makes them look bad that they don't. At the end of the day however, it is their band and if they have a different vision then that's that way it is. Its one blemish but they more than make up for it in every other way.

I understand your point, but don't think of BABYMETAL as anything like Metallica in the '90s, here it's a quite different story. 2018 was a dreadful year, the death of Mikio, the illness of YUI put the whole project under a very strong pressure, in the end it was up to SU and MOA to decide, wether keep it rolling or not, really not an easy one. The first solution with the Muscle Metals didn't appeal the fans, nor convinced that much even them, the choreographs were all based on a pyramidal formation, thus they got to roll back to three on stage, that's how they ended up with the Avengers. But they had to differentiate BM from the Avengers, exactly as they did with the Kami Brand, because SU and MOA are the core, the ones everything is focused on. That was important also to give back more confidence to them, they really needed to prove themselves they can still deliver. Think this, after many, many live shows in front of thousands, when they started their US tour in Kansas, they were literally afraid of the outcome. Besides all this, there's also another problem, it was already not easy to get the 3 Avengers on stage, dancing for an hour straight at that pace, find someone that can still sing through all of that, that's really hard. Think this, even after many shows, Momoka could barely get to the end of their ones at Budokan, for their longer ones, they needed to switch between two Avengers, how that could have worked out with mics? Because yes, they add backtracks for choruses, but MOA actually sings her lines, pretty strongly I'd say. It would have ended up a mess and mortified MOA's performance. But, as I said, don't misunderstand, SU and MOA were very supportive, they helped the Avengers get through the shows, just watch Glastonbury, with Riho that was already on her knees halfway through it, MOA kept cheering her till the end. Not really a Newsted situation here. 🤘🏻🦊⚡

The band sadly never been introduced because Babymetal is only their SIDE job, but mostl BM fans know their identity

I'd rather the support girls were using mics too really - it's not like they can't sing - I didn't mind at first but after all this time.....I'm not sure if this is why they often seem to use such a lot of backing stuff, and it seems mean to all the wonderful backup girls who also have to learn all the choreography

If you want to see three microphones, limit yourself to concerts up to October 2017. A fake microphone is almost a lie. Fans would not accept that. Besides, a backup dancer is cheaper than someone who does both backup vocals and backup dance. Just saying.
