Manila Pianos presents Jayson Rivera in J. S. Bach Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major, BWV 1007 transcribed for bass clarinet.
Premieres on July 30, 2022 at the fb page of Manila Pianos Artist Series.
The Cello Suite No.1 in G Major is the famous one of the six. The best known movement is the Prelude which consists of a series of arpeggiated chords. It is often heard as a soundtrack for movies and television.
While it is the "most friendly" of the six suites, suitable for beginners or amateurs, it nonetheless presents challenges to the professionals as well.
The movements of the suite follows a pattern and is used in the subsequent suites: a prelude, followed by a fast Allemande and Courante, a contemplative Sarabande, a Minuet that makes an excursion into a minor key, and a speedy closing Gigue.
