I've been on a Bach Cantata-in-the-morning regimen since I was twenty years old. It's 53 years later, yet I'd never heard #6. Life is good as long as one can discover a Bach Cantata as beautiful as this one. Viva youtube! Viva Bach!

That's so cool. It's an absolutely gorgeous one. I'm trying to listen to one Bach work a day from BWV 1 to his last one and it's going to take me at least 3 years.

I think mostly it's the early ones that are the most beautiful and by "early" I mean the first 200. But I'm just a hedonistic listener, no expert!

@@princeandrey, hi, Perry. Bach's works aren't catalogued chronologically. Rather, they're catalogued thematically. The first 200 or so are Bach's cantatas.

Yes, a cantata in the morning is a superb regimen. And maybe a Haydn symphony as a nightcap.

Ćwiczymy Kantatę z naszym chórem...i w pewnych momentach, co tu dużo się rozpisywać, ciarki chodzą po plecach... Jest to po prostu boska muzyka !!! - God's inspiration which over the centuries keeps warming our hearts and our souls... Thanks, Maestro Bach !

try this: "The modulations from one to another were perfectly accomplished - astonishing leaps to distant keys made effortlessly in the mere shifting of the head. New themes, new strands of melody, all perfectly and astoundingly proportioned, constantly involved themselves into the continuing web. Huge slow waves of movement, faster dances that thrilled through them, tiny scintillating scampers that danced on the dances, long tangled tunes whose ends were so like their beginnings that they twisted around upon themselves, turned inside out, upside down, and then rushed off again on the back of yet another dancing melody..."

Me! I just put the book down after finishing it and immediately ran for my phone, I had to hear the Salaxalan ship right away! I was looking for this sort of comment, and glad to find yours! Nice to see a fellow fan had the same impulse! Adams and Bach, two of the greatest artistic geniuses of all time :-)
