I love the self-respect shines through the sorrow of this song. In fact, the whole reason she is heartbroken IS because she walked away with her head high saying goodbye even if she didn’t really forget him. A very powerful song.

I think "we only said goodbye in words/ I died a hundred times" indicates that they never said goodbye it was just in words but they saw each other over and over again and each time she died knowing he would go back to "her" and she would go back to loneliness, sadness, illusion, darkeness etc. or in other words "black". Just an interpretation though.

in the end of the doco, Tony Bennet's quote was so deep, "If she had lived today, I would tell her, be careful, You're too important." I was touched too by her bodyguard whose seemingly the only genuine care for her beside Nick. Her dad and that douchebag Blake were ruining her. They have no heart. it's unfair that they are still alive and she died.

You can tell by her lyrics and the pain in her voice that everyday truly was a struggle. A struggle to love herself, to accept love, and of course as we all know, a struggle with addiction. I will be forever grateful that she shared her gift with us, but forever saddened that I will never hear anything new or ever see her live. I hate that people thought she was a novelty act while she was alive, for she was truly gifted!

You don't need to be into the same addictions to drugs, booze, sexual depravity or whatever some great artists do, just to appr3ciate the quality of their creative expression. I hate it how, in Australia, national icons go from revered to 'zero' as soon as some Politicall Correct rumour is spread, typically by toxic, viscious, envious feminists. About their sexual adventures, morality ie their usual 'virtue signalling' crap these feminists, controlling social perceptions, by manipulating our official media, do. The artist and the creativity they express eg their song are 2 distinctly separate things. You can separate them but most 'sheeple' are incapable of such basic intelligence to see this. So they rip down all statues, memory of famous artists who didn't toe the f e minist line, throw them into prison, destroy our natio n al cultural heritage, replace it all with t h eir feminist and related woke bullshit nobody is interested in. Then they wonder why nobody wants to see their ugly daughters and sistas' boring, major non eve n t shows, why the noise they try to pass off as music just won't sell. They really do need to take a job selling French Fries or whatever American stuff they sell there. It's u Australian to tear down our national cultural heritage and seek to rewrite history, like they do in the US. Just leave our cultural heritage alone. It's not perfect, got a few dark spots, but these can be downplayed and the better bits highlighted, to avoid the national c es getting too restless about the somewhat unconventional sexuality, views etc of some great artists. Great artists, inventors, seriously intelligent people are ORIGINAL. That is their Hallmark you identify them by. That means they will never be deadshit, conventional, conformists etc. That is why you love them. It is also why the narrow, small minded eg feminists, tge wokes, hate, envy, seek to bring them down, destroy their already hard lives. After they have achieved this, they wonder why their own lives with 'everything', materially are so utterly pointless, boring, meaningless and whether popping a few highly toxic pills might help ease their boring, pointless existence.

To put someone on drugs isn't possible. Yes it sucks his drug use peaked interest in her but she knew he did them let him do them in front of her. Gave in to temptation like we all do If he tied her up put the pipe in her mouth by force It's not possible to force a person physically to INHALE 🤐 it was HER CHOICE. The song is about her struggle to accept that he's not in love with her & I don't think he wanted to hurt her & keep using her . So the guy was honest by leaving her & wanted to be with a girl he did love

She was supposed to make a song for a James Bond movie. She was too deep in by then and wasnt sober enough to do it.

In the opening lines - "He left no time to regret" I'm hearing a sad, laconic delivery that puts me in mind of another tragic female figure- Billie Holiday - the same tough exterior covering up a hurt vulnerable childlike quality- Go back and check out Lady Day - Miss Billie Holiday.

I’ve only just started listening to her and I’m already hooked. I’m honestly so upset I’ve only just started listening to her now. Her music has some feeling to it. It’s a creepy feeling but a beautiful feeling. I was a baby when you died and I’m honestly so upset because I never got to see your beautiful lives or anything. You where really the highlights of the old times and it’s almost 2022 and people are still in love with your elegant voice. It’s so terrible that people never saw the struggle you went through. I understand what you went through because my dad is sadly addicted to alcohol. And it’s so upsetting that people remember you as the drug addict or alcohol addict which you where so much more than that. You never got to show us your full potential and I bet it was really going to blow our brains out. We love you so much Amy and we miss you more than anything. Rest easy Ms Winehouse ❤️
