Rachel is a fantastic musician and seems to be a wonderful person.

There are so many beautiful subtleties here, it would be hard to recount them all. But there is so much elegance, so much avoidance of doing too much: There are so many touching little gradations of dynamics, particularly emphasizing the beginnings of slurs. There are the tiny little ritards on certain notes, but without losing the main tempo. There are the very lovely slight touches of vibrato here and there, all the more beautiful because they are so spare. Then there are the little sparkles of ornaments on this or that passage or cadence. It's wonderful! Nothing is overdone; nothing is underdone. Then, too, the tempo is an elegant, true walking-tempo andante. Marvelous! What rewards for patient listening!

Elegance and serenity of sound

I presume Rachel is playing the Pesarinius from 1739 that she uses in the complete Mozart sonatas for keyboard and violin. Notice no chin rest, never mind the shoulder rest that helps players of modern violins to keep their left hand free to move over the fingerboard. We are so lucky to have musicians like Rachel. Another British female violinist well worth following is Monica Huggett, who also uses an unmulitated baroque violin (an Amati).

I like this interpretation best but chord at the end sounds better how the modern players play it with vibrato. The rest of the piece Rachel plays the best.

Why moving so much?

Very good even though it's a strange way to play bach in particular and somewhat far from bach and hilary hahn but stills great ❤️
