This idea to use a strap wrench on my dyna saved my ass nothing nothing was moving that filter it collapsed but moved.don't punch a hole or screw anything onto it.. You r the man!!!

I love the foil trick. I've used different funnels to keep oil from dripping all over the bike and floor. It doesn't always work out. Changing my oil soon. I will definitely use the foil method next time.

Only thing I would suggest is when putting the primary cover back on you screw the bolts in a star pattern other then that awesome video is really gonna help me out keep it up 🤝

My 07 has the identical drain plug as the transmission drain plug. Not the Torx bolt. First time at it I thought it was the engine oil drain plug. Just putting that out there...

you mentioned a 3/4 inch socket in the tools needed? It not supposed to be 5/8th?

yeah, on my super glide its a 5/8 for both.

Why don't you torque the drain plugs?

you dont really need to if you're experienced in torquing bolts. you kinda get a good feel for how tight things need to be. Besides really important stuff like engine/trans internals

@@kevin.waldron BS you cannot "feel" correct torque values no matter how many times you did it in the past. you just did it wrong in the past!

@@emsman59 I wasn't saying you can feel correct torque. But there are parts that don't need a specific torque and with enough experience you know how loose/tight is too little/much. Like there's a transition valve casing that I deal with often that has 45ft/lb +- 10ft/lbs that extra 10 is a lot of leeway. So a lot of parts tend to be forgiving. So you do it often enough you know how tight it needs to be. A drain plug is one of those things.

@@emsman59 now is it better/safer to torque it? Absolutely. But is it an absolute must on stuff like a drain plug? With enough experience I'd say nope.
