The only animes that I've watched that have Jazz themes: 1. Lupin III(the theme) 2. Cowboy Bebop(Tank!) 3. Baccano-Guns and Roses And Detective Conan had some nice jazz ost, especially the main theme

Baccano is a great example of how to make characters that are insane in some ways yet somehow likeable at the same time. The storytelling is superb and the english dub has to be one of the best I've ever heard

IMO this show is better than Durarara. While Durarara has heaps of great, deep characters like Baccono, I can't stop seeing Ryugamine and maybe Celty as the two MAIN characters, whereas in Baccano I felt like there was no clear main character. Plus, Baccano has this crazy unique feel to it that really sets it apart from so many other animes and makes it so refreshing and interesting to watch. Maybe it's the awesome 30s USA setting that does it. Either way, both shows are fantastic and I hope this one gets a second season. I NEED MORE ISAAC AND MIRIA!!!

And I would agree with the uniqueness of Baccano. everyone have equal focus whereas in durrr they focused more on some of the characters. you would see baccano is made up of each character. both great series though.

+littlescruby It's a great show, and I'm genuinely sad that it will never get a second season. It didn't even make it to the end of its original first season due to lower popularity then the studio had expected (the 3 OVAs where to wrap things up).

One of my favourite anime of all time. Wasn't impressed upon first watch, couldn't even finish Ep1. Now I love it, so much. I would be so happy to see this anime come back, same legendary opening and all. If that happened I would actually cry happy tears.

I love, *love*, *LOVE* this anime. I love the characters, I love the storylines and, most of all, I love how the story is told and the ending. The writer in me fawns over shows and stories like this, where they keep you from seeing the full picture and all the connections until the end. And that ending, in my eyes, is perfection. I hope to one day write a story told in a similar format; with different interconnecting storylines whose connections aren't apparent until the very end. But not yet; it's a challenge for when I'm a better writer than I am now.

Sounds like a Mario Kart 8 stage. I really love how this is composed. The saxophone, trumpets, drum beat, and the piano. They come together so well. :D

My favorite opening theme of all time, from any medium. More than anything else, this tune is the reason I return to Baccano for a rewatch every few months. One of the prime examples of: "They don't make 'em like they used to."

There's something so amazing about Baccano. It was the first anime I watched so I'm a little biased, but I'm sure it holds a special place in a lot of people's hearts. Plus: that saxophone though!

I can't remember the last time I found a show or story where no matter how hard I tried, I could not pick a favorite character. From Isaac and Miria's hilarious antics, Firo's open nature, and Jacuzzi's selflessness to the sadistic Ladd, the insane Graham, and the badass Rail Tracer, I just can't pick one to like more than the rest. The whole cast of Baccano is incredible!

It's not set in the 30's but if you haven't yet seen it Durarara is by the same people and is technically in the same universe.

HighspeedGI7 The setting takes place mostly around 1711, 1930, 1931, and 1932, but most of the stories we see take place during the early 30's. There are multiple settings, but the primary setting is the 30's.

It is midnight right now and I'm listening to this in the dark, alone, in my room, and dancing to this and smiling and remembering how freaking awesome this show was, and how amazing the music was. Baccano is amazing! Love it! XD

i'm on ep 7 and it's so boring. This was fun but Durarara has nothing going on.

You have to watch it all the way to really get why I believe it's amazing. i haven't watched Baccano yet so I can't compare the two (imo its better not to) but I say at least watch Durarara until episode 12. You can stop there if you like; you won't get the full experience, but it's a good stopping point if you really are disinterested. But like I said, I highly recommend watching all of it, minus the 12.5 filler.

Because Baccano and Durarara are both created by the same author, Ryoogo Narita They both originated as Light Novels. I believe that if you enjoy one, you will most likely enjoy the other.

Still here with a wishful dream, that this series will ever continue. One could dream that It will get a second season to continue the story, right? Baccano was simply too amazing to have just ended the way it has!

Saw Baccano not too long ago and the first thing I missed about the show was this opening. Reliving the opening through the anime was the only reason I decided to watch the specials lol. Baccano is a very fun show and this theme represents that really well. I come back to this every other day

this anime may be kind of confusing at first but it is part of how unique, raw, and kind of the protagonist is to each character of the other.
