Dr. Shafique Matin, a distinguished Scientist, is celebrated for his groundbreaking contributions to Satellite-based applications across various sectors, notably Agriculture, Biodiversity, and Climate Change. Hailing from the quaint town of Araria in northern Bihar, he was raised in a humble farmer family. Despite the constraints of limited exposure to higher education and a society predominantly conversant in Hindi and Maithili, Dr. Matin displayed exceptional resilience and determination. His journey led him to achieve education at premier institutions like IIT and focus on his personality development, propelling him to collaborate with luminaries from ISRO, NASA, and the European Space Agency. Throughout his illustrious career, Dr. Matin has shared his insights and research outcomes with audiences across 17 countries. His professional trajectory includes roles as a Scientist in the Government of India, stationed in Chennai, and tenures at ISRO and the Irish Government. Beyond his academic achievements, Dr. Matin finds immense pride in his role as a devoted father to Sharry and Masha and a loving husband to Dr. Farah Siddiqui.
